It’s happened 3 times this week. 3 times where my positivity bumped up against people who were determined to be bitter. I’m not talking about being a spinning flurry of chatter before someone has had her coffee - I would not do that to someone. And I’m not talking about someone that has had something major impact her life and is not feeling the happy because I would so be there with a quiet shoulder to cry on, ears to listen and big hugs. I’m talking about making a hobby out of being bitter. You know what totally messes up the I-choose-to-be-bitter process? And really angers the angry people? Being happy and positive! It shuts down everything. It does not feed the fire. This happiness stuff is problematic. This summer made me go deep. The Danforth shooting had me crying for weeks processing that I made it off that street alive but beautiful souls did not. It had me appreciate walking and talking all over again as my brain and body took a massive shock and took weeks to normalize. After years of off the charts pain, moving through the world like an exhausted zombie, regaining motor skills through physiotherapy and taking a long time to go for a simple stroll through a mall or get through an exercise class, plus a million other hells-ya-I-got-that-everyday-skill-back, I choose to be happy. I never thought I would get this level of ability back and things keep improving. Bring on the happy. Bring on the positivity. So many gifts that I never knew would be gifts make me smile. And grateful beyond imagination. I am here for a reason. I have stuff to do. And while I am here I choose to be positive - because all the other stuff was not so much fun. So if my smiles and positivity make negative people uncomfortable, I cannot lower my positivity to make them comfortable. To match their energy. I may have in the past. Not today. Not tomorrow. Never again. It is taking up precious, valuable time in this beautiful world. #ownyourshift

You have the right to an answers. LETS WAIT AND SEE IS NOT AN ANSWER FOR ANY CHRONIC ILLNESS! Literally what I have been going through for years.... not only do I have Hashimoto's disease which causes my body to attack and destroy my thyroid over time, patients with Hashimoto's are at an extremely higher risk of getting thyroid cancer, not only have I had hypothyroidism for seven years and have NEVER had any relief from it, but it took 7 years to get an ultrasound done...... 7. They should do one as soon as you're diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Cuz guess what.... I have MULTIPLE nodules on my thyroid and its enlarged. What did they tell me? Oh they're all under 1cm so we're not going to biopsy it. COOOOOOOL. let's just wait for it to turn into cancer. Shit it could already be cancer! I have to wait another 2 months before my next endocrinologist appointment .... but they're in for a storm. I will make them biopsy my thyroid and I am going to try a natural thyroid supplement again. Synthroid is a joke. At the ripe age of 25 I have 30% of my thyroid function...... THIRTY PERCENT. Late night, no light, but I am pretty excited about how these air fryer chicken thighs turned out tonight. My amazing brother gifted me one that uses ceramic instead of teflon or other more toxic cooking surfaces. I'm impressed after my first use. I don't shy away from using fat and I love using my cast iron pans, but I cook so much that even a small change in the process makes a difference to avoid monotony. I am on a quest to increase my veggie consumption so stir fry’s are my favorite way to do this, once I accept that the veggie prep will take the most time. Got my son to help me with this one from last night as I’m teaching him how to cook. I really love using mince (ground meat) for my stir fry. Cheaper and it really absorbs the spices and sauces. This has a mix of beef and pork. Veggies are bean sprouts, celery, red kale, red cabbage, carrots, bok choy, broccolini and sugar snap peas. Seasoned with a safe (for me) brand of Chinese five spice powder, ginger powder, garlic powder, fish sauce, coconut aminos, salt and coconut sugar and includes a generous sprinkle of dry roasted cashews. Time for relaxing. Even though I didn't work out today, I feel accomplished. I messaged my heart out and checked in with my coach and with my group. I got super vulnerable today and I feel like my life is starting to move forward a little more. I am about to go whip up my superfoods bombness to squash my ice cream craving... and do a bit more work on this scarf I am knitting. I might not have it all figured out, but I know that this shake mix hella helps me on the insides and the group helps me with feeling connected... My mom and SIL spontaneously took lil guy on Friday and overnight. Since he’s literally with me from sun up til sun down, at first I didn’t know what to do with the silence. 💛 Did you know those with chronic illness often avoid self care? 