Macronutrients, or “macros,” are the building blocks of nutrition. You probably know them better as carbohydrate, protein, and fat. Macros are the nutrients you need in large amounts, as they provide your body with the calories it needs to function. (Micronutrients include vitamins and minerals, and although they’re essential for good health, they don’t provide any calories and only trace amounts are needed.) It can get a little confusing, because people often refer to foods as macros: saying bread and pasta are “carbs,” and talking about meat as “protein.” Those foods contain more of that specific macronutrient than the others. But macros are just the individual elements, and most foods are made up of a blend of all three—pasta actually contains a little protein, and meat definitely has fat! Understanding macros can help you lay a solid foundation for a balanced diet.
Carbohydrate + Protein + Fat = Total Calories
It's so easy to get caught up in self doubt or to not think you are doing enough.🙅♀️
For the last couple of weeks I have found myself doing it more times than I like to admit.
I have to reassure myself every day I am doing enough,to be kind to yourself and cut ya self some slack! 💓
Recovering from multiple surgeries hasn't been easy,it's definitely taken a toll on my mental health. 😴
But one thing I do for myself, everyday is to get out and soak up the sunshine. And try these 6 things:
• Doing something nice for yourself.
• Get some fresh air & sunshine.
• Practice self affirmations.
• Read a book.
• Take a break from social media.
• Go for a walk. 🏃♀️ Sometimes a bit of fresh air & sunshine can do wonders for your mind, body & soul. 🙏
I try not to get caught up in self doubt, but if I do I teach myself self affirmations and do something nice for myself! 💕

~ EATING OUT ~
This amazing meal is from @thenookwholefoods.
If you eat out now and then, please eat what you most desire. However, if eating out is a regular occurrence I thought it might be helpful to give you so tips on ‘eating healthy whilst eating out.’ Here are my top tips: .
. • Pick healthy cafes/ restaurants where possible. This includes wholefood cafes and restaurants where they serve fresh produce eg. Japanese restaurant.
• Go for vegetables first. Either choose a meal loaded with veggies or order yourself a side salad/steamed veggies.
• Go for lean protein. Think steamed/grilled/ baked fish, chicken or tofu.
• Avoid heavy sauces. Food that is fresh is usually full of flavour. Avoid heavy sauces that are filled with additives, not to mention energy dense.
• Eat slowly and mindfully. Remember that serving sizes can increase when eating out. Be mindful of this. When you are full, it is okay to leave some food on the plate - you can always take it home! . • Avoid heavy carbohydrate sides eg white bread/garlic bread. This is okay to have on occasion but it can add nutrient poor additional energy to your daily intake.
• Opt for water or herbal tea with your meal (coffee of morning). Avoid alcoholic beverages most of the time. I always follow 80/20 rule. .
Remember - you always want to leave the dinner table with more energy than when you sat down. .

Who loves gooey, chocolatey, nutty cookies? 🙈🙋🏼♀️ These white chocolate and macadamia cookies are gluten free and refined sugar free (they could also be dairy free if you’d like!) 🍪 The best kind of cookie to me is one which is still soft and chewy when you bite into it, not hard as a rock. These only take 10 minutes to cook which makes them quick, easy and the flavour of them is DELICIOUS! 😋 —
Ingredients: * 1 cup gf all-purpose flour * 1 tsp cornflour * 3/4 tsp baking powder * 1/4 tsp salt * 1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil * 1 large egg white, at room temperature * 1 tbsp milk, at room temperature * 2 tsp vanilla essence * 1/2 cup unrefined coconut sugar * 1 1/2 tbsp white chocolate, chopped
* 1 tbsp macadamias, chopped
Method: * Mix flour, cornflour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. * Whisk coconut oil, egg white, milk and vanilla essence in a separate bowl. * Stir in coconut sugar into wet mix, then stir the dry mix into the wet mix until just combined.
* Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
* Let the mixture chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. * Spoon the mixture onto baking paper, and press extra chopped white chocolate and macadamias into each cookie. * Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven. Move cookies from the baking tray to a wire rack after 10 minutes to cool.
Just after they come out of the oven, I recommend that you sprinkle a tiny bit of sea salt on them to really enhance the flavour. Hi my name is Gabriela & I am #bold
But lately I have been marinating with the reality that when it comes to #isagenix
I can be #fearful
of what you might think of this journey and what we are doing 😑
When I first started isagenix in #February #2018
I was 184lbs which doesn’t seem like much but it was heavy to me however immediately after I started the isagenix system I lost almost 23lbs. Which was a relief after I had gained my baby weight back from my first child 🤰🏽
Being pregnant again has been interesting. Especially when right before you made a decision to train yourself to be the healthiest you’ve ever been 🧘🏾♀️💪🏽
💡🤔 But what a better time to start thinking about what you are consuming and putting into your body and how we treat it.
When I feel great inside and out I have always been one to want to make that contagious
That’s all we really want. Thank you @barbarah1218
for making me step outside my #comfortzone
In a calorie deficit but not losing fat/weight? - You are eating more than you think or more than you are tracking. When counting calories it is important to be as accurate as possible. *A handful of nuts could be 100 or 500 calories* - You are retaining water. You might have lost fat but the scales don't change due to the amount of water storing in your cells. Could be caused by not drinking enough water, raise in cortisol levels (stress) or consuming too much sodium. - Your calories are too low causing you to move less, jeopardizing the energy deficit. (Taking the lift instead of the stairs, skipping the odd gym session, asking your partner to walk the dog).

Train Tuesday 👊💪 having just moved one of my priorities is finding a good gym, think of it what you want, but it’s crucial to me and my lifestyle! Going to a gym can sometimes make you feel nervous (I always do especially with mostly using the machines we have in our garage at home!) so came up with some things I do to help combat the nerves!! 1) have a plan - on paper, on a note on your phone, whatever works for you then you won’t be wandering! 2) have a plan b - what can you do if that machine or area is taken? 3) go at a less busy time if possible so it is less overwhelming (6-9 pm is usually prime time in London!), 4) don’t worry about the stares, people are so focused on what they are doing, that they aren’t staring at you (and if they are, stare back until they feel uncomfortable 😉) and 5) find a good playlist and play it loud (works as motivation too!) if you are in your own zone, it’s less likely people will bother you ☺️ gyms can be overwhelming places, and some people choose not to go because of this, but if you do see someone a bit lost - smile at them 😌 p.s. do you even fitness if you don’t pose like this 🤷♀️ #traintuesday #training #gym
