Most of my pictures are totally unedited. Whether a nature photo is edited or not, it is a window expressing our feelings of wonder captured in the play of the lights and shadows around us.
Another fun-filled day spent in JT with some amazing women! We picked up some new shades before exploring #JTNP
! We hiked to Barker Dam from the Hidden Valley Campground where we spotted a bunch of brave rock climbers. We decided to do some rock climbing (actually, bouldering) ourselves! See second to last photo - the arrow shows how high we made it up! Major adrenaline rush! 😱 We ended the evening going to Arch Rock to stargaze - thankful we didn’t get lost in the desert 🤣 #feelingbadass #hikergirls #joshuatree #joshuatreenationalpark #nps #findyourpark #mojavedesert #girlstrip
Passeggiando, ogni pensiero trova il proprio spazio e tutto si mette al giusto posto.
I stand firm in my beliefs, in who I am and what I am capable of. There are times I feel shaky and unsure; learning to embrace my humanness at each corner. I know it will always come down to my perspective. Our beliefs and thoughts are powerful. What story are you telling yourself? Is it one of empowerment? Do you know you have the power to change your thoughts//your story? I know it can be hard, but do we really want things handed to us? I don’t. I want to work for what I want. And I’m willing to put in the time, energy, and effort. If you’re reading this and you’ll feeling defeated or discouraged. Get back in the game. You’re needed. You’ve got this. I believe in you.
quiet [kwahy-it] :
making no noise or sound.

La montagna vestita d'inverno è qualcosa di spettacolare.
Domina su tutti con il suo silenzio regale.
Gela i corpi, ma scalda il cuore.

absence of any sound or noise.
Throwback to summer morning on the lake.
Warm sunny days bouldering in the American Southwest.
My first thought when I saw this picture was to judge my legs. I have ZERO hamstring strength on my right side. You can clearly tell in this picture my right leg is so small compared to my left. For my first ACL surgery I used an allograft (cadaver tissue) to replace my ACL. That was in September 2009. In January 2012 I tore the allograft completely. In March 2012 I had my second ACL (and meniscus) surgery and used part of my hamstring as the graft. In high school I tore two of my hamstrings (we have 3) and so my right leg is extremely compromised. I remind myself though; if not for my injuries I would not be the person I am today. I would not have turned to yoga for physical therapy//healing. Who knows if I would even be practicing let alone teaching. So I’m going to shift it! Instead of looking at my legs and judging my shortcomings; I choose to see a woman who is determined and strong. A woman who fights (in a passionate not harsh) for what she believes in. I see a woman whose body gave birth to 3 beautiful daughters. I see a woman who endured, recovered and rehabilitated two major surgeries. After my 2nd surgery I was in bed for 9 days. Needless to say I was very depressed. But I chose to rise and I choose everyday not to let my injuries dictate my activity. I turned in my soccer cleats knowing it was not wise to continue playing soccer (both tears were on the soccer field). Here I am today stronger in mind and body than I’ve ever been. Far from perfect, but I’m not striving for perfection. I’m thriving with my flaws and hopefully inspiring others to GET AFTER IT! 💋💋💋💋💋can anyone spot Carl?🤣🐶

When I’m out in nature I feel ALIVE. I feel FREE. I feel COMPLETE. Connecting with the earth and myself to recharge so I can give as much as possible to people, my family, my passions, my responsibilities. 🐒
It’s raining today. I’m grateful for the rain. We need it in California. Dark, gloomy days are a reminder that the sun will come. It’s just around the corner. If you feel you are in a dark place. Reach out. You are not alone. You are loved. You are cared about. Choose to connect with someone today. Smile at a stranger. Show kindness even when someone is not kind to you.

We are already one week into 2019, how’s everyone’s resolutions going? I am trying to get into meditating this year and have had mixed results! It definitely is hard to keep my mind from wandering 🌀Let me know if you have any tips if you have tried meditation or what resolutions you are working on this year!
Throughout life you will get knocked down over and over again. The trick is to rise up and grow from each experience.
Thanks for pointing them out M! 🤨
Yasss! That feeling you get as soon as you find a wide open trail after bushwhacking and literally crawling through a tangled web of itchy, scratchy, pokey maze of overgrowth. 📷MW
One of my favorite places in the PNW.
