Have you ever got your vitamin D level checked by a simple blood sample? 💉📇 This time of year a lot of people may have low vitamin D levels and not even realise it 😕 this can be a result of a number of factors.... 👉 Diet: if you are following a really strict vegan diet sometimes you may not be consuming the recommended daily allowance of vitamin D. Most sources are animal based such as dairy products, fish, eggs and beef. If we choose to remove any food group from our diet we should make sure we can replace these vital vitamins and minerals with other food sources.
👉Limit to sunlight exposure: between the months of October through to February especially in Ireland, we have very little sunlight exposure. Our body produces significant amounts of vitamin D through the skin from sun exposure. ☀ ✔️ Vitamin D helps to regulate calcium metabolism/absorption. It helps to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. ✔️ Vitamin D is important in the growth of children, especially for healthy bones and teeth. It regulates bone formation. ✔️ Vitamin D is helpful in maintaining the nervous system, heart function and for normal blood clotting--all of which are affected by calcium levels. ❓Do you think you might have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) symptoms including low energy, depression during winter months (seasonal depression), feeling sluggish or agitated, poor concentration, lack of interest in day to day tasks. These symptoms could be a sign to check your vitamin D levels by having your blood test done. ‼️This Vitamin D spray is a high dose vitamin spray giving 3,000IU in one spray. Always check with your GP before taking any high dose supplementation. Your blood result of vitamin D levels will give you better direction in what dosage you should be consuming as supplementation if required. Always check first with your health professional or GP!

My celebrations 🎉 didn’t end with New Years though? Our family has 2 birthdays this month and 2 birthdays next month, one of which is mine! And the following month is another. Celebrations and events don’t stop just because the holidays are over. True, “the holidays” may have a few more events or parties than a normal month, but if you think about it there is probably a holiday every month or every other to celebrate not including birthdays. Would you agree then that learning how to eat #healthy
thru the whole year is hugely important? Learning how to navigate going out and enjoying a restaurant but also not steering you off your health goals everytime you do is also important?
Last night I took my kiddos, and parents out for dinner to celebrate one of the birthdays I mentioned. I thought about a salad 🥗 which totally would have been a fantastic option. But the cool thing is when you’re open to asking questions you can chat with you waiter or waitress and see if other healthy things are available that aren’t on the menu. Many places only list fries as a side and don’t say they’ll lettuce wrap burgers or sandwiches, but ask the question, “is a salad an option for a side?” Or “can you lettuce wrap a burger?” Many places now days are very accommodating. FISH PARCELS 🐟
I hate it when you don’t take a good picture before you eat it 🙄 Here are some pics from the archives! This recipe is one I cooked when I ordered Hello Fresh! It’s a tasty, healthy meal and really convenient if you are just cooking for one!
Marinade: - one piece per person of white fish (any) I had blue eye tonight. - ginger (grated)
- spring onions (two, chopped finely)
- soy or tamari sauce (2 tbsp or more depending on size of fish) - garlic clove (grated)
- olive oil
- honey - chilli (if you like to spice things up)
Make a marinade in a little bowl using those ingredients ☝🏼 Other ingredients:
- handful of green beans and snow peas - Grain of choice (rice, quinoa etc)
Wash and chop ends off a handful of green beans and a handful of snow peas.
Prepare a piece of foil (about 30cm) and then a piece of baking paper (about 20cm)
Layer the beans on a piece of baking paper, which should is on top of the foil.
Then lay the fish on top of the beans.
Next, drizzle the tasty marinade over the whole thing!
Pack it up like a cute little parcel and make sure it is sealed so no air can escape (or it will prolong the cooking time and possibly dry out). Put it in a pre-heating oven (about 180*) on a tray, for 15-20 minutes. Check the fish, it should be white and flaky with juices at the bottom of the parcel.
While that is cooking in the oven, cook some rice or quinoa or whatever you want!
Next... plate it up! Take the fish out of the oven and serve on top of your chosen grain!
Drizzle over the juices! 🙌🏼 SO good and healthy and DELISH! 💜

