Last of the #holidayspam
and I thought that we would struggle slightly on a #vegandiet
in Bulgaria as I had read that a lot of the local cuisine is pretty heavy on the meat.
Luckily our hotel has a pretty decent range of fresh fruit and vegetables with some tasty warm dishes that we were able to eat including vegetables stuffed with rice and stewed aubergine.
All we really had to do was buy our own milk and yoghurt with the occasional dark chocolate bar thrown in and it was incredibly easy.
We drank delicious coconut milk based cocktails, still managed to have a dirty takeaway, had aaaaall the Bulgarian delight and I definitely, drunkenly managed to gorge myself silly on an entire packet of hobbits biscuits in 10 minutes flat (they are basically the same as a hobknob).
We did decide to treat ourselves to a meal out on the last night and found the incredible @vege.joy.16
Dishes included the staple hummus, a citrus salad, quinoa and mung croquettes, a nut and soy cream risotto and three desserts including a cheesecake, raw cake and the best tiramisu I've ever had, vegan or otherwise.
I'm now in a slight food coma stupor and in absolute hipster heaven and not feeling deprived in the slightest (though if I'm being honest, slightly smug at the lack of holiday bloat and no dead carcasses on my plate).
