Here’s the deal.....
It’s my hubbys birthday and I could’ve had the cake 🎂. We all have choices! But ya girls got goals! So instead, I opted for my own chocolate treat. One that is filled with amazing nutrients and superfoods.
I don’t talk too much about this secret of mine, but man - it’s been KEY 🔑 to my overall wellness. And to be honest, I didn’t miss the cake!
I drink these puppies every single day for a variety of reasons:
- Satisfies my sweet tooth
- Good for my gut health
- Fills me up
- Full of awesome ingredients
- Tastes delish! 😋
Cheers to 43 years babe!
I fell in love with salads all over again.
Salomon, greens and peanut butter sauce 🤔 anyone have a recipe for the sauce? It was soo good.
I am going to make this when we get home.
I 💚 second breakies when pregnant!⠀
Pre-pregnancy the average woman is recommended to consume 1800-2200 calories. With singleton pregnancies this increases to 2500 minimum, for twin pregnancy 3500 minimum, and for triplet or quadruple pregnancies 4500 (source: La Leche League Mothering Multiples Book).⠀
As there ain't much room for your stomach to fit a large meal, this means eating often! All calories are NOT equal. Make sure to get yours from wholefoods.⠀
Here I enjoyed sprouted rye, with sunny-side-up eggs and sauteed kale in coconut oil and seasoned with Himalayan Rock Salt.
Heaps of minerals, good fats, choline, folate...YUM!⠀
Everyone could stand to eat more vegetables right? One recommendation I usually make to my clients when they ask me what they should eat is simply to start with veggies. .
So when the question turns to, but WHAT do I put on my plate? And HOW? And what about when I'm at a wedding and there's a buffet and, what if and what if etc. I usually say, get your vegetables first. Then get the other stuff. Fill half your plate with something that came from the earth and doesn't have a bunch of crap added to it - I see you weird potato casserole with corn flakes on top, you don't count.
If you get half of your meal in volume from veggies, you're doing pretty good I think, so that's my free tip for day: serve yourself the veggies first and then prioritize the other half of your plate how you like!
I've made a random and totally non-thought out goal of making my plates 75% plants lately. I've been showing them all in my stories if you want to follow along!
How do you make sure to eat enough vegetables? Tips and tricks? 👇
You're pregnant, your baby bump has just started to show (maybe 😁) and you're CRAMPING.
After one miscarriage and three healthy babies earth side, I always get anxious everytime there is a tiny cramp.
But before you get too alarmed know that cramping during pregnancy is NORMAL. It's not something on it's own to be worried about.
Those cramping feelings are often times caused by the uterus expanding, which is a good thing, because it means your baby is growing! YAY!
You might even experience some sharper pains commonly called round ligament pain which is normal as well.
So if you're in your first trimester and feeling like a Nervous Nelly take a warm (not hot) bath and relax you're body is doing exactly what God designed it to do.
***if you do however experience other concerning symptoms along with cramping trust your gut. A phone call to your midwife or ob never hurts and can ease your mind.
We had the BEST dinner experience tonight! I saw on a Ff Knox Facebook page that this local BBQ chain was doing a Halloween event and they also had free kids meals so we decided to check it out. When we got there (with a Batman and an Ariel in tow) it was an hour wait but we only waited about 20 minutes. We got an order of pickle chips because I had a free coupon and they were unlike any I’d ever had-a huge basket of thinly sliced fried pickle chips and they were delicious. I got brisket with mac and cheese and spicy fries. It was all really good. We were really impressed with the quality of everything, the flavor, and the price! Everything seems cheap now after Portland so the giant beers we got for $4 each sold us on returning again 🍺. Every day we have been in Kentucky has made us happier to be here 🙌🏻😊. We signed for our new house today and we should have our household goods delivered by Friday so we are feeling super blessed!
You’re not always going to FEEL like starting.
You’re not always going to have the motivation.
And if you’re like me, you’re never going to actually WANT to do it.
But you HAVE to. Just like you have to do all those other things that you don’t really want to do.
Thankfully, pressing play is part of my “job” and I have a group of other ladies keeping me accountable... otherwise, I know it wouldn’t get done.
So if you’re struggling to start today, it’s never too late. Just get up and do the damn thing. Just. Start.
And if you need help or would like the extra accountability, enrollment for my next challenge group is open and I’m here to help you. Send me a DM and I’ll share with you all the deets!

