Gotta get those pre-set scratches in. Did these at 95#, 10 higher than last week, and I did the last set at 100. The first rep is real hard for me (power position is hardest for everyone) but it’s great for my confidence when I get that rep out of the way. I’m best at the second rep, from the thigh, because that’s what I’m most familiar with. Most people should find from the knee the easiest but my form falls apart a little. I’m working on bringing the bar closer to me with my lats instead of bringing my hips to the bar (@kumaweightlifting
: “stop humping the bar”).
Breaking mental barriers.💥
I haven’t lifted 80 kg since 2015. Several injuries prevented me from cleaning and they ultimately made me change my technique from “splitting” to “normal”. This past year I’ve been working my way up again, but every time I attempted this number it just didn’t go - until today. And breaking that mental barrier almost made me tear up hehe.😭🤦🏼♀️

A well performed clean or snatch is one of the most beautiful things to see. Performing a perfect “jump” and moving weight while creating a “receiving” position is a look into coordination and overall athleticism. Consider each component and work until you have mastered the steps.

Today didn’t go as planned. I started failing at the second to last set of hang cleans. Working a physical job, I tend to forget how it effects me in the gym. So today I was humbled and had to do a last minute weight change. I’m okay with not RXing today as I still adequately challenged myself and will come back next time even stronger.

I’d rather be lifting pretty much sums up what I would rather be doing most of the time , except for drinking coffee , or spending time with my family, boyfriend, and my dog. Today I took advantage of training with my Trainer Jacob on my powerlifting form. Side note. My dad set up a sweet heating system for my truck and I plugged it in last night. Such a treat to have the cab slightly warmer than frozen this morning! Made my day :)

Training when you are mentally and physically exhausted can make you a better lifter if you do it at the right intensity.Be smart. Don't be scared to lift "lighter weights". Surpass mental and physical limitations by tuning in with yourself. Become self aware of your own personal road blocks, and tend to them. Leave the gym feeling accomplished. Every. Single. Fucking.
