Christmas spirit - It's the most wonderful time of the year! I'm in such a festive mood this year! Decorations are going up, The Killers' Christmas album is on the turntable, IT’S OFFICIALLY HERE! So excited to spend time with family and friends and fully embrace my favourite time of year.
Seth Lakeman - I've been following Seth's career for more than ten years. He recently released a new album, quickly followed by a tour. Every time I see Seth live he blows my mind. One of my favourite musicians and live performers (and brilliant to photograph too!)
Nottingham - I know, it sounds daft, but I just love my city! With personal branding photo-shoots comes location scouting. Some call it purposeful wandering, exploring the city for the best locations for my clients. I'm seeing more of my city and through new eyes, it's a lovely experience.
Paris - I'm not long back from a flying visit to Paris with one of my best girls. It had been eight years since I was last there and this time I completely fell in love with the city.
Books, books, books! - I always read more in winter, there's nothing like snuggling up with a good book! I've had Sense and Sensibility sat on my shelf for years but I've only just got round to reading it now and I LOVE IT. Life was so much simpler in 19th Century Devonshire!

You heard that right.
1️⃣ Never use the term "diet" again. 🙅🏽♂️
Saying "I'm on a diet" puts you in a very vulnerable mentality. It shows that we're taking away something good. Like your mom's homemade brownies.🍫
When we focus on the brownies that are taken away we start wanting that shit realllll bad.
Focus on filling your day with lean sources of protein, carbs, and fats. Not the bland, boring, often disgusting foods that you otherwise would never eat on a "diet."
Focus on healthy foods that YOU enjoy and serve your goals of losing fat or gaining muscle.
2️⃣ Eat to SATISFY. 😋
Control portion sizes in a more gentle fashion so you can treat yourself with more kindness.
Instead of depriving yourself from those tasty homemade baked gods, just have one per day.🍪
3️⃣ DIG DEEP. 😳
Self awareness on the way you eat and the way you think about food is WAY more important than changing what you're eating.
Change your beliefs about food and develop a healthy relationship with it.
In the end it's about WHAT you eat. Not WHY or HOW.
A bestselling or trendy diet regimen out there designed for the masses won't work over the long term.
We all know what is right for ourselves. You know what behaviors are damaging. Yet we continue to make the choices that harm us. Your behaviors are relying on beliefs deep down.
👉🏽Skip the "3 week fix" with a deadline on your healthy eating habits. You're worth more than some temporary fix.

Amid all the ways the fitness industry is helpfully becoming more all-inclusive, I fear that many within fitness culture have forgotten the importance of hard work.
Not only that, but with the wrong spokespeople at the helm, it's easy to misconstrue open-mindedness for laziness. Slowly but surely, the notion of having tangible goals is becoming a fitness taboo.
With all the voices on all the platforms that are quick to call out body negativity, ditch the scale, praise a mental calm, and encourage "happy" as healthy, there are far fewer voices in the current arena to say this: People who are incompatible with the above aren't ALL bad examples of health and wellness. It's OK to have physique goals, tough programs, a super-clean diet, and workouts that you don't always look forward to, as long as each is approached from the right frame of mind.

G I N G E R • bread men ✨ this is an oldie but a goodie & I love making these gluten free ginger bread pals this time of year.
Makes 15 Biscuits 🍪
Equipment: baking paper, gingerbread man cookie cutter, rolling pin and food processor
1 Cup Almond Meal
1 Cup Buckwheat Flour
1 Tsp Vanilla Paste or Extract
1 Tbsp Cacao Powder
2 Tbsp Fresh Ginger, finely grated
1 Heaped tsp ground ginger
1 Tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking powder
1 organic egg, lightly whisked
2 Tbsp honey
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
8 Dates, pitted
Pinch of sea salt
🍪Preheat oven to 180c. In a food processor, add almond meal, buckwheat flour, cacao powder, ginger, fresh ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, dates, sea salt and vanilla paste. Blitz until its a crumb-like consistency.
🍪Add you egg, coconut oil and honey and blitz until a dough like mixture.
🍪Lightly flour a smooth surface with some buckwheat flour, flour a rolling pin. Add your ginger bread dough to the surface. 🍪Roll into a big ball with your hands then roll our with rolling pin until about 1-2cm thick. Use your ginger bread man cookie cutter to get shape.
🍪Line a baking tray. Add each cookie to it. Make a face with a fork for buttons and eyes and teaspoon for mouth.
🍪With leftover dough, roll again and repeat method 3 & 4
🍪Place in oven for 7-10 minutes until firm to touch.
Cool on a wire rack and serve.

