Casual mirror selfie photoshopt cuz I’m diggin this outfit 💁🏻♀️ I’ve lost some muscle in my upper body since marathon training started, but I’ll be getting into a more regular strength training regime soon so hopefully I’ll get some of that back!! Overall, just feeling super proud of how well I’m keeping up with the faster paces ☺️ #fitfam #fitspo #healthspo #runnersofinstagram #bodypositive
Breaking up with smoothies for now ✌️ Because I’m dramatic but toast really tastes better anyway, right? 🍓 Flare ups suck. You can feel them come up and there’s not much you can do to stop it in its tracks. You can feel it sit heavy in your upper abdomen and you can feel the pain transcend slowly until it disappears. Sometimes it comes and goes all within a day or a few hours, but sometimes the residual effects linger for days. Brain fog, lack of motivation, guilt, lethargy, discouragement, fear around food. It’s all bullshit and it should NEVER stop you from life. Be smart about what you put in your body and most importantly, when you find yourself laying on the floor knees to chest eating rice for 24 hours, forgive your body for being an asshole. It wants to be on the same page as you, but it’s a freakin team effort. Be good to it, physically AND mentally, and it’ll help you out right back ✨👑 #goodgutfeelings #ggfxibs

Truly did a to-go strawberry protein smoothie jam this morning by pulling out my @ecojarz
lid and stainless steel straw. Also my jam, today’s morning workout, the final of this week’s OTF All Out Mayhem. The combo of endurance + strength make a lovely pair for me to get my burn on. Rolling into the long weekend like a champ.
Side note: My coach Michelle said we could have as many drinks this weekend as we got splat points. Plus, it’s #nationalwineday
... so, come find me by the pool with some rosé.
Face everything and rise 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
breakfast ☀️ avo toast with arugula, fried egg, & of course sriracha 🌶 hope everyone has a great Friday!! 🦄
“Made a quick stop at the grocery store on my way home from the airport tonight (and got so many stares rolling my suitcase through the aisles 🤣) because after several consecutive trips over the past two weeks (and lots of restaurant meals), cravings for a home-cooked dinner were at an all time high! This seared salmon, spicy-garlic broccolini, and basil-sage fettuccine plate was fast, easy, cheesy, and really hit the spot 😅.
- : wild king salmon seasoned with sea salt and black pepper, then seared in primalkitchenfoods avocado oil (3 mins skin side up, then 3-4 mins skin side down) •• grilled broccolini seasoned with lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, red pepper, parm 🌶🥦 •• cappellos almond flour fettuccine tossed with basil, sage, olive oil, and parm 🌿.
Now it’s time to unpack, put on my cozy jammies, and catch up with all of you since I’ve been very MIA in this space over the last few days ❤️ Hope everyone had a happy Sunday! 😘
p.s. I talked a bit about my trip in my previous post! 🌴 @sara.haven

Best part of being an acupuncturist? Having tools to treat myself!
While I’ll always opt for a treatment by someone else, sometimes you just have to pause and do the necessary.
Like needling Bi Tong, an extra point that helps with allergies and sinus congestion.
I’ve always struggled with allergies on the Central Coast (allergic to basically all the grasses, trees and weeds here) but find that regular acupuncture treatments along with constitutional herbs help keep symptoms down and manageable.
And negative side effects? Zero. 😊 #ilovemyjob #gratefuleveryday
Listen to your body. ⠀
While food cravings aren’t always reliable (hello raging candida sugar monster), there are instances where the cravings are there for a reason. If intuitively eating, your body could be giving you a signal for what it needs. For example, craving something sweet could mean your blood sugar is a bit low, or craving nuts could mean you are low in magnesium. ⠀
As long as choosing nutrient dense food, I would encourage you to experiment with trying to listen to what your body wants. This morning for example, I was craving something sweet. While I normally crave a savory breakfast full of protein & vegetables, I just wanted fruit. So I served myself up some @thecoconutcult
yogurt, topped with @kitchfix
grain free paleo granola & organic strawberries and blueberries! ⠀
Let’s just say I am feeling super satisfied headed into this memorial day weekend. Now tell me, what is your experience with following your cravings?
Practicing stoicism means practicing thinking negatively. It means practicing for when we face adversity. Living in a bubble of optimism, in a ”positive thinking” hoopla and dreaming of your wishes coming true, only makes you lazy, passive and less able to get where you want to be. According to research (see the work of Gabriele Oettingen for interesting studies on this subject), negative thinking, on the other hand, works incredibly well. Rehearsing what could go wrong in your mind, over and over again, going through the mental moves, will prepare you for any scenario. You’ll be ready for all potential outcomes so that you won't be caught by surprise. Asking yourself the hard questions, like ”what will go wrong?” and lay out the worst-case scenario brings a sense of peace to your mind and weirdly puts you at ease. It brings you to home base. It’s a way of making peace with reality, of loving what is, as Byron Katie says. .
Let’s bring this concept to another level now. To our inner world. Because in the end, that’s where the battlefield will play out. The obstacle is never outside of us. Ever. Whatever is standing in the way of you and where you want to be….is your brain. It’s your thinking. Say what? Yes. That two million year old computer in your head is your obstacle. Your brain is setting up hurdles and distractions at all times, especially when you try to step outside of your comfort zone. Sit down, take a moment and imagine where and how everything can go wrong. Now, visualise how you’ll handle the situation. How will you react to it? How will you show up for it? This little simulation exercise is a powerful brain rewiring tool that will help you face your urges. Your compulsions. Your thoughts. Your life.