The reason I ask is because one of my goals of this account is to spread the word about the importance of incorporating more green healthy foods into every day! 💚And that’s the reason why I came up with the #everydaygreenhealth

Because eating a diet rich in leafy greens can provide health benefits including reduced risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and even slow cognitive decline! 🤯
Leafy greens like kale, romaine and rocket contain loads of vitamins K, C ana E. Meanwhile celery juice has been touted to cure digestive problems. Likewise green veg are also alkalising to the body and also anti-cancer. Bonus points for broccoli sprouts which are especially anti-cancer! BOOM! 💥
Also fine to add healing foods like superfood powders chlorella (pictured along with celery and 🍋 ), moringa and spirulina and of course my favourite tea 🍵 MATCHA - which is chock full of EGCSs for a powerful anti cancer boost! .

Leicht basische pH-Werte sind ideal
Eine naturbalassene, basische Körperpflege mit leicht basischen Werten, so wie sie in meinen Produkten zu finden sind, ist sehr viel geeigneter für die tägliche Hautpflege, da dieser pH-Wert die Haut nicht austrocknet.
Besteht diese Hautpflege dann noch aus hochwertigen Kräutern, ätherischen Ölen und anderen wertvollen Ingredienzen, dann kann man durchaus von einer kombinierten Haut- und Gesundheitspflege sprechen, da jede auf die Haut gegebene Substanz automatisch über die Poren in den Blutkreislauf gelangt und somit der gesamte Körper von der Wirkung der Kräuter und Öle profitiert.
Verwendet man basische Produkte, kommt es zu einer Reaktion mit den Säuren auf der Haut und im Bindegewebe, diese werden neutralisiert und somit gelöst. Dadurch wird der Körper angeregt, eingelagerte Säuren und Schlacken aus dem überwiegend sauren Milieu der Zellen zu lösen und in einer basischen Umgebung, die wir mittels Hautpflege und Bäder unzerstützen, abzugeben. VEGAN | Although I am not saying you have to go vegan in January, this time of the year is a good time to reset your eating habits slightly and with that I mainly mean to include more vegetables into your diet. Whether that’s having a vegan/vegetarian meal per day or week or just upping the amount of vegetables you have on your plate alongside your fish, meat, chicken or whatever it is.
Yesterday I decided to go for a vegan meal, I simply cooked quinoa with a gluten-free stock cube and when cooked and cooled off I added lime juice, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and handfuls of fresh herbs (I had coriander, parsley and mint but you can use any herbs). I topped this with a large tomato, avocado, red pepper, spring onion, coriander and red chili salad with apple cider vinegar and olive oil as well as a large handful of two of sprouted mixed beans.
So delicious and so simple! .

I bet you won't find this recipe anywhere else because... I invented it myself 🙄
Below is what you need👇
✔️1 cup of soaked American Rice
✔️1 cup of corn
✔️1 cup of green peas (I use frozen peas)
✔️1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
✔️200 grams of meat cubes
✔️1 big onion, chopped
✔️Olive or coconut oil
✔️Black & sweet pepper
✔️Salt (I use Himalayan pink salt) ✔️Pine nuts and pistachios or any other nuts of your choice
First, stir fry the onions in olive/coconut oil, then add the meat and sweet pepper and stir until brown.
Add the corn, green peas, mushrooms and stir.
Add the rice, black pepper and salt and mix all the ingredients together, then add 2 1/2 cups of hot water and let it simmer.
In the meantime, roast the nuts to decorate the dish with once the rice is ready.
And... Bon Appétit! 💁♀️ 👶🧒👧 Trust me, Your kids are gonna love it! My daughters had it for lunch for 2 days in a row, and so did I 😉

Eat lots of different coloured whole foods for health. So much of how you feel comes down to what you eat so pick foods that look healthy to feel healthy. It is quite simple, don't over complicate things, go for foods that come in their "own" pack and generally have only one ingredient, for example an apple is an apple, a cucumber is a cucumber. This is much better for you than a packet of biscuits which is sugar, cocoa, fat emulsifiers, vegetable fat, milk solids, dextrose, wheat flour, sugar syrup, invert syrup, raising agents, gluten cereals, butter, oil, plus more!

