BCA is proud to have been a part the team for the interior and exterior architectural restoration and rehabilitation of Hamilton Grange National Memorial, which began in 2010 after the historic home had been moved it its new site in St. Nicholas Park.
Ten years ago (June 2008), The Grange; the historic house of first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, officially known as Hamilton Grange National Memorial, was lifted 30 feet in the air and moved roughly a block to its current location.
The move and extensive #restoration
which followed was quite extraordinary. The project completed a plan, which had existed for some 30-plus years, to both move the house to a more open, country-like setting, which the home had originally and to extensively restore the house to the way the Hamilton family would have known it.
National Memorial is in Saint Nicholas Park in Manhattan. It is located at 414 West 141st Street, between Convent Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue.
