Food can heal or harm. You make that choice every day by what you put on your fork. Food literally talks to our genes. Food is not just a source of calories, it is also a source of information. The sad truth is that much of what we eat is not really food. At least, it has been so adulterated and processed we may as well not call it food. It is more of a food-like substance. The key is to send the right information to your genes by eating whole, real, food—mostly plants. Specific nutrients or plant compounds bind to receptors in cells, translating messages from the foods we eat or vitamins we take in into instructions that are carried out by our cells through their effect on our DNA. What you put on your fork is the most important thing you do every day. It influences your capacity to live a rich, energetic, connected, soulful life— a life in which you have the energy to care for yourself, to love your friends and family, to help your neighbor, to fully show up for your work in the world, and to live your dreams. Simply put: Food is the doorway to living well and loving well—and to fixing much of what’s wrong with our world.⠀

Slowly getting back into clean eating, messed it up completely last year June. So I’ve started again and just starting with no processed carbs and sugar for 2 weeks. I’m learning to improvise and starting to practice healthy cooking and baking. I think healthy eating can be delicious as well, we just have to think outside of the box. I feel that God’s given us the freedom of choice, and it’s up to us what we choose . It’s simple and easy but we as human beings always somehow find a way to make excuses. In saying that change doesn’t happen over night, but practice makes perfect and eventually it becomes second nature. People say why limit yourself from eating bad foods, what kind of life is that. I see it this way, it’s a mind,body and soul transformation. It’s about making better choices to better yourself so that you can help others transform their lives for the better. These are some words the fitness industry uses to trick people into buying their product or service, promising some outrageous results. Fitness is simple, make good choices with diet and exercise and try to do that everyday 👌🏼 consistency always beats “guaranteed fast results”. Make the choice today and don’t fall for these fitness buzzwords!
Ran the Honor Flight 5K at the Bull Falls Brewery in Wausau. Ended up running it in a time of 20:14 and getting 5th overall of over 1900. All the proceeds went towards the Never Forgotten Honor Flight that flies our veterans from World War ll, Korean and the Vietnam War to Washington DC to view the memorials and monuments. My dad who is a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran will take the flight this fall. I was happy to contribute and let’s not stop until every single veteran takes this flight! #neverforgottenhonorflight

Photo on the left was before I started the 21 day fix extreme, photo on the right is 15 days later. I've stuck with proper nutrition, drank my healthy (and so yummy) shakes each day, and daily workouts that are only 30 minutes long (in the comfort of my own livingroom🙌🏻) I'm so happy I started this program... Stop wishing you were reaching your goals & just do it! No More silence, Stop Gun Violence! If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. As a mother I can’t not show support to these children. I never had to fear being in school and they shouldn’t have to either. It’s already trying enough to be a child and a teenager. As they read the names of the children and teachers who have recently lost their lives to hate I couldn’t help but tear up because all I could think was what if it was my child. I thought what if it was one of my cousins, nieces, nephew, or just anyone I know. It’s not fair. Schools are supposed to by safe places! They have enough issues with hormones, grades, peers, sports, and everything else children worry about. No child should be scared to learn, no teacher should be scared to teach, and no parent should fear leaving their child in a learning environment. Today opened my eyes up so much! Below is a MUST try recipe for fudgey chocolate cookies that you dont need to feel bad about:
1/4 c olive oil
1/2 c apple sauce
1/3 c maple syrup
1/4 c almond milk
1/3 c coconut flour
1/4 c whole wheat flour
1/2 c cocoa powder
1/4 dark chocolate chips
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes!
You don’t always have to be motivated to smash out a gym session.
Today I felt unmotivated, tired and didn’t want to work out. All I wanted to do was lay in bed.. (then my Apple Watch told me to get up) 🤔
So I got up and went to the gym and smashed out a 30 minute HITT session. Wasn’t the longest work out but I’m glad I got the heart rate up and had a bit of a sweat.