Do you skip the stretch?!?! Post workout, or even just after a long day?
The “cool down stretch” is WAY too important to skip. Whether you work out or not, stretching tight muscles can reduce future injury and pain.
He’s a short one (sped up) from today’s workout.
Starting from a child’s pose, stretch your arms long out in front. Sit back on your heels.
Next, step one foot out in a runner’s lunge making sure your knee does not go further than your toe. Then shift weight back for a nice hamstring stretch. Repeat other side.
Stand up, clasp hands behind you, look up towards the ceiling followed by a big, cleansing breath.
Today was all about the veggies! I decided to prep some colorful options for the next few days. On the menu:
1️⃣ Shredded Brussels sprouts with bacon
2️⃣ Broccoli slaw with oil, amino acids, and garlic 3️⃣ Zucchini, squash, tomatoes with oil & balsamic vinegar
I keep my meals super simple most day. But it's fun sometimes to try new recipes!
I remember when I got serious about my food choices, it was helpful that my coach at the time shared many recipes. Her recipes helped me gain confidence in experimenting with "new to me" foods. It gave me a good foundation (along with her magical coaching!) to fuel my body for results plus feel amazing.
# 👀Did you know that my Nourish 6 Week program includes 6 weeks of group done-for-you meal ideas and shopping lists? No, it's not essential that you follow each meal. You can follow the nutrition guidelines with your meal preferences and still earn great results.

We made a deal.
Men, babies, it doesn’t matter.
You have all heard the crazy stats by now... The highest percentage of overweight and obese people live in the U.S.
160 million Americans are overweight or obese.
Almost 75% of the male population, 60% of the female population and 30% of children under age 20 are overweight or obese.
Take a second and read those stats again. This is CRAZY!
Personally, I am most worried about the children. Adults can make changes for themselves...children rely on us.
So what if we started to make changes...small ones that helped to put a tiny dent in these numbers?
What if we drank one more glass of water every day?
What if we ate one less fast food meal every week?
What if we chose one meal a day to eat clean, organic and nonGMO?
Would we see a change in ourselves? Absolutely! But more importantly...the children in our lives would see those changes and benefit from them.
You know, those kids who watch everything you do. The ones who want to be just like you. The ones who watch you fail AND succeed. Why don't you try it for them?

Is it just me or does anyone else celebrate their 'Day we met' anniversary? For us it's a special day and one we try and celebrate every year. Hint: it involves @marchetoronto
On Sunday we celebrated 6 years by taking our daughter to the spot it all started. A bit of a surreal moment for me.
Read my recent blog post to find out how the story behind how I met my hubby and what we did to celebrate our anniversary this year. (Link in bio) 💻 madetomama.com/blog/the-story-of-how-we-met .
5’9”;269-163;size 22ish-8/10;size 2x-S/M; took 13ish months;lost it using weight watchers online 🤗 and by utilizing my Fitbit to track my activity&get at least 10,000 steps daily
Thankful literally every single morning to wake up in this smaller body. The body on the left hurt. My back hurt. My knees hurt. My stomach got in my way; physically and mentally. The body on the right is so in shape, I have to put in a hard gym workout to even get activity points on my Fitbit. My resting heart rate is in the 40s. I have no physical limitations anymore. I never have to say no to my kids anymore when they’re at bouncy houses and want me to go on the rides, when we’re at carnivals or on vacations where weight restrictions come into play. I can walk into any store and confidently know I’ll be able to find something that fits me AND that I like.
Learning to say no to yourself is absolutely worth the sacrifices of momentary satisfaction you’ll make. Being excited for special events VS not wanting to go due to your weight is absolutely worth the work you’ll put in. Being PROUD of yourself VS being angry at yourself for yet again not sticking to your plan is worth all the planning and discipline it takes. It’s all worth it. If you want to change, simply do it. No it’s not easy. Yes it’s 100% worth it. You’ve got this.

