Somedays I feel on 🔥. Today is one of them. YESTERDAY WAS NOT. I needed this today, because yesterday was dark, painful and heavy. •
Having 6 kids has put some noticeable wear and tear on this back and these hips. Last week I pushed too hard, had a 4 hour dance cardio day which is all too excited about doing for a special event. BUT tweaked my left hippish area, and was in roaring pain when I woke up yesterday morning. No doubt, made worse from bending over and picking up my sweet babies incessantly. The constant throbbing made me nauseas ALL. DAY. LONG. •I had SO much to do yesterday. My body wasn’t having it. Babies weren’t having it. At one point, I just had to go lay in bed once they napped and everyone else got home. It’s beyond frustrating when you feel those physical limitations. Cue my black cloud, where everything I encounter now feels overwhelming and an impossible struggle. •
MAN does that put some perspective back into my norm today. Because I feel like that so rarely now, that it feels like it stops my world. Where my reality in the past, those feelings, physically, mentally THAT was my norm. That cloud was my shadow. •

Her publication, which subscribers get every three months, includes only positive news stories.
She came up with the idea for the paper after she began feeling overwhelmed by certain things in the news.

For a really long time I hated what I saw in the mirror. I was overweight and not sure how to really get help. I went to the gym but all I would do is the elliptical and then I would eat/drink the calories I burned. It was a vicious cycle and one I am so glad I broke 🙌 There is nothing better then loving yourself 😍 Day 4/80 in the books ✅ .

It always seems so much easier to give up then starting over. Am I right? We have all been there! 🙋♀️ included...and many times! "I'll start tomorrow" "I'll start next Monday" "I'll start next month, year, birthday milestone" "I'll have one more binge weekend"

I went through a rollercoaster of transformations from many different extremes. From getting in shape, training for a figure competition, rebounding from that, struggling to get back on track, binge eating, recovering from a car accident, going through trauma, having a baby and then rebounding from that! .
But you know what I didn't do? Give up.
I never gave up. I started over so many times ..but I was tired of always starting over. When I decided to buckle down once and for all after my son, I never looked back. I said no more starting over. From that, I am my happiest and healthiest. .
I kept pushing, kept fighting, stayed dedicated, committed and I never gave up. .
So when you find yourself giving up because it sounds easier, remember the struggles that come with starting over! And remember someone else out there is going through something much tougher and there are people out there to help you get on track. You don't have to do it alone! .
First, thank you, so much for all of the love & support as I go through my BRCA journey 💕 it seriously warms my heart! ⠀
If you watched my stories yesterday, you saw how real & raw I am when sharing all of the things happening in my world - this is just who I am.. tears, post workout hair, morning face.. just keeping it real 🙈⠀

Getting back on track with my routine this week after my trip has not been easy. I’ve been doing my workouts everyday because ya girl needs those in her life, but if I’m being honest, my nutrition hasn’t been too great 🙈
I’ve been munching on cookies and at work my coworkers brought in Easter candy and I dove into that too. On top of that, my birthday is on Friday so I know I’ll be indulging in some cake! 🎉
So where am I going with this?? Starting next week I am going to really dive into my nutrition program again and go back to clean eating. I know it’s not going to be easy so I’m looking for some accountability buddies to do the nutrition program with me! I’ll be following a customized meal plan that compliments my workouts and I’m looking for some friends to join in with me and take on nutrition together! Any takers?? 🙋🏻♀️

If you asked me a year ago - or even 8 months ago - to take a pic in my sports bra, I would’ve said you’re crazy. After consistently working out and (trying) to better my nutrition, I feel PROUD to be in the skin I’m in. Sure, I have quite a few more lb.’s to lose, but I’m confident with my progress and how far I’ve come. The smallest step in the right direction can turn out to be the biggest step of your life. 🖤
I think it’s silly when people explain their most recent fitness goal or accomplishments with, “I’m nowhere near where I want to be...” or something along those lines. Maybe the focus should be celebrating that you aren’t where you started or that you’ve started whatever it is, at all! Because I know forsureee I wasn’t this close into my splits last year & I’m just really happy about that ✅ #soclose

Made myself some fancy schmanchy breakfast one day.
Okay so not really that fancy at all if I’m honest seeing as it was to use up bits in the fridge and it was super easy😂 but a) I sat down to enjoy it, and b) it involved actual cooking, both of which are a step up from the usual haphazard ‘breakfast’.
Still trying to get back to actually making some sort of vague effort with meals again. Still a bit hit and miss.
120g sweetcorn, drained
100g cottage cheese (don’t judge before you try)
2 spring onions, sliced
1/2 red chilli, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
40g flour (used spelt)
1/4 tsp baking powder
Splash of milk
..there was some bacon too but #snackingwhilecooking
Basically just mix everything together. Heat a pan. Smidge if oil. Dollop. Cook. Flip. Stack. Repeat. Eat 🍴
Can also sub some flour for pea protein but makes them a bit denser.

Everyone in my family thought it was hysterical to tell me how bony and tiny my behind was for most of my life and I was really self conscious about it. Going shopping for pants was a nightmare bc nothing stayed put. I was constantly spending all day yanking my pants up. Annoying 🙄.

Missing my pup so much and so excited to go to my parent’s house and get her this weekend even though she’s having the time of her life there. My sister keeps sending me pictures of my pup living her best life. Ah!! So excited! 2 more days!
Essential oils. 🍃
Slowly learning more and more about essential oils + all their benefits. I personally LOVE doterra oils - many of them can be topically used, used in a diffuser and ingested.
Lately these have been my favorites.
The Balance blend is a nice pick me up. I use it during the day when I feel like I need to recenter my mind.
Wild orange is a great essential oil to start your day! It’s so fresh and rejuvenating.
I’ve been using Deep Blue for any muscle aches I’ve been having. I also suffer from migraines and tension headaches. So putting Deep Blue on the back of my neck when I feel a headache coming has been a life saver to say the least.
Lavender is an amazing calming oil. I use it when I feel anxious and I rub it on the bottoms of my feet before bed. It helps to calm the mind + body and aids in a restful nights sleep.
I’m excited to learn more about oils and how they can be used. Right now I’m starting to make DIY homemade cleaning products + skin care products.

New favorite food - turnips
I seriously struggle to eat all the veggies I need to eat. Especially with breakfast. Ya girl is a volume eater - nothing is going to change that. For awhile I tried to mix spinach in with my scrambled eggs but I would be SO hungry so fast.
Enter the turnip and my life will never be the same. I season it as I would a potato and cook it with things like onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic. Top it with eggs, serve it with a side of toast. I could eat this forever 😍

Great health starts from within. I firmly believe whatever your personal goal, to achieve it, you will need to balance your exercise, diet, mindfulness and nutrition.
Why have I decided to take this huge step & schedule my double mastectomy? ⠀
Because I have a BRCA1 mutation that means I am extremely high risk for both breast & ovarian cancer. ⠀
This means, I can spend my life having screenings done every 4 months (all the tests alternate) & wonder, every single time, whether or not the results will indicate ‘cancer.’ ⠀
I can use the knowledge I have about the risks of getting cancer & I can do something about it. ⠀
Has it been an easy decision? Absolutely not. Not even a little. As a matter of fact, I’ve cried - sobbed, actually - over the thought of looking down & not seeing my breasts anymore. ⠀
Will I have reconstructive surgery? Yes & I am incredibly grateful for this option. But the thought of never having my own breasts again. It’s heavy & there’s no real way to explain how it feels. ⠀
My surgery is scheduled. In a few short months - just after we return from our family vacation, I’ll take this HUGE step forward in my BRCA1 journey.
