HEALTHY FATS🥑- don't forget about them in your nutrition plan ⚠️ They provide optimal fuel for your brain and heart, help absorb vitamins and minerals into your body, they are a vital part of the membrane that surrounds each cell of the body and help reduce cholesterol level. Where to look for healthy fats? 👀 My favorite sources are: avocado, coconut, grass-fed beef, salmon, nuts, whole eggs and oils. But there are many types of oils on the market, you can really get confused. Here in my post, you can see which are present in my kitchen and how I use them.
1. 👉🏼🥜 Almond Oil - it's one of the tastiest oils, I use it mainly raw for salad dressings but also for baked pastries.
2. 👉🏼🥑 Avocado Oil - I love this one because it doesn't have any smell or taste (barely a hint of avocado flavor), so I use it for everything: meat, fish, salads, I even add it to smoothies or sprinkle it on popcorn for a healthy butter replacement.
3. 👉🏼🥥 Coconut Oil - although its bad reputation lately, I still include it in my nutrition plan in moderation, coconut oil is very stable and can withstand high cooking temperatures, I use it for baking, roasting, frying and it's an important ingredient in my morning bullet-proof coffee, my favorite one is from @womensbest.
4. 👉🏼🍃 Extra Virgin Olive Oil - I use it mainly raw or slightly heated, it's perfect drizzled on vegetables and used to make vinaigrettes for salads. Many people suggest not to cook with olive oil but I sometimes do, however I raise the temperature gradually and I am not even close to reach its smoke point.
When eaten in large amounts, all fats, including healthy fats, can contribute to weight gain. But when you eat them in right amount, you’ll see your hunger cuts down, your brain wakes up and your metabolism kicks into gear.