💛 . *Over-commited *Over-available *Over-needed *Cant say no . Sound familiar? . I see it often. I see it in the women in my personal life and my clients who tell me ‘I just don’t have the time’. Heck, that was me until my own illness pushed me to face my self sabotaging ways. This is still something I have to ‘check myself’ about often because I know I can so easily fall back into that trap. What I now know is this lack of self care stems from certain experiences and trauma that occured during my childhood. I can always pick the women who have autoimmune before they speak a word about their health. . Why? . Because they are either the overachievers, the ‘nothings ever good enough’ or their always putting other peoples needs before their own. When I begin to discuss the idea of self care or taking the time to tune inwards and focus on how THEY are feeling, what the true EMOTION is behind their flare up, they stress out about the prospect of taking even 15 minutes for themselves. And no, the type of self care I’m talking about does not involve..... I put these two oils to the test today. I set an alarm and every hour I applied them- non stop. I am happy to say that my day ended much better than the way it started 🙌. A good friend sent me a remainder that happiness depends on our attitude but it is hard to have a positive attitude when you are stressed. These two oils helped me to keep things calm so I could be more positive and happy today 💫

So after an interesting wait, my blood test results came back from my allergist tonight. I was tested on Milk, Gluten, Onions, Garlic, and Wheat. Milk had a class of 0 at 0.10 (but I'd still prefer to be non-dairy as much as possible as it still gums up the works) Gluten is a class 1 allergy at 0.55, Onion is at class 2 at 0.96, Garlic is a class 2 at 1.06 and finally Wheat is a class 2 at 0.97! SO.... Guess who's going #glutenfreewheatfree for LIFE now. The onion and garlic totally sucks because it's in practically EVERYTHING. Best to learn how to make my own sauces and spice blends without it. So it’s been 5 days since I got another diagnosis added to my list of ailments and it definitely took my on a good ride... I have been emotional, overwhelmed, confused, and so distraught at times but I’m finally choosing to bring out all the might I got and get it together! I am choosing to take baby steps towards making more changes into my lifestyle... I decided to just eliminate gluten and dairy for the next couple weeks and then decide what I will be eliminating from there. I’m going to eat as much organic, wild, and hormone free food and do low intensity workouts until my body adjusts to my changes. I’m a total extremist and I typically would have to make extreme changes to feel like I am on a healthy track but this time I decided to do the opposite. I’m going to nurture my body physically and emotionally and go through the next phases of my life with Grace. I’m so grateful for my background as a professional chef right now because I can adjust my favorite meals to work with my needs... I turned 36 a week ago and it feels pretty good. 35 was a wild ride. I moved into a mold-free home, got rid of everything I owned (or meticulously cleaned the few things I saved) to prevent cross-contamination, and was able to finally start healing. Not just maintaining. •Improvements so far: -no more asthma or asthma meds -clearer skin, less acne and hives -more positive mental outlook -thyroid antibodies improving -CFS seems to be VASTLY improved. •What I’m still working on: -intestinal fungal infection. This one is tough and requires time and patience -Hashimotos. My numbers are getting better but there’s still a lot of room for improvement -Leaky gut. Healing will be more swift when fungal situation improves. So excited to reintroduce foods!!! -Anxiety. My nervous mind is part of what got me here. I plan on continuing meditation and I’m considering trying heart math to help learn to sit in the difficulty of being human. -Fitness. I walk a lot. But I know I need to begin a yoga/stretching/exercise routine to improve my strength and flexibility. Also- I just want to mention that I am doing this as a single lady. It’s not easy. If I get too sick to cook or care for myself, there isn’t someone else in my home to help. All the costs are footed by me (all of you going through mold illness know that reversing it is pricy!). But if you’re single out there and struggling with this illness, just know that you can do it!!! It definitely feels like fall is in the air and is here to stay 🍂🍁cooler temperatures during the day and even cooler at night. The sun is setting much earlier, the days feel as if they are getting shorter. Fall is my favourite season, after all I’m a fall baby 💁🏼‍♀️the woods are absolutely gorgeous this time of year. I do feel a bit like a grizzly bear though, preparing for hibernation, all I want to do is sleep sleep sleep and eat eat eat. For the most part I listen to my body because I know I need extra of these things