with a 105kg/231lb clean & jerk At 49kg/107lbs bodyweight! I went through all the frames (thanks to @hookgrip
) trying to choose a cover photo. It’s such a sick lift. Check out how close she keeps the bar and no hesitation in pulling under after extension! 🇺🇸🏋🏻♂️🇺🇸 Repost @alyssaritchey1
“If you are unwilling to leave someplace you’ve outgrown, you will never reach your full potential. To be the best, you have to constantly be challenging yourself, raising the bar, pushing the limits of what you can do. Don’t stand still, leap forward.” -RR.
I shut the book and the door behind me. I was ready. ———— I wanted to risk it all. I wanted to take big numbers or stay home. We stuck to the plan and held nothing back. ..
I have been pinned countless, numerous times in the bottom of the clean, and if there is a double bounce in the clean (like this one) you might as well kiss the hope of me standing the lift up GOODBYE. .
It was time to attempt 105kg. I walked up the stairs to the stage and already in my mind I made the lift. No matter what, I was making this lift.
When I caught the clean, it felt oddly strong. I knew I wasn’t giving this lift up. I double bounced, pushed as hard as I could with my legs. I got to the mid point where my upper back started to fall forward, normally this is the point where I let the bar win. BUT NO NOT THIS TIME. Determined, I fought, I wasn’t losing this time. It was mine. .
For all the unpleasant weight cuts.
For all my rivals that want my spot.
For every person that believes in me.
For every night out I have skipped.
For every grueling practice.
For everyday I train alone.
For the moments I struggle.
For the moments of courage.
For the strict discipline in my diet.
For every sore muscle.
For all the tears.
For all the smiles.
For every missed rep.
For every PR.
For my coach.
For my boyfriend.
I fought because of this.
To prove I could.