These could possibly be close to the yummiest things I’ve ever made 🤤 my fav things ever are the shortbread brownie stack bars. Think I should make them again 🤓 Michaels favorite are the peanut butter bars.
Cookie dough blondies:
You need these in your life!!
- 1 & 1/2 cups coconut flour
- 1 cup macadamia nut butter
(I used @antoniasrealfood
and it was incredible. I also topped them with her choc hazelnut butter which tastes like Nutella 🙌🏻)
- 1/2 cup @bodybywild
vanilla protein (either vegan or whey)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp water
- *optional* 3 gluten free choc biscuits of your choice
What to do:
- mix all the dry ingredients (except the biscuits)then add in the wet ingredients
- then fold in the crushed biscuits
- put wax wrap over a brownie tin
- place your mixture in there and push it into place (I used my hands to mix it and put it into the pan)
- place in the fridge for 30 minutes
- bake on 190 degrees for 5 minutes
They were perfect 👌🏼 I think anymore than 5 minutes and they may burn.
- allow them to cool and then cut into bars
SIDE NOTE... I have a new blog post up (link in bio) annnnnnd it’s exciting because I haven’t uploaded much to the blog lately because WHO HAS TIME?!?! Question of the week: Friend Interview Edition😂 My best quality as a friend is that I will tell you the unvarnished truth as I see it. My worst quality as a friend is that I will tell you the unvarnished truth as I see it.😉 I’m the Dr. Phil of your friend circle.😆🚫🐮💩 Another best: I am fiercely loyal and love unconditionally. Another worst: my job consumes me and when that happening, I tend to neglect those closest to me. It’s something I’ve struggled with for years, but I feel called to do what I do for people who have been hurt and need our help tying to make them whole again. As a result my family and friend time suffers. I’ve been called flaky for having to cancel in people at the last minute because of work. I know it’s sometimes hard to understand, but my schedule isn’t my own. That’s the life I have chosen. Since work can be very emotionally draining, I tend to be introverted once I do have time away and I don’t reach out to get together. Again, friends and family get pushed back. But because of that, when I am there, I’m there. 💯 checked in. If I do have some work thing going on, I let friends and family know right away that I may need to check my phone from time to time, but I try to schedule time with friends and family when they can be my sole focus. So, there’s the unvarnished truth about me as I see it.😉 Happy Friday, Y’all!!! I wanted to get the question up early since I know a lot of you are starting holiday weekend today!!! HAVE FUN!!!!! #49questionswithkel

Despite the fact that I’m stressed, freaking out, and lacking sleep, I am ALL SMILES THIS MORNING 😊🙌🏻
This is an extremely stressful week for me 😅 which is why I’m trying to take plenty of time for self-care & doing the things that make me feel good 🙌🏻
I’ve been waking up in the morning WANTING to go to the gym, to give myself an hour to clear my mind & truly connect with my body 👏🏻
In no way does the gym replace therapy or serious mental health problems, but it does provide temporary mental relief 😊🧠
The gym won’t solve your mental problems, don’t get me wrong, but it is a great opportunity to truly connect with your body 🙌🏻
So I’ve been going for a few days now & feel energized and excited to start my days, despite the long to-do list 😅
I hope you guys have an awesome, SAFE, Memorial Day weekend planned... remember to carve sometime out for self-care, whatever that may be to you ❤️😊 and remember, only workout if you TRULY want to 🙌🏻

