This week I listened to an amazing Podcast by @tombilyeu where he interviewed Alex Banayan. This was super simple, I just boiled some cut up skinned sweet potatoes until semi soft and then drained and mashed with some sweet cultured cream butter, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cumin. Blackened Salmon Tacos with sweet forbidden rice and an incredible mango guacamole. 🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑 INGREDIENTS For the rice: 3/4 cup uncooked forbidden rice (black rice) For the salmon: 1 pound fresh salmon (I prefer wild /organic from Natures Emporium) 1 tablespoon blackening seasoning For the mango guacamole: 1 medium ripe avocado 1/4 cup diced red onion 1/2 jalapeno, seeded and minced 1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro 1 ripe mango, diced Zest and juice of 1 small lime Salt and pepper to taste For the tacos: 8 corn tortillas To garnish: extra cilantro & diced red onion . . Currently in the airport waiting to board my third flight of the day (pretty tired and jet lagged 😂) and reminiscing on allll the good food I ate while in Europe! Seriously can’t get over how tasty and light everything is 🙌🏼 I usually break out when I eat gluten in the U.S., but the wheat is processed so differently in Europe, so I was actually able to eat some gluten and feel great! Definitely going to miss all of the gelato the most 🍧And I didn’t get to try a few flavors I was hoping to try, so that’s a good enough reason to go back right?! 😛 I hope you guys have had a great day! I’m sure you have all encountered the floppy celery, or bendy radish, or wilted kale, but did you know if you let them sit in ice water for 10-20 mins they will crisp up again? And be almost crunchier than before?! Yeah, I know, MAGIC! . Here is a beautiful purple radish 💜 that I bought at the Oakland farmers market this weekend and kept forgetting that I had bought it. 🙄 Typical Heather! So I sliced it up and let it chill (literally) in some ice water. VIOLA! Crispy, crunchy, fresh radish slices!!! 💜💜💜
These veggies might look humble but this is a tasty bowl of nutrition! 🥦🥕🥗 Broccoli, carrots, peas, zucchini and onion all sautéed to perfection in coconut oil, salt, and pepper. 🍲 . Regardless of what you’re eating, aim to have a hefty side of veggies to prevent you from overeating on starchy carbs or animal protein. CRISP SEARED SALMON DINNER By: @sara.haven 🥘 . Salmon: - season salmon fillet with sea salt and black pepper. In a non-stick pan, heat 1 tsp. avocado oil (or garlic ghee) for one minute. Add salmon filet, skin side up, and sear for 3 minutes, then flip and let it finish cooking on its skin (approx. 4 mins). . Tuscan herb & parmesan green beans: -toss green beans in Tuscan herb olive oil (or other herb infused oil), sea salt, and pepper. Roast at 400F for 10-15 minutes or until crisp tender. Sprinkle with parmesan _. Roasted garlic & herb pasta: -toss cooked Eat Banza noodles with olive oil, fresh parsley, roasted garlic, and parmesan.

Another chocolate and peanut butter masterpiece that tastes like a chocolate milkshake, but it’s healthy! What’s better than that? 💁🏻 This chocolatey delight is full of protein, vitamins, minerals, and healthy carbohydrates to fuel you! In this smoothie I put: 6 ice cubes 1 frozen banana 1 handful spinach 1 scoop of Vega Chocolate and Greens protein 1 heaping spoonful of peanut butter And put in a lil almond milk ( I usually fill the blender with the ingredients and then pour the almond milk, filling it up to about 1/4 of the ingredients in the blender). Blend that bad boy up and enjoy my friends! Also add some granola on top, it makes it better😜😉 For the perfect creamy smoothie consistency: start by adding ice on the bottom, then the frozen ingredients, then your fresh fruit or veggies, then your powders. The harder frozen stuff goes on the bottom near the blade!

Full of color....😍 🌈 . **Made with baby greens, watermelon radishes, heirloom tomatoes, vidalia onions, microgreens, cucumbers that are hidden underneath everything 🤨 and edible flowers 🌸😃.....finally found them in Whole Foods 😍 **Dressing,...I mixed avocado oil, balsamic vinegar, pomegranate juice, Himalayan salt and garlic. Mix together in a mason jar and voila!!! Hello lovely people !!! Hope you had a great week. I was hurting (chronic pain an all) so i wasnt feeling like cooking anything fancy so no youtube video no instagram ^^ but I'm feeling better. Hot fower, laying down ... Are my best friends 😅💞 I should have made a video recipe for this salad but I was supposed to make somthing that you have already seen ... But in the midle i just pimped and changed it a lot ^^ SH*T ... Sooo recipe : - 1 small purple cabbage - 5 carrots - 2 handfull of baby spinach - 2 red onions - 1 can of lentils - 1 can of chickpeas - 1 big bunch of cilantro - 1 big bunch of mint Cut the cabbage and carrots, put them in a big bowl, cover with very hot water , add 2 tbsp of vinegar and let it sit during the rest of the recipe . Cut the onion, mint, cilantro, add the baby spinach, lentils and chickpeas. Sauce : 1 cup of cashew 2 big tsp of dijon mustard Salt and pepper 2 lemon juice 1 cup of water ( more if needed) Blend everything until smooth and creamy but not too thick Drain and rince the cabbage and carrot mix add them to the rest with the sauce and mix well ! Bon appetit ! 🎆😍

I made this channa masala in less than 20 minutes and ended up with 5 solid lunches for the week! You can't beat it. Dish inspired by a lovely cookbook, The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook. It's a life-saver. Recipe: 2 cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed 1/4 cup water 2 cups indian simmer sauce 3 cups frozen cauliflower 1/2 lemon, juiced 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped steamed brown rice and/or naan, for serving Add chickpeas, simmer sauce, cauliflower and water to instant pot and stir well. Secure lid, set pressure release to sealing. Select bean/chili setting, set cook time to 3 min at high pressure. After 3 min, move pressure release to venting. Once pot is open, stir in lemon juice and cilantro. . . . . .

Happy Friday peeps 🤩 hope you guys have had a good week, whether that’s back at uni or perhaps going to the Kendrick concert 🤙🏼 this was a lunch I had while back home - quinoa, peas and coriander dressed with avocado oil and lemon juice + a runny fried egg 🍳 tbh I haven’t done much cooking since I’ve been back in Dunedin, but going to sit down tonight to look through recipes and plan my meals for next week 💛
Tonight’s Dinner was oh so EASY...thanks to @pol_brand. Path Of Life Pre Cooked Frozen Sides saves me sometimes 🤷🏼‍♀️ This is there Garlic, Kale Quinoa. All I had to do was put it in a pot and heat it up. NO Weird Ingredients. Just REAL Food, seasoned perfect, and makes me look like I can cook quinoa 😂 • • While the Quinoa warmed up I cooked a piece of Cod(seasoned w/s&p, garlic powder) in my @allclad pan over medium heat with @chosenfoods Avocado Oil, Lemon 🍋 and Tomatoes. Flipping once to cook through. • • Plated it all and topped with Lemon Thyme, Basil, Capers, and a squirt of Lemon. 😋😋 Super EASY and Delicious 🙌🏻 #SouthernHealthyLiving
