6 years ago I learned that I emotionally ate. I believed that food was the enemy. I believed in ‘good food’ and ‘bad food’ I punished and shamed myself when I ate ‘bad food’ 🙄 I only loved myself when I ate ‘good food’ I thought I was more worthy when I ate ‘good food’ 😒 What a toxic way of thinking.
4 years ago I took this picture. I recently found it while going through my Dropbox account. It was outside a church and although I am not religious this message spoke to me. I didn’t fully understand it until now.
My perception of what I ate harmed my soul. It tarnished the faith I had in myself and my worthiness. I felt so ashamed of my emotional eating that punished myself by eating irresponsibly until I passed out. If I felt sad, I ate. If I was anxious, I ate. If felt alone, I ate. If I was stressed out, I ate. If something triggered a bad memory, I ate. I repeated the cycle over and over and over for years. I’ve literally lost and gained over 200 pounds.
It took me a lot of reading, counseling, reflection, self compassion and self love to understand where my toxic beliefs regarding food came from. It took a long time, but now I understand.
Fast forward to today. This message makes so much sense. There is no such thing as bad food or good food. Only always and sometimes food that is meant to be enjoyed responsibly. I no longer base my worthiness on what I eat and what others think of my eating. I understand that my toxic beliefs really did harm my soul - not the actual food itself.
If you want to understand and heal your relationship with food, I highly recommend starting out with reading the book Nourishing Wisdom by Marc David. I’m sending positive vibes out there to everyone who is struggling. You can overcome 🙌🏽💪🏽💜

Flourless Butter Pumpkin Brownie⠀
1 1/2 cups smashed pumpkin ⠀
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter ⠀
4-5 TBSP agave nectar or maple syrup⠀
4 TBSP raw cacao⠀
Mix all ingredients and bake at 180 degrees Celsius (350-355 Fahrenheit).⠀
Let sit in the fridge for a few hours and top with more dark chocolate sauce (mix a few tsp of coconut cream with dark chocolate and some sweetener)...and walnuts. ⠀

- Main topic of our Coaches meeting on Wednesday was back pain.
With us reviewing research and knowledge we have collated and seeing if our system for when we have clients with a history of various levels of back pain could be improved. Plus, this meant a review of our programme and assessments in general. All to ensure we are doing all we can, to both help those with back pain and reduce the chances of our members developing back pain from things prescribed to them in our programmes.
When leading expert in back pain research Dr Stuart McGill @backfitpro
says that most people referred to him have symptoms caused by trainers/coaches, however trainers/coaches can be the most effective professional in reducing back pain. We know which we would rather be and although we have had lots of success helping many people who have come to us with back pain where other training has not helped, it is important we always keep reviewing and looking at ways to improve.
Movement can be medicine for the body but like any medicine the wrong prescription or amount will have a negative effect. So it is important to us to ensure we reduce the risk of the wrong perscription.
Just making things we do 1% better can have a massive impact in us achieving our purpose, which is to have a positive impact on our clients long-term health so they can achieve their long-term goals and feel empowered to change their life.

Idk how many times I get told that loosing weight came easy to me. Or how I’m so tiny I need to eat!! Do have any idea how this makes me feel? It hurts!! It was not easy for me to loose 91lbs and it’s has not been easy to keep it off! I worked extremely hard to be where Iam today.. Eating healthier isn’t always easy what most people don’t know about me is I have to work 10x harder than most to loose it! if I even eat a cookie or donut I gain 5lbs.. what most don’t know is I used to hide behind hoodies and big clothes I would lay in my bed and just cry I hated the way i looked and felt it also didn’t help I got bullied in school! I would seriously hide in my house and avoid any social gathering or hanging out with my friends bec I didn’t like what my body looked like! Not every has good metabolism and so easy for them to eat anything and everything they want and stay skinny. So don’t judge y’all you have no idea what that girl had go through to be were she is at now!
This was dinner last night, and man did it hit the spot - roasted chicken thighs with pumpkin and pomegranate. ⠀
If you want something simple and flavorful you’re going to want to make this. Toss boneless, skinless chicken thighs and pumpkin slices with sliced onion, Zaatar, and olive oil. Roast in a 400 degree oven for 40-45 minutes until golden brown. Top with pomegranate seeds and pumpkin seeds. ⠀

I am so so so so so excited, but so nervous. I don’t do these things. I’m shy. I’m quiet. I’m awkward. I freak out when I have to step out of my comfort zone. But I know I can do it. I know I can break out of my shell. I know I can better myself.⠀
Tomorrow I am meeting up with a bunch of local Massachusetts coaches. We are all getting together to hear and learn from some of the leaders in this business. We will be getting new business updates and just learning how to be successful. We will all be working out together with one of the trainers in this business. And we will get to mingle and socialize. SOCIALIZE. - I’m so bad at this! Little shy me doesn’t do that!⠀
But guess what? Tomorrow I am!! I am obsessed with this business and what it will bring for my future. So I’m doing it. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and breaking out of my shell. I can’t wait!⠀