I want to take a minute to talk about quality nutrition....what do I mean by that? Well, having your calories in check is one thing, but having the quality of those calories in order is something different altogether! It’s fast becoming public knowledge now to anyone starting off on a weight loss journey that in order to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit & that’s fine, however it doesn’t end there. People need to pay more attention to what exactly those calories are. Shouldn’t we be aiming to eat for long-term health primarily?😕🤷🏼♀️ Well, in order to do that, your nutrition should be made up largely (mostly, in my opinion) of wholesome, nutrient-dense foods! Fitting processed or refined foods into your diet should be a secondary thing & in small doses.
I’ve been fortunate enough to attend the @isi
Symposium this past 2 years with my husband & seen some amazing minds within the health sector of the industry speak on everything from thyroid function by Dr Serrano to Training Protocols by John Meadows & most recently last years seminar by Dr Brian Walshe on cell health I found particularly interesting & informative. He went on to talk about how new cells are formed daily, cell health dictates not just our energy levels but immunity against disease amongst a host of other things. Taking this into consideration, to have optimum cell health & function, we should aim to therefore limit the amount of toxins we expose our bodies to through nutrition. In turn, you can expect to see your energy levels change🤸🏼♀️sleep improve💤mood improve😃to list but a few benefits! Who can honestly say they feel good when eating junk food daily? Lethargic? Bloating/tummy issues? Low libido? Low moods? Zero motivation? Headaches? Struggle to concentrate? Poor quality sleep? Skin break outs? Yip, all massively contributed to by poor dietary choices daily...

I’ve been pondering a lot on how my wellness looks like and how I can improve. If you pay close attention to MANY bible verses God intends us to read about wholeness and wellness you will find that God cares about your health and wellness. .
Take 1 Timothy 4:7–9 as an example:
Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. "Physical training is good, but spiritual training is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it.
Stop looking for godless ways to lose weight and eat healthier. God gave us WHOLE foods, wisdom to choose what's best for our bodies, and told us that He would be there for us when our flesh decides to be tempted with unhealthy foods or acts. .
Personally, the more I take care of my physical results the more spiritual results I get, the more hungry for God I am, the more closer to Him I am, I become super super sensitive to His voice... and that to me is the most beautiful thing. .
The Holy Spirit is THE BEST spiritual trainer who gives us wisdom for us to be physically FIT. .
I encourage you to keep a journal, I keep a journal for my well-being all around and it helps me in this area. Thankful! 🍎✅

It's crazy what 6 months in a journey can do. Like wow! I'm so proud of myself for being diligent, and commited to improving and taking care of myself. I think it's one of the most courageous things I've ever done. And trust me. I'm a pretty gutsy person.
Still so thankful for the ladies who provides the photos

A vitamin is an organic compound and an essential nutrient that an organism requires in limited amounts. An organic chemical compound is called a vitamin when the organism cannot make the compound in sufficient quantities, and it must be obtained through the diet; thus, the term vitamin is conditional upon the circumstances and the particular organism. For example, vitamin C is a vitamin for humans, but not most other animals which make enough internally. Vitamin D is essential only for people who do not have adequate skin exposure to sunlight, because the ultraviolet light in sunlight normally promotes synthesis of vitamin D. While vitamin supplements are important for the treatment of certain health problems, otherwise healthy people generally receive no benefit from using vitamin supplements.
The term was coined in 1912 by Polish-born biochemist Kazimierz (Casimir) Funk, who isolated a complex of micronutrients and proposed the complex be named vitamine. By convention the word vitamin does not include other essential nutrients, such as dietary minerals, essential fatty acids and essential amino acids.Thirteen vitamins are universally recognized at present. Vitamins are classified by both biological and chemical activity, and not their structure. Each vitamin name (the word vitamin followed by a letter of the alphabet) refers to a number of vitamer compounds that all show the same biological activity. For example, vitamin A refers to the compounds retinal, retinol, and four known carotenoids. Vitamers by definition are convertible to the active form of the vitamin in the body, and are sometimes inter-convertible to one another as well. . .
