A bowl of wanton soup was tonight's dinner; it was good but I still prefer what #hawkerchan
serves. My inner Mulan was craving Chinese food so this addressed the yearning somehow. I find it ironic for the foodcourt at Great World City to move next to the gym --- where I attend my yoga class. Why, oh why? 😥
Enjoying my Hong Kong style egg waffles. Piece by piece they come in a golden coloured honeycomb shape and gives out a rich aroma of cake flavour. It is in fact hollow in shape … it gives one an extraordinary experience when biting on it as it has a distinct texture of having a crispy shell with inner softness.

Few things reinvigorate me as quickly as a spicy-on-spicier meal! I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer number of stores present, many of which had long snaking queues in spite of the hour. Solution: get a certain someone to decide and queue while I sit and play mobile games 😂 .
We ended up getting some of my all time fav dishes, many of which are reminiscent of what my family used to eat during my childhood, making the entire dinner fare a nice nostalgia trip. The sambal stingray was superrrr crispy (like REALLY crispy ok), and the fish fillet was one of the freshest I’ve had in a market setting in a while! I managed to rediscover my love for black chicken soup, and learnt to appreciate tempeh a little more, so I can’t say I’m anything but incredibly satisfied with the night’s meal! Thank you for convincing, and bringing me to try some of your childhood places! Always fun coalescing the disparate paths of our past into a new collective present 😊
In conjunction with the last major event of Penang International Food Festival 2019 (Penang Seafood Galore) in this week, we are sharing one of our favourite local seafood delights today: Ikan Bakar (grilled fish)! In Penang, we have quite a number of places, especially in fishing villages, serving delicious and affordable ikan bakar, such as Teluk Kumbar, Teluk Tempoyak, Teluk Bahang, Kepala Batas, Batu Kawan, Bukit Tambun, Nibong Tebal, etc. Where is your favorite place to eat ikan bakar in Penang?

Lor Mee 😄 Very big portion and lots of 料 👍🏻 Happy full stomach 💯 🥳🥳
At the corner coffee shop beside siglap center is this really good Kway Chap, the large intestines and pig skin are nicely braised to a chewy texture and the lor tng fragrant and not too salty, I usually take half a bowl of that spicy tangy chilli sauce #siglapkwaychap
Quiet dinner at the hood... caprese salad, sourdough lamb and fennel meatball pizza, IPA on a cool 雨过天晴night

If there’s one thing Singapore is known for, it has to be our irresistibly cheap and delicious hawker food. The WriteHaus team had a sumptuous feast right in the heart of Serangoon Gardens, at the widely-acclaimed Chomp Chomp Food Centre. Want to satisfy your food cravings but don’t wanna break a hole in your pocket? Be a tourist for a day in Singapore and explore the wide array of hawker food across the island. Your tummies deserve a treat - so chomp away!
Featured Must-haves at Chomp Chomp: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Hai Wei Yuan BBQ Stingray
- Ang Sa Li Satay
- Ah Hock Fried Hokkien Mee
I always love to eat satay at Lao Pa Sat Satay Street especially satay from stall No.8.
But this time I ordered from two different stall which is no. 8 and no. 10. To compare, satay from both stall were tender and good but satay from stall no.10 tasted better and satay sauce from stall no.8 is better with lots of peanut.
We also ordered stingray, sambal squid as well as Mee goreng. Tasted ok but price is on the high side.
I know it looks like as if Singapore food is all about noodles 🤣🤣 but IT isn’t! .
Here’s the Nasi Lemak I made my sis @rubychhantelbudha
buy so I could try her nasi while I still had my must have Pork Ribs & Prawn Noodles from PM building!! 😂😂 .
But because I was too busy catching up with Bhanji bainis I only got to eat one spoon of her nasi lemak 😭😭 so I am off to eat a good plate of nasi lemak all by myself 😂😂😂
Korean BBQ with hubby & my niece for lunch yesterday. As Vietnamese, I love Thai & Korean food because they are spicy & tasty. The food is colourful which please my eyes before eating 😋😋😋
Mutton briyani with mutton curry for lunch
I think I'm gonna really enjoy this...
Vadai (doughnuts made from lentil & onion), served with chutney.
I have never seen or heard of bhatura before today. It is a light & thin pastry puffed with air & served with mild chickpea curry. Very nice!
