HOW TO GET A SIX-PACK by @jmaxfitness - We all want abs, but it seems like most people don't know how to get them. - I remember when I was younger, all I wanted as a good six pack. I spent hours doing sit-ups and long distance running, but it didn't work. This is because sit-ups don't really target the abs. They hit the hip flexors instead. - These days, people seem to be doing crazy things like juice cleanses. Luckily, this wasn't around when I first started training, or else I would have fallen for it. - Getting a six-pack is pretty simple, actually. All you have to do is 3 things: eat in a caloric deficit (so you're losing weight), eat high protein (to maintain your muscle), and strength train (to build your abdominals). You can lift weights or strength train with your bodyweight. Both work when it comes to getting abs, which means ANYONE can get a six-pack. - But I need your help. Great workout here before going to watch the World Cup. First one since 4 or 5 days back. Always helps reset my body. I feel like I maintained decently on AMMA Tour and maybe even progressed a little. In any case, this 50 yr old vegan body feels good and strong! 👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊🌱🌱 When traveling, I stick to a full body HIIT type routine. I superset heavy upper body exercises and do sets of abs or legs in between. I only rest enough to not faint and catch my breath. This allows me to hit every part of the body while keeping the whole workout cardiovascular. I end with a nice stretch āsana session and roll out on the therapy ball and lacrosse ball, hitting some nice trigger points and releasing the fascia and tight stuck muscles. It is a routine that works for me and surely could work for you as well. One of the many routines I teach thru WOHLISITIC INDIVIDUALIZED NUTRITION & EXERCISE/WOHLISTIC PERSONAL TRAINING. I am at the exclusive Les Pyramides Sports & Loisirs Club, ready to get a serious workout in and then watch the World Cup finals in comfort and without a bunch of cigarette smoke in my face, which is pretty much everywhere you go in Europe, especially France. None of the bars or restaurants have air conditioning and it is in the mid to high 80s with full humidity right now. So, though it won't be as loud and rowdy, this is perfect for us to watch the game. Definitely not the day to go into Paris. That is on the list for tomorrow. Regardless of where you go, if you are traveling, you will always feel so much better if you can get a workout in. Something is always better than nothing, so even if you only have 20-30 mins, just do it. If you train intensely, you can make the best use of whatever little time you have. FAT LOSS CHECKLIST by @kruckifitness - Losing fat can be a difficult process it you let it be. When we drop our calories, things become a little harder. We get hungrier, we have less energy, and we aren't always in the best mood. But if you do it right, the process doesn't have to be so bad. - First off, you don't need to put yourself in a big caloric deficit. This'll only make things harder and less sustainable. Make sure you get enough protein in as well as water. Drinking lots of water will be very beneficial. Also, lift heavy. Don't feel like you only need to do high reps in a fat loss phase. Lifting heavy will help maintain muscle mass. Let me just start off by saying HOLY JESUS, I underestimated how tired and sweaty I would be after this HIIT workout! 😅 So you’re usually supposed to do each workout for a minute each, rest 30 in between, then move on to the next one. But for beginners (myself included) definitely recommend 30 seconds first. Rest then next workout. Do the whole circuit of workouts then rest and do it again for a total of 3 times. Here I’m doing jumping jacks, high knees, butt kicks, burpees, mountain climbers, jump squats, and finish off with wall sits. You’ll for sure be sweating and be butt tired at the end. CRASH DIETING VS SMART DIETING by @stephencampolo - - Crash dieting tends to make dieters tired, irritable and lethargic and brings on food cravings. There's a rapid weight loss, making it look like the plan is working. At this point, you haven't actually lost any fat; all that's happened is that you've used up the body's limited store of glycogen, a form of carbohydrate. As you use up the glycogen, your body loses water with it, so you appear to be losing weight very quickly. - Primarily, crash diets slow down your body’s metabolic rate. Your body wants to maximize each calorie it receives because it is afraid of starvation so continued weight loss after the crash diet is extremely difficult. - Further, weight gain is another issue due to a change in metabolic rate that your body goes through while you are crash dieting. Thereafter, due to the body’s adjusted metabolism, it becomes increasingly difficult for you to loose weight. - Follow a diet then you can sustain long-term. CG Games: complete! After I competed, I volunteered to help til the end. I was called “the awesome water girl” by some ladies cheering on the interval event, because I kept looping around with cold water for everybody out there. I don’t honestly know how many loops of that football field I did dragging that cooler 😂 Just glad to deliver a little relief to everybody pushin’ it in this merciless Texas summer sun. All you guys did an AWESOME job — campers, trainers and volunteers alike! Such a wonderful event full of folks pushing to better themselves, and in many cases getting outside their comfort zones. High intensity interval training is the best way to burn the most calories in the shortest amount of time. 💪🏋️💪🏋️💪 Today's HIIT cardio workout: - Uphill run (incline of 15, 6mph) 30 seconds on, 30 second rest 10 rounds - Rower Row hard for 200 meters Row light for 100 meters 5 rounds 💪🏋️💪🏋️💪 You want to be working as hard as you can for the time or distance that you're going for. If at the end of 30 seconds you feel like you could easily run longer, increase your pace. And if 200 meters feels easy, row faster.

I spent hours doing sit-ups and long distance running, but it didn't work. This is because sit-ups don't really target the abs. They hit the hip flexors instead. - These days, people seem to be doing crazy things like juice cleanses. Luckily, this wasn't around when I first started training, or else I would have fallen for it. - Getting a six-pack is pretty simple, actually. All you have to do is 3 things: eat in a caloric deficit (so you're losing weight), eat high protein (to maintain your muscle), and strength train (to build your abdominals). You can lift weights or strength train with your bodyweight. Both work when it comes to getting abs, which means ANYONE can get a six-pack. - But I need your help.