and I try and boost my immune system through food and extra supplements. Then there are the times like tonight where I have to drag my butt to my ‘gym’ and force myself to workout. Since strengthening my core I have noticed a huge improvement in my posture, my balance, my scoliosis related foot drop, my lower back pain, my sciatica and so much more. The center of our body, that effects all our body mechanics, the one area most people avoid or hate to work on. I hate traditional sit-ups, even though I can do them with much more grace now! Anyone else listen to @medicalmedium radio show on exercise and chronic illness recovery? At the beginning, I felt like he told my exact story to a “T”😱 . Anyways, I took a whole 10 months off from working out to really let my adrenals and body heal. I was pushing myself way too hard with heavy lifting and cardio to the point I would just crash after. I wouldn’t be able to do anything the rest of the day. Anthony talked about in the radio show how a lot of people with chronic illness feel like once they are a little better, they push themselves to the limit and cause a flare. Yep, this was me. I would get too excited when I was having a good day and end up over doing it. . Still have a long way to go, but I’m finally feeling like my adrenals are healed enough to slowly get back into it. The last couple months I have been able to go on light walks/jogs without crashing afterwards. Slowly but steady I’m getting there!...and Aspen🐶 has definitely helped me get back into it. If you want some motivation, just get a husky. Ahem, this medical Monday class is in session! I’m your professor, Dr. Fuzzy Snoofer and today we are going to be talking about mast cell activation syndrome. Mast cells are cells from the immune system that live in everyone’s tissues and bone marrow. They help keep us healthy by helping our body fight infection and being part of the inflammatory process. For my girl, however these cells release inappropriately causing major multiple system involved allergic reactions and even anaphylaxis. My girl has a list of triggers that can cause these reactions, but the truth is that she can react to anything any day! Thankfully for her I use my sniffer to smell these cells releasing and reactions occurring before she knows and then she can take medications to help try to minimize these reactions and hopefully avoid anaphylaxis! Ever since my girl has been back from Arizona she has been wearing this actigraphy band from the Mayo Clinic to track her sleep and I have been licking it like crazy. Licking is my alert for mast cell reactions, but for my alert I am supposed to be licking my girl’s face and was licking her watch. She started having nightly mast cell sweats(one of the only times my girl can sweat), a very hard time sleeping, rashes on her face and in her hair, and some itching. After my girl and trainer studied my behavior and analyzed videos of me and the actigraphy band they concluded that ever since my girl came home, I have been alerting to a reaction from the band. Not only did I tell my girl that she was having a reaction, but I told her what was causing it too! I could do this because her wrist that had the band on it was producing the strongest allergic reaction oder for me to smell. My girl is so proud of me for staying consistent with my alerts over the past couple weeks while she sorted out what I was trying to say and that I went above and beyond to tell her exactly where the problem was coming from! Improvised aip and low fodmap pad krapow for dinner! Since the aip ruled out Thai chilies, we used galangal, which added a nice, spicy, authentic flavor without being a nightshade! I was excited to try this, and even happier with how it turned out. Eat with rice or rice noodles for low fodmap, or with sweet potato noodles for aip (pictured). Sweet potato noodles can be found in Korean grocery stores, or online. We used roughly: 1 lb ground beef 3 Tbs coconut aminos 2 Tbs fish sauce 1 Tbs finely grated galangal 6 kaffir lime leaves 1/4 cup thai basil

I have been reading "Embrace Yourself" lately and also taking another opportunity to watch "Embrace" and I got to discuss the documentary and book on Sunday morning at a birthday party with some mums and it was a so nice to be able to share the message that the @bodyimagemovement and Taryn Brumfitt is spreading 😍 Health to me always used to be about my clothing size and being skinny, however, over the past year I have come to realise that it's how I feel inside that counts and eating well and moving is about helping me feel my best not trying to squeeze into skinny jeans or what society thinks I should be 😊 I still have a lot of work to do to heal my body and my mind, but I do now feel that I am on my way 😇 Another way I feel empowered each and every day is wearing my @lornajaneactive @ljclarkson activewear as it so comfortable and always gives me a spring in my step and makes me just feel inspired ❤️
