Happy New Year!! I would just like to wish all my Instagram friends a very happy & healthy 2018!! . I thought Iโ€™d put it out there and share with you my main goal this year which is to continue to help and inspire people to make positive lifestyle changes. This is particularly poignant following todayโ€™s news coverage regarding how as a nation we are getting sicker and sicker. It may only have taken me 30 odd years to determine what on a professional level makes me feel fulfilled and itโ€™s all due to #thebeplan and @chloemyers_ig which I cant thank enough. Iโ€™m so fortunate to be โ€˜doing what makes me happy.โ€™. On a personal level Iโ€™m excited to get back into fitness after the birth of my little girl last March and I canโ€™t wait to start some Park Runs and Ariel Hoop classes! Slay all day.. well not exactly. I've got to admit- with the holidays and this pregnancy I'm struggling to keep it all together when it comes to sticking to my nutrition plan. I'm talking chicken nuggets, pizza, cookie cake- you name it-- I've been eating it. My 80/20 rule has been more like 60/40. My goal with this pregnancy was to be the healthiest I can for both me and the baby but what I've noticed is that my actions are now not only taking a toll on me but my son as well. My cravings for McDonalds involve bringing my son with me as well. That cookie cake that I couldn't NOT have yesterday that ended up in my grocery cart had 2 pieces- one which I devoured and one which my son asked for. My little angel that was asking for hummus and veggies over cookies and cake is now like a little ravenous sugar monster. The active mom that was taking my son to the park now needs to lay out on the couch after lunch while my son is sitting playing on his iPad or watching TV rather than running around outside. Who is to blame? Certainly not him! I take full responsibility. We are all human. Just because I am a health coach does not mean that I am miss perfect and don't have bad days or bad weeks. BUT this job I have and these accountability groups that I run do something very special... they keep me from falling off track for good. They give me motivation to be the best version of me- they give me all the tools I need for success. So today I put an end to this and start back on my day 1 along with 6 of my new clients that will be starting their healthy lifestyle next week. The New Year may be a few days away but I'm not waiting for that- it starts today.
