Let’s talk stretching! Who actually takes the time after a workout to stretch? Pre back injury 2 years ago I didn’t. I didn’t have the time. It was up, roll out of bed, train and run straight upstairs to the shower to get ready for work. It took me really hurting myself to re-evaluate my morning routine and spend 5 minutes before my workout mobilising my muscles and joints and 5 minutes post workout to stretch! The benefits to my body and my results have been amazing and now I would never not stretch every single day! . . Some of the great benefits of stretching are: ✨increases flexibility- this has definitely happened for me! Week 3 - 6 week challenge Saturday's = Cardio/boxing 🥊🏃‍♀️ . . A nice sweat sess this morning, humidity was super high and gross and so much sweat 💦 . . Feeling a little bleh the last cpl of days, not sure what's happening but craving heaps of carbs and finding it hard to curb those cravings... any tips? 👇 let me know below👇 . . Had a bowl of fruit 🍓🍉🍌 with the kids, then cooked some brunch, used a soy and linseed low gi bread (one slice for me) and added some roasted sweet potato 🍠 to try help with the carb cravings, roasted capsicum and tomato 🍅 plus some Moroccan spiced mushrooms 🍄 (soooooo good) poached eggs 🥚🥚 avocado 🥑 (trying to get the good fats in) and 2 small shortcut bacon slices 🥓 . . I did it! The hardest challenge for me but I completed 12 weeks with @anita_herbert and I am so happy! This was never about 12 weeks for me, it was more about getting guidance to gain understanding of how my body works! This now becomes my 'before' as I continue on my journey which probably started last year. I'm not taking a break, I am staying on track and working hard until Christmas, which I will enjoy Haha. I had a body composition test and the trainer/nutritionist put me at 17% which I think is pretty amazing and I'm super proud! From here she said not to worry about this number and focus on lean muscle mass which is what I will do! What have I learnt?: ◾It takes a lot more work than I thought to change your body, it needs dedication and massive commitment. ◾That where I want to be is realistically going to take more than 12 weeks Haha, maybe even a few years but I know if I stick to it I will see the change I want. ◾That people from all different journeys on here(instagram) are an amazing support crew and best inspiration ever! Knowing what to do and actually implementing what to do are two totally different attitudes towards transformation. Edwina completed her first face to face MP Transformation Challenge with me back in 2016 where she learnt the basic fundamentals of the Metabolic Precision program. From what she learnt then I’m sure Edwina would agree that it was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to changing life long habits, beliefs and attitudes around what we think we know about exercise and nutrition. Edwina has since been training at Basil Bodies completing 2 X F.I.R.E and 1-2 x I.C.E sessions per week for the past 2 years so understands the importance of resistance training to build a healthy metabolism. It wasn’t until October of this year when Edwina signed up for the Online Body Transformation Coaching program that her body started to change significantly. Success leaves clues !!!! ⚠️⚠️ Here are the things we DID’NT do over the past 10 weeks- ✖️ there were no meal plans provided as meal plans do not help you to create new routines and habits around having the right environment in the home or at work for success ✖️we didn’t add in more training sessions to “speed” up results. This would just lead to overtraining and burnout. ✖️we didn’t count a single calorie or work out any magic macro nutrient equation to obide to. ✔️What we DID do- ✅ we looked at Edwina’s starting point and what she was currently doing. ✅we looked at what areas needed improving ✅we identified that Edwina wasn’t eating enough or often enough throughout the day ✅ so all we have done so far is increase the amount of metabolically precise meals she is eating each day. That’s it !! One thing, one habit is all we have addressed. Edwina has taken this onboard and not stressed about meal plans or doing more exercise. She has focused on her worst habit and focused on just one thing, not a zillion things at once. Every year, as Christmas comes, I'm reminded again of all that is truly important. I get so energized to look back and take note of what has changed.. How I have grown. The miracles I've seen or been a part of. What I no longer desire that I once thought was important. I’ve had a battle with my body and my eating habits my entire life. My relationship with food is one that I struggle with, one that I want to improve, but just haven’t really found something that works perfectly with my life . Pregnancy is one of the few times in my life that I feel 100% comfort in my body. It’s the one time I feel that I don’t have society judging me about being fat, a big girl or plus size . I love my body now. This year is the first time in YEARS I could actually say that. This year has been the first time since 2012 that I have actually started to respect my body and started fuelling it more with the right foods. I used to eat 20% good and 80% bad but I feel it’s more like a 70% good and 30% bad . My body has had some health issues due to what I eat, but once baby is out I am fully ready to do the right thing, fix my body naturally and be the best version of myself physically that I have ever been in my life . I am not doing the whole “take it easy your pregnant or you’ve just had a baby” because post baby is the time I need to practise self disciple in order to practise self love for my body and heal my hormones . So anyway: the point of this post? Change is coming slowly, because slowly is best for me. I love my body and that’s taken a lifetime to say. I’m also proud of my shape, my bump and myself 🖤
My kids and grandkids are obsessed with fruit. This morning my boys and grandson had a Superfood Smoothie loaded with enzymes probiotics 73 trace minerals and vitamins all lactose soy and gluten free.