I think it’s working!! Over the past year I’ve been working at becoming more of a minimalist in terms of my possessions. I’ve gotten rid of heaps of clothing and have stopped buying household trinkets. I’ve even realized that I need about 1/4 of the cosmetics and skin care items I use to buy
Owning less is SUCH a freeing feeling. Today I stopped by two second hand shops and didn’t buy anything! I stopped by the drugstore for a notebook and the one I liked best was 50% off but came with 2 and I just knew I didn’t need both so I left it on the shelf. The other day my dad and I were talking about socks (don’t ask me why🤷♀️)I told him I think I own less than 10 pairs, he couldn’t believe it.
Owning less makes me appreciate what I have and for the first time I actually wear all my clothes, nothing hangs there for that “maybe one day” scenario. I have less stuff collecting dust on shelves, and less books that sit there unread

Sucralose (Splenda) has been chemically modified into a chemical that is linked to hyperactivity in the brain, brain cancer, depression (due to destruction of the digestive tract bacteria), anxiety (hyperactivity of the neurological/nervous system and gut health, and sleep issues (just to name a few side effects). The hardest hitting side effect that causes the cascade of the rest of the chronic health issues that develop is the destruction of the good bacteria in the gut. Splenda kills off more than 50% of your natural, good bacteria in your digestive tract that you were born with. The reason we are born with good bacteria is so that we can digest our foods to absorb nutrients that regulate metabolism, mood, energy, and sleep. ⠀
Splenda used to be made from real sugar, so the commercials were true in the beginning. Manufacturers had figured out how to alter sugar into a powder/flake form with high heat, making it a substance that the digestive tract could not absorb. The modified sugar would sweeten food, but go through the digestive tract into the stool. Now chemicals have been added to Splenda, making it a toxic substance. Be aware. Here is a little math for you and if I am being completely honest here …. I’ve always hated math ….. but this equation is one that cannot be denied.
Efforts + Every Day = Results
Whether you apply this equation to your business or your health, I know this to be true …. you are where you are because of your efforts.
If you have a successful business and you are in a good place with your health then keep doing whatever it is that you are currently doing. Kudos to you!
However, if you are not where you want to be in your business or you are not satisfied with your health, then you need to increase your efforts …. every - single - day!
The New Year is right around the corner and we will all be bombarded with messages of “Get Healthy in 30 Days”, “Lose Weight With A 7-Day Detox”, “Make a 6-Figure Income in 90 Days”, “I’ve Got the Secret To Instant Wealth” and so on. In a world that is in love with instant gratification, sadly these marketing ploys work with a lot of people.
Often times we will see, in our Facebook feed and in the news, people who seem to have experienced dramatic achievement, in their health or in their business, with minimal effort. Whether it’s quick-fix diets or overnight success businesses.
I’m here to tell you that the quick-fix programs don’t work. If you want better results in your business you need to put the effort in every single day. If you want better results with your health then you need to put the effort in every single day. All of your efforts matter and there is value and great reward in working hard for something. It really is that simple.
What you get out of life is a direct reflection of the effort you put in.
Are you afraid of being seen?
▶︎Maybe you’ve been ridiculed for standing out.
▶︎Maybe you’ve been shut out of your social group for “shining”
▶︎Maybe you’re scared to outshine someone in your life.
▶︎Maybe you’re scared how people in your life will think of you & what you’re doing.

But I want you to know that you can overcome this fear.

HEALTHIFY THAT COMFORT FOOD: Just about every Friday I start to hear a little voice in my head whispering, “piiiiizzzaaaaaa”. And every Friday, I struggle to quiet this voice. But the fact is cold, quiet weekends make me crave comfort foods! And uhem, pizza is the MOST comforting ♥️
Instead of telling that little voice to shut the heck up or completely splurge every weekend, here are 5 tips for healthifying your favorite comfort food recipe:
🍏 Lots of processed, canned, or premade ingredients? Search how to make a simple from scratch version on your own.
🥗 Not enough green? I dare you to give me a recipe I can’t add some greens to. You can sneak spinach, kale, or some sort of leafy greens into just about anything.
🥦 Excessive amounts of added or refined sugar? Switch it out for organic honey or maple syrup.
🥝 Ingredients you typically deprive yourself of because they’re “unhealthy”? (I call these “treats”—bacon, cheese, biscuits, bread, red meat) Increase your quality, decrease the quanity.
🥑 Think the calories are too high? Fat free, sugar free, low calorie, or zero calorie foods are FAKE.
Here’s a secret: REAL FOOD HAS CALORIES. Focus on nutrient density (complex carbs, healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins) and less on calorie counts.