Want to improve your eating habits, but not sure where to start?
I recommend making a quick assessment of your individual starting point.
Everyone's is different based on family patterns, culture, education, socioeconomic standing, time, value on health, habits, etc
So take stock of yours, so you know what you're working with, face it head-on and know which direction to go next!
Step 1: write down EVERYTHING you ATE or DRANK in the past 24 hours.
What did you eat/drink for breakfast? Mid-morning snack? Lunch? Afternoon snack? Dinner? Evening snack?
Note the: *amt. of fresh fruit & veg/meal, *servings of whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts or seeds per meal. *How many food/drinks were from packages, cans, boxes, fast food or restaurants?
Step 2: Make a note of:
* what time you went to bed last night and awoke this morning. Total hours sleep? Quality?
* Did you take time for relaxation in the past 24 hrs? Type/amount? * Exercise? Type(aerobic, strength, flexibility) duration & intensity?
* What were your stressors in the past 24 hours? Did you do any stress reduction practices?
* what supporting vs non supportive relationships do you have in your life?
Each item in step 2 affects health and sometimes eating habits.
Step 3: After you review your assessment, which ONE area would you like to focus on this month and if you improve would likely effect others of you life?
Eating less processed food? Sleeping more? Eating more veg? Adding in stress reduction practices? Exercising daily? Switch from whole milk to nonfat or dairy to plant? Choose your focus and decide how you will achieve small measured improvements in that area.
After you are successful, reassess and pick another area on which your like to focus. By repeating this process you can make small sustainable changes to improve your health.

Я хотела найти некую форму очно-заочного образования, которое также включало бы в себя стажировку в клинике. Наконец я нашла то, что искала. Программа состояла из двух частей, что позволяло понять, все от тебе подходит, нравится и хочется ли ещё больше углубиться в предмет. После первого года обучения при успешной сдаче экзамена получаешь диплом консультанта по питанию (Nutritional Adviser). Этот диплом позволяет оказывать консультации без назначения препаратов и добавок. При желании продолжить обучение - сдаёшь экзамен для зачисления на следующую ступень, обучение на которой включает в себя более глубокое изучение всех аспектов, а также практику работы с пациентами. По времени на обучение ушло ещё два года и год стажировки в клинике. Было очень удобно , что имея в наличии уже один диплом - ты можешь начинать работать. Вся деятельность врачей в Англии застрахована. Ты также должен быть членом профессионального сообщества или ассоциации. Кроме этого, наряду с обучением , для получения диплома, ты должен постоянно повышать свою квалификацию , посещая различные профессиональные семинары, вебинары или курсы, в Англии это называется CPD - continued professional development. После успешного прохождения всех экзаменационных работ, завершения практики и подтверждения необходимого количества часов CPD вы получаете диплом Врача по питанию.

I used to and still (whoops) find myself judging others for their gym selfies. “I meannn did you even GO to the gym if you didn’t take a selfie?”🤳 or “wow that yoga pose just magically happened and someone just happened to catch it! Aren’t you great!?”🤦🏻♀️ ...because I’ve spent my life in gyms as an athlete (as in weight training started at age 12) - to me this was eye-roll city. 🙄🙄🙄
This was someone walking off the street into a gym for likes..for a pat on the back for doing something that really isn’t phenomenal...Look at me, I workout, I’m basically an athlete now!! 🏆🏆🏆All I could think was, what value are you adding to people’s lives? Today I told mean girl Maddy to take a hike. I realized that maybe it’s not about the audience, it’s about that person in the gym. That despite whatever was going on in their life, they were still taking care of themselves. Despite it all they had something to be proud of. It might not be inspiration to others but to put it out there in the world was self validation. I did that. It’s the little celebrations that push us towards more. We need these little celebrations, because life isn’t goals and ideals and places we want be in life. Those things are great, but it’s the journey and the small wins along the way that make it. .
So here’s to your small wins today. If you didn’t make it to the gym, if your only act of self care was to wash your face or drink a glass of water - those are still wins.
