Life is complex and have many layers. What you see on the surface may not represent what lies underneath. Have an open mind and you may be surprised.
East Highland Way + Speyside Way, stage 3: Aviemore ➡️ Nethy Bridge (19,5 km)
We woke up in Aviemore, feeling rested, but with sore feet from the days before. We had a quick look around the shops in the town centre before we took off, and found plasters and a few other necessities.
The first photo shows what our surroundings were like most of this stage. It was pretty bare and dry, and SO hot!! Didn’t look or feel like Scotland at all, but that just made it interesting. In the beginning we followed the Old Strathspey Railway had quite a few breaks along the way, to make sure we had enough to drink, and once to have a look at a passing steam train 🚂 earlier that day we had a chat and decided that due to the heat and sore feet we would spend the night in Boat of Garten, getting a proper rest, but when we got there we couldn’t find a place to camp, so we had to walk on to Nethy Bridge. It was a hard day (we didn’t even take that many photos 😮) but we really got our reward when we reached The Lazy Duck, had a wild shower and a nice dinner, and got to spend a relaxing afternoon, reading and writing 🙏🏼

They say happiness comes from within. That's true, but it can also be found outside. I'm absolutely in awe of the natural beauty I experienced today, and I can't think of any place else I would've rather been.
2nd hike in Boise in the books.
📍 Silver Falls State Park, Oregon
This past September I spent a weekend of wellness in Willamette Valley with some amazing women. We hiked, we camped, we ate, and we experienced our first hot air balloon ride together!
For all the details on what we did, check out AllThingsKate.com! Plus, make sure to check out @emmasedition

My zen place. As women in today’s society, we are expected to juggle so many things...and look good doing it! The self imposed pressure is overwhelming sometimes. Find a place where you can just be.
Another Monday in the books! Who has weekend adventure plans already? 🏔👌🏽 📸: @vagabondhearts
Today I went for a hike in my new home. It was beautiful and really cool to get to see my new surroundings from a better vantage point. The trail was desert, but looking down on Boise it's clear to see why it's called the City of Trees.
Yesterday we were at it again: on a hunt for pine nuts! One of Ryans favorite trees is a Pinyon Pine so the past few months I’ve been searching for new ways to incorporate the tree into our meal.
I know what you’re thinking- how the hell do you incorporate a tree into your meal? Well, to begin with we tried to harvest pine nuts. After finding too many dried nuts I opted for something a little less orthodox. I decided to cook with the pine branches to get an earthy flavor. Paired with roasted garlic, the mushrooms simmered on the cast iron until it turned golden brown. It was one of the best meals I’ve made outdoors. My next project is going to be infusing this pine in olive oil. I love experimenting and incorporating new ingredients into my dishes.
What’s the most unique item you’ve used while cooking? #pinyonpine #backcountrycooking #veganfoodshare #healthyeah #latinxvegan #sevegano
There's nothing like sitting next to your dad and grandfather during a church service (that they don't typically attend) honoring veterans such as themselves, to truly appreciate the freedom of these moments 💞 THANK YOU to all of the BRAVE and COURAGEOUS men and women who serve, who have served and to the brave and courageous families who support them. 💓 #thankyouveterans
Went out to play in Pisgah National Forest today. 8mi rough hike but this reward was so worth it. And finding our way back thru the dark forest with the flashlights on our iPhones = a whole new level of fear conquered. 💪🏽 #getoutdoors #asheville #girlswhohike #fallcolors
Take a chance. Might not be what you thought, but if you don’t try, you won’t know.
the time I climbed Mt. Whitney! 🥾🏔 This was definitely a grueling hike. With a 6100 ft elevation gain, the peak stands at a wondrous 14,505 feet! It’s the highest point in the lower 48 contiguous United States 🇺🇸.
Altitude training helps reduce mountain sickness, which starts anywhere over 8000 feet. Signs include dizziness, headache, muscle aches, and nausea. The best treatment for progressive symptoms is to descend and to pace yourself while ascending! Feel free to ask me more questions about this goal!

Take a note from Mother Nature, strength and power can come after falling.
Happy place with some incredible company ❤️ #Colorado
Saturday afternoons are for dreaming! -------- I dream of living on the water and being able to hop in my kayak and just paddle away to my hearts content. I dream of living near the ski hills. Any day of the week I can strap on the skis and race down the hill. I dream of getting on a plane and traveling to all parts of the globe. Those are the dreams. ------ Making them a reality is important. I started working a side hustle to make sure I have the means to live those dreams. It's part time kn my schedule, it keeps me accountable to my own fitness goals and gives me the chance to hang with some pretty cool people. ------- What are your dreams and what are you doing to make them your reality?
What’s your favourite season to adventure in? Ours has to be days like this! Warm temps with some snow to add to the adventure. 👌🏽♥️ 📸: @missholldoll
thanks for the picture 🤙🏽
Grandmas house... no matter where I go I always know there’s food ready for me when I visit grandma. She’s now used to my passing on cookies & cake and offers me the fruit first lol love her to the moon and back 💜
“It's as simple as something that nobody knows
That her eyes are as big as her bubbly toes
On the feet of a queen of the hearts of the cards
And her feet are all covered with tar balls and scars...”
True hiking in Hawaii. It’s not always about rainbows, waterfalls, and views for miles. It’s mud, high heat index, mosquitoes, overgrown uluhe, and indiscernible trails. And we keep going back for more!
Getting yourself out of a bad situation isn’t giving up, it’s being rational.
When the mountains are part of your home and these views your every day life
Soothing to watch the waves crashing on the rocky shores
