Oh, Seattle. Thanks for letting me sneak away for a weekend after one of the longest and most daunting years yet. Oyster Dome was a blast and seeing the mountain out the entire time I was around was a great way to be greeted as I escaped the heartache of the smoke and fires in California.
No matter how hard things get, keep pushing. The little glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel can be reached, I promise. 2018 has been treacherous and tough, but it handed over its rewards.
I wouldn't call it "my year", but it's a pretty good ending to a bad chapter, and I'll take it. I know it's only November. 😛

As always, thanks to my #adventurebro @brianhague
for having me. Sorry to everyone I didn't tell. I was staying low-key this time. I'll be back soon. 😉
Climbed up and ran down Mailbox Peak after work. But had to do it twice — once for the mailbox and once for the... fire hydrant? Running a double (8000’ ft of gain up, 8000’ ft down) is much more difficult when doing the entire thing in the dark!
Gotta preach to myself for a minute... There’s no better activity to illustrate that “life is about the journey” than hiking.
Honestly, I never thought I’d like it. I didn’t see how it could be considered fun. In general, I’m someone who is always planning the next move, eager to reach the finish line quickly and start progress towards something new and exciting. But once you’ve made patient progress and climbed to the gratifying peak of a trail, there’s nothing left to plan, no more mountain to climb. There’s no next move. You’ve toiled physically and mentally and there’s no other option but to rest, reflect and take in your surroundings. In our lives, we tend to trade contentment for constant pursuit of something more. And we rarely get to that pinnacle we’re chasing, where we’d inevitably grow wiser by realizing that the journey was the best part. But every time I hike, I’m reminded to enjoy each moment on the journey, both on the trail and in life. I often pray for patience in my life and for the wisdom to be grateful for where God has me at that very moment. Since hiking is teaching me all kinds of lessons, I can’t help but believe God placed us in the hiking capital of the country to answer some of these prayers, just like He promised he would.
less office, more outdoors 🙈
To get such a clear and sunny day in mid November is nothing less than miraculous. Thanking my lucky stars for such a gorgeous day with such a wonderful person ✨💕 #aventurineforest #trailtuesday
I’m missing my fur babies so much! Any other dog moms/dads out there??

Something one much do to achieve dreams and goals. Leaving my pups at home was a huge sacrifice for me in order to travel for the last couple months. And quite easily the hardest part of being overseas.
It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
This is from on the way up to the Tolmie Peak Fire Lookout. Difficult, but easily my favorite hike ever. The most memorizing view at the top that you'll ever see. Will absolutely go again next year :) #lakemowich #hikewashington #pnwwonderland

Monday came on a little strong today so I'm going to post a photo of this cute bird (that I didn't feed in case you were wondering)
Monday morning ahhhhh .... we had a wonderful weekend hiking Mount Sk yesterday. Oh what a challenging hike that is! We are feeling extra sore today, which I am always thankful for. Have you hiked Mount Si? 🏔 8 miles and 3,100 elevation gain 🙈😳❄️🏔 I’ll be feeling it the rest of today ☺️ Hope you have a great Monday, friends! 🌲🍁 #mountsi #hikewashington #hikepnw #northbend #soremuscles #owwww #naturephotography
it’s a tight fit ⌇⌓ ◠ ◦
Seeing a lot of posts about being wild and free lately. Social media makes it seems like everyone is doing something cool all the time and traveling the world etc. etc. and it’s easy to compare. BUT I think it's super critical to remember it's a highlights reel.
Not all my pics (in fact, most) aren't real time. In my day-to-day life, I'm a huge homebody who prefers hanging out with friends 1:1 or in small groups.
I love being home and I’m an introvert. I often get tired and need to recharge after social events and that’s totally ok. You do you. ❤️
Let out a little gasp when I got to the top of Mount Pilchuck —the view is amazing. A 360 panoramic view from The Lookout to see so many peaks 🏔⛰ (it used to be a fire lookout). I am loving this mid-October sunshine ☀️ who says the rain starts on October 15th?!
5.5 miles round trip
About a 90 min drive from Seattle
A very rough forest road the last 20 min
it's a dream and I don't want to wake up. ✨ 12.5 miles, 5 hours, and 28k steps ✨
Blanca Lake is my favourite hike in Washington because of this gorgeous blue water. Plus, it's super challenging.
With the road washout, it adds another 2 miles just to get to the trailhead (+4 miles total). I made decent time, but honestly I got my ass kicked.
Don’t let Instagram fool you—it was not glamorous. There were SO many aggressive and annoying biting flies for more than 70% of the hike and I did a lot of squealing and maybe even teared up, but I made it! 🙌🏽
Anyway, will try to hike it once more before the end of hiking season this year. Must. bring. floaties 🦄 🍩
