Donut be fooled by this picture. What I have in my hand is actually a salad. A healthy, delicious and nutritious salad. Ok, I am totally kidding this is actually a donut 😱😋 . . I know my page is mostly about healthy eating and nutritious meal ideas, but I don’t always eat like that and it’s not because I have no self control (although sometimes that can be the case - like who eats a bag of flaming hot Cheetos? 🙋🏻‍♀️) It’s because that’s just the way I like to live my life. I have gotten some criticism over choosing to eat McDonald’s from time to time and the one thing I say to that is - live and let live. I don’t need to be a size zero, I am not that concerned about my cellulite, and I have a mom pooch that I’ve embraced. I love to eat healthy, but I also love a good bacon cheeseburger with fries and ice cream. I also don’t feel guilty for eating like this. Some people like to eat 90/10 (90% clean/10%cheat meals) and fabulous if that works for them. I’m more 50/50 because I believe in equality 😋 . . Breakfast sliders 🍔 A quick, nutrient dense but delicious way to start your Saturday! - roasted sweet potato bun, avocado, bacon, grassfed beef patty and a splash of ketchup 🥑🥓💦😋
Turkey Meatloaf with Smashed Sweet Potatoes. I was inspired by @therealfoodrds mini meatloaf cakes (check their feed out- great ideas) But since I’m currently not eating beef I went the turkey route. I have to say I was hesitant about making meatloaf out of turkey but it end up being pretty darn good❤️. I will say the one man that I was feeding would have prefer beef but all the women enjoy it!! Served it with salad on the side. My measurements are approximate: 2 lb ground turkey (I used dark meat to ensure moisture) I may try 1lb white & 1lb dark next time. 2 flaxseed egg replacers (2 tbsp of flaxseed to 6 tbsp water let set 10 mins) 1 sautéed chopped onion & 4 garlic cloves 1 - 2 tbsp coco aminos 1 tsp balsamic vinegar Tons of seasonings —use what you like but I used...oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, red pepper flakes and 1/4 cup fresh parsley (I think that was everything🤔). Basically the whole spice cabinet...😂. Baked at 400 for about 50 mins. Topping was frozen smashed sweet potatoes bag I got from Trader Joe’s. Highly recommend them no other ingredients were added just sweet potatoes👍🏻👍🏻 and it was super quick and easy. Just add to a pot with a little water and warm. I did add just a little almond flour (maybe 1/2 - 1 tsp) to thicken it so I could used my cake decorating tips and pipe it on top of the meatloaf. Tried my hand this morning at making some #nosugar #jam with frozen #blackberries we picked in August and #chia seeds. Took 20mins #recipe below. Served up on a buckwheat pancake made by @evebloss3_ 🤩🤩 🙏Blackberry & Chia Jam #healthyeats 1. On a low-med heat add your blackberries (I used frozen ones) to a non-stick saucepan and bring them to a simmer till they soften. 5-7 mins 2. With a potatoe masher crush them a little squeezing out the juices leaving some whole for texture. Keep stirring. 5 mins 3. Add 3 tbsp of Chia seeds and lower the heat and allow the mix to thicken stirring all the time. 4. Take off heat. Add half tsp of vanilla extract. Add agave syrup/raw honey to taste if you want to sweeten it!

✨Saturddayyyyyy! ✨There is something about Saturday morning, especially if you have no plans. Maybe you got to sleep in a little more, make yourself a nice breakfast... well, if you haven’t yet you need to try this warm baked bosc pear bowl. So 👏🏻 good 👏🏻!!•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup cooked oats with almond milk 1/4 cup chopped green apple 1/8 cup dried cherries 1 packet stevia sprinkle of cinnamon 1 TBS pb 1/2 @larabar cherry pie bar 1 Bosc pear sliced and baked •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• DIRECTIONS: Set oven to 400 degrees Slice pear (not completely through) spray with coconut oil and add a dash of cinnamon. Bake until softened and golden brown about 15 minutes. Cook oats according to package directions and add apple until soft! Place in bowl, add Lara bar, peanut butter, pear, cherries and sprinkle with cinnamon! Enjoy! Se sube bastante,ten cuidado! Llevalo solo 30 sg al micro porque si le dejas más se pone mega duro. Y listo!!. hello to all bolognese lovers. this 🍝 VEGAN MUSHROOM & WALNUT BOLOGNESE 🍝 is so damn delicious, not even an omnivore would miss the meat in it. the combination of the chewy mushrooms and crunchy walnuts, seasoned with some different spices, are the perfect companion for my next pasta evening. like many families, spaghetti bolognese was a staple in our house growing up and after making this plant based walnut mushroom ‘meat’ for the first time a few months back, i could hardly contain my excitement. eureka! this was the familiar bolognese of my youth! not only was it a traditional family favourite, but this delicious version is made with kinder, healthier ingredients and i honestly don’t think anyone would know the difference 🤫// as the niece of an italian aunt, my childhood was filled with the most incredible italian food. i loved my aunt’s cooking, but what i loved even more was my granny beth’s cooking. whenever we made the drive to her place 🚗 (usually 3:00am), my granny beth would have a pot of pasta sauce and sausage on the stove. then, she’d fill our plates and order us to eat. i haven’t lost my affection for italian cooking since going mostly plant-based, and though i don’t eat meat, i do miss my grandmother’s meat sauce. so, i had to come up with an alternative vegan bolognese that would warm my tummy and my heart the way my granny beth’s sauce used to. and after countless try and error, this recipe was born! 🙌🏻// i’m getting a head start on my number one new year’s resolution this year. in 2019, i want my family to start cooking mostly plant-based meals during the week and of course, eat more veggies 🌱 i just finished eating this plate and i freaking loved it!!! new favourite veg bolognese guys 👍🏻 in my pre-plant-based days, i used to love a good bowl of spaghetti bolognese, but i haven’t really found a non-meat recipe that i was more than “meh, i ‘spose that was okay”…. until now! even the carnivores in my family said it was good, and they were rather sceptical before eating it! 😋 (recipe in comments)
