Viticulturist Mike Bolas is excited with how things are looking in the vineyard, and says we should be picking in three weeks. The Chardonnay berries are small this season which should lead to really good fruit intensity.
You can see some fantastic “hen and chicken” here; the larger berries (hens) ripen and yield incredible flavour and perfume. The smaller chickens maintain succulent acidity. The magic happens when they meet during winemaking.