Do you wake up between 1 and 3 am? 🕰 Your body is trying to tell you something!
When a person has yeast overgrowth, the first major organ invaded by yeast is the liver. After months to years of continuing invasion into deeper tissues, It causes the liver to malfunction, either through direct poisoning or through interruption of the liver’s normal processes. The result is excess levels of toxin in the bloodstream, especially evident between 1 and 3 am when it appears the liver goes through a natural nightly change. These toxins are generally irritating to the nervous system, causing irritability, anxiety and panic, depression, racing or hard-beating heart, and of course insomnia. This explains why the mind is filled with thoughts and won’t turn off in the middle of the night. Yeast overgrowth is not your friend. This is why a probiotic (Plexus Probio5) with the ingredient #chitosanase
to kill the yeast overgrowth is so important for a good night’s sleep. 💖 I've seen a huge difference in my sleep, brain fog, night time cravings and more.#guthealth #fitmom #healthymom #strongmom #agingbackwards #prebioticos #probiotics #yogamom #feelbetter
“She makes parenting seem so easy, it’s not easy at all. She just posts the good stuff.” —-> I’ve heard that people have said this to others about me and I’ve had people say it to my face as well.
Here’s the thing... Parenting is NOT easy.
BUT...it’s a whole lot easier when you start babysitting at the age of 10. It’s a whole lot easier if you help your Mom with babies & kids even before that. It’s a whole lot easier when you start nannying when you’re 15 & continue to do it pretty much nonstop until you’re 28.
Maybe for me it might be easier than it is for most just because I’ve had A LOT of experience!
I wouldn’t go into an auto body shop expecting to know how to build a motor. They make it look pretty dang easy! BUT...Here’s the thing, the mechanics go to school, they work hard & practice their profession every single day.
Pro sports players sure make sports look easy right? Well, they’ve probably been practicing since they were little & hellooooo...they train every day.
I could keep going but you get the point!
Not many people know what the heck to do with a baby!! You have to learn!! AND....you have to relearn if you have more than one!
For those of you who’ve thought the thoughts above or said something... Remember...I’ve had A LOT of practice!! Do I get frustrated sometimes? YEP! Do I get annoyed? YEP. I’m human!
If you ever find yourself ever thinking that about me or anyone else...they’ve probably just had more time with kids && they truly love being a Momma. Nobody is a “better” parent than someone else. We’re all doing our best & we’re the best parents for our children.
P.s. YES...I also am extremely obsessed with being a Momma && I don’t give an F if anyone thinks I fake how much I love it! It’s real, complete insane love. Even the messy parts. 😜✌🏼 Think about this too - Nobody makes a career out of hanging out with kids who isn’t obsessed. (And if they aren’t, they’re cray, because we all know kids can be just that!!) Also...I did a thing and bought a domain name!!! —> Let the blogging begin!!! For now go follow my Mom insta that I share with my Sister who has 3 kids - mom_swag_and_diaper_bags 💫 📸@Shines

these are both me at 148. On the left, 2015, literally a cardio junkie just found I was about to be a mom. On the right, 2018, literally still a cardio junkie w/ a twist and a mother who can’t fit her underwear anymore 🙃 you have to be patient w/ yourself and trust the process. not just w/ you’re body, but that’s with your life. you can literally build your body. you don’t have to buy it. CONTACT ME TODAY by email or dm for more information.
Alright mom squad, lay it on me. I’ve heard it can be quite tough with two.
I’ve even read a few articles, which I should stop 🛑 immediately, about how the time just after the second child is often the worst time in a couples marriage 😭. Said article was actually posted in a mom group on Facebook where NOT ONE of the 15,000 members disagreed 🆘. Ok ok, not all of them commented but at any rate, it made me go, UH OH.
Please share, if not in comments, then in a DM or we can Marco Polo, what that time for you and your family was like. Hoping for the best over here 🤞🏼...
Everything is already so chaotic- i have a hard time imagining more chaos. I’ll have 10-11 weeks to try and get our act together afterwards but that’s really not so long... and I’ll still be acting as president of a not for profit and helping to plan an event with them during that time. Any advice, guidance, encouragement, or just level with me and tell me the good bad and ugly😂🤷🏼♀️ It’s all appreciated.
This isn’t a day/ night transformation... a quick transformation will not last. It’s all about making it a journey.
I get asked all the time what inspired me to change my lifestyle. It was when I reached my highest weight ever of 190 pounds.
I joined a challenge group (that I had turned down a billion times) with other women wanting to do the same thing... lose some weight and feel confident again. We shared our workouts, challenges, meals and more. It held me accountable. And still does to this very day.
I have fallen of track at times, been hit with some struggles... but I have never completely QUIT! Why?! Because I always have my team that keeps me going!! My number one excuse for not getting healthy was I don’t have time, well girl I’m here to tell you we all do have the time!! We just don’t want to DO IT!!
So get rid of your excuses and just do the dang thing!! I’m here to support you 💯%
You have to commit though.
If you’ve been thinking about joining me, this is your sign!!
#transformationjourney #neverquit #mombod #joinmeorwatchme
I just came across several different research articles that were all saying the same thing and I’m mind blown. At the beginning of pregnancy, dad’s genes are largely responsible for developing the placenta, while mom’s genes are largely responsible for developing baby’s head and brain. All the genetic research goes way over my head, so I’ll need the help of my nerdy husband (typical) to piece more of this genetic stuff together. 😉 But the little I do understand about genes, dad’s good and bad genes can be turned on or off by lifestyle and environmental factors. So dad’s, help yo momma and baby out and turn off those bad genes!! 🤘🏼
I am not photogenic by any means!! Haha, this picture proves it for sure. Galveston wasn't too bad on Saturday except the sand was hard due to all the rain :( Enjoyed the ocean waves and watching people play in the water tho, and discovered a free ferry ride that I got to see dolphins on 💜💜💜
This 🙌🏼 is 🙌🏼 so 🙌🏼 real 🙌🏼 So many things in life we are afraid of doing.
But we regret more of what we don’t do than of what we do.
This has been a huge block for me in the past with my business but I am moving forward and choosing love over fear.
Please be here with us and share something you were afraid of doing that went for it it worked out! (In life or business) (Like maybe even commenting on this post)
Let’s be real and raw and vulnerable together!
