Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of hatred and anger on social media; it doesn’t effect me, I’m old enough and wise enough to ignore it, but I’m concerned for others. It’s not healthy.
Sharing and venting as we do on social media has toxic side effects. The one effect is an increased acceptability of crude, hurtful insults that seem so commonplace that they fail to shock most, but seriously hurt certain individuals.
Why individuals feel the need to express negative comments on social media when they wouldn’t do it to someone’s face is well beyond me.
Anger and hatred is more influential; and therefore spreads faster, than happiness and joy.
If you disagree with something, don’t feel that you have to respond. If something angers you, be the bigger man. Ignore it. Responding only fuels the fire. The haters will soon give up if we ignore them.
The majority of us are here for our love of music, art, culture etc...... Let’s let these subjects join us as one, not divide us.
Don’t choose a side. Don’t value one person more or less than another.
Treat others with the respect they deserve.
Stand for peace and harmony.
