Guest dock, the gateway to our grounds, the favorite spot for groups of boating buddies, and the access point to our A-dock and C-dock. Oh, the stories it could tell; some are meant to remain a secret but others are yacht club legends. You are always welcomed here. This space is no stranger to boatlife and has seen many colorful test kayaks from @shiptoshoremarine
, stashed loads of zincs, and held up countless camp chairs. So sail on over, your berth awaits.
You should note the namesake for this marina is nestled right there upon the Guest dock walkway, just under the blue canvas. The Arabella. #arabellaslanding #gigharborwaterfront #gigharbor

Another one bites the dust.
A Greek Revival in Illinois.
House hunting for my own home is so much harder compared to investment properties. I find myself getting emotionally attached to these houses and I want to save ‘em all. 😂 *
I’ve been secretly coveting this one for weeks. It has so many great features like the original windows, two staircases, pocket doors and not one, but TWO shuttered front doors. My heart is melting. 😍 The rehab costs are high and so is the list price, so we’re going to let the seller sit on it a while. And now that I’m walking away I will leave this pile of pics for someone else to enjoy. *
*Note as you scroll through to the last photo, that vine is one of several growing INSIDE the house. 😳

Today marks 59 years since Hawai’i became a state on August 21, 1959. If you’ve ever visited Phillips House in Salem, Mass., you may have noticed that the Hawai’ian flag is often flown outside. Why? Stephen Willard Phillips, husband of Anna Phillips (who purchased the home in 1911) was born in Hawai’i in 1873. His father, Stephen Henry Phillips, was the first attorney general to the Kingdom of Hawai’i. Phillips’ birthplace informed his lifelong passion for the study of oceanic objects and peoples, evidenced by his large collection of books and artifacts related to Hawai’ian culture. Swipe to view Stephen Henry Phillips’ Oath of Office from the mid-19th century.🌊
Learn more about this fascinating family and the stunning mansion they called home – stop by Phillips House for a guided tour! The mansion is open Tuesday through Sunday between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Tours depart every half hour.
Then and now.
The Percy R. Pine mansion at 680 Park Avenue was built in 1911 through the architectural firm McKim, Mead & White. From 1948 through 1963, the home was the Soviet Mission to the United Nations.
In 1965 Marquesa de Cuevas purchased the building to save it from demolition and subsequently donated it to the Americas Society.

“It’s been 84 years...” but the roof trusses are being delivered Friday! 🙌🏼 Can’t wait to get a roof on here so we can start the link, getting seriously twitchy about the prospect of starting the next stage so late in the year... 😬 Please god stay dry for another couple of months!

I'm doing Elfreth's Alley this week because YOLO.
Celebrated as America's oldest residential street, Elfreth's Alley was not in Thomas Holmes' original plan for the city. The colony's success, evidenced by crowded housing and teeming streets, created an opening for land speculators. Arthur Wells and John Gilbert, owners of the land between Second and Front Second Streets, were two such men and merged their properties. A cartway leading to the river bisected the new development, creating fronts for new housing units on both sides. The cartway opened in 1706, but only became known as Elfreth's Alley in the mid-18th century.
The Alley's oldest house dates to the 1720s. Roughly half the structures predate the Revolution with the remainder constructed during the Federal era. The Elfreth's Alley Association cares for block today.
If you travel to Philly and don't visit Elfreth's, do not tell me.
