If there’s something you get the chance to read today, may it be this— ❣️
It’s so easy to go to your social media and see everyone’s posts and images.
We see loved ones and think- Oh it looks like this person is doing great, they are doing this and that- oh look at this picture of them *smiling, with a friend maybe even. They are doing so good!!... right? ~
Based on looks, picture perfect, and smiles. That small “button of validation” should suffice for my need to reach out... right? They’re just doing so good, why interrupt! ~
— That is an assumption. And maybe at times, quite a big one. ~
Social media is easily— the biggest highlight reel. Where everyone seems to put up their carefully selected moments. — All these images are just a split second in time, it’s easy to throw on a smile and constructed poise for that. Pictures aren’t accurate representations- of the whole of one person’s life, and the things they are going through. ~
There’s something a little uneasy about social media & its correlation to how it affects us, our perceptions, and the quality of our relationships. With it being as dominant as it is in our lives now— I simply wonder about its prolonged effects. ~
In general, a lot of people don’t want attention put on personal struggles, worries, tears— they don’t want it to leak out onto others! Which is why you don’t see it. Maybe they don’t even know how or what they are dealing with inside themselves, let alone how to tell close ones that they are struggling— yet they are doing their best to lift themselves up and out of it, every chance they get before anyone sees. ~
It should be more okay to be able to say “I’m not doing well,” without worry of coming off negative. It’s not negative..
There is a vital spark of human nurturing that comes with authentic presence and connection. ~
This is a part of contribution to our mental health. Look at it from this perspective every once in a while. ~
Remember to reach out and connect with people & loved ones, every so often. Your feelings are so very valid. You’re not a burden, You are not invisible, and you don’t deserve to be bypassed. Whoever told you otherwise, is wrong.
✨ self care ✨
I hear it all the time. “I do not have time for this!” That’s it. End of discussion. Leave me alone so I can get back to making sure my one year old isn’t climbing up the slide and respond to my three year old’s 24/7 life commentary. (Okay... maybe that’s my life! 🤭)
But, I tend to be a bit awkward and so I persist. “But I promise you, you do!”
So let’s break it down.
Self care doesn’t need to be what the majority of us think of when we hear those two little words — a day at the spa or a night in a hotel. It can be something as simple as going pee, sitting down to eat a piece of toast, making yourself a smoothie, having a shower when the kids are napping, or working out for 15min while Netflix is babysitting. Notice all of these tasks don’t mention being child free? 🤔
Self care, my friends, can be a lifestyle. Something you implement into every dang day. As soon as I started wrapping my head around the ways in which I could take care of my self while simultaneously being a mom, I started seeing the magic. 💫
Yes, sometimes my kids are yelling while fighting over what colour spatula they want, but by calmly responding with “Mommy will be right there, I just need to go to the bathroom!” I watched them slowly go from baffled little humans to understanding that mommy matters too. I even started to notice them mirroring the behaviour! Boom. 🤯
I believe that by taking care of ourselves, we can teach our children self love, respect for themselves and for others!
So, sit down mama. Sip your hot tea even if the kids are demanding ANOTHER snack. Explain to them that mommy can’t take care of them if she isn’t taking care of herself.
But like, if you can go to the spa. Do that too. .
Every Thursday while my daughter is at Girl Scouts my son and I have a tradition to pick a place for an appetizer and drink. Today he picked Red Robin. I always make it a point whenever I go out to eat to talk to the people that are serving us. You never know how much a simple thing like this can change someone’s life. Today our waitress opened up to me about her one year sobriety story. She told me her alcoholism caused her to loose her five children. I could tell she was extremely proud of herself for her sober stretch but also could sense the tremendous sadness she felt over loosing her kids. I reached out to her and told her she was not alone and that she should be proud of her accomplishment. I talked to her about my IG account and upcoming blog and she asked for my business card. This was the best I could do in the moment😂❤️ There is so much power in human connection. If you take the time to reach out to strangers you never know where it will lead. ❤️

Hasheam has brought #Camerados
to young people in a community that’s been through a lot. He told us : “People watch the news and think Grenfell Tower community is at war with each other but it’s lies. We’re closer now than before, people talk to strangers they wouldn’t have talked to, crime has plummeted, we’ve pulled together on these streets....we’re just at war with the local authority!!” Our mission now is to connect them to Camerados in a similarly challenged neighbourhood in Baltimore! #humanconnection #publiclivingroom #friendsandpurpose #grenfell #grenfelltower
Jamaica has been a highly spiritual experience, and I’m so grateful to all the people I’ve met who shared pieces of their wisdom! One of the most memorable was a Rastafarian taxi driver (who called me Princess 👑☺️). He filled our car ride with the spirit of Jah in a combination of English, Patois and the universal language of human emotion. #respect #rasta #rastafarian #humanity #humanconnection #loveismyreligion
Shameless ice cream selfie.. Not only is our cheeky tour driver an expert in navigating the treacherous Egyptian roads (believe me - traffic lights, road markings and signs just exist for decoration), he fed us delicious Egyptian snacks, kept us entertained and even called us his family at the end of our three days tour. We are pretty lucky to have him and a companion of friendly local guides to bring us around! .
Do you like to explore a new country by yourself or with a local guide?
How many of us can be honest about the time in our lives where we woke up, got dressed, and applied a mask before leaving the house? How many of us can be even more real and admit we felt the need to wear the mask at home?
Wearing a mask simply says that I don’t feel safe to be me. I don’t feel safe to share how I feel or what I think out of fear of judgement, shame or guilt. So instead I do what I think or have learned is more outwardly acceptable, and I appear like I have it all together and figured out. After all, doesn’t everyone else? .
You’d be surprised the amount of people who experience the same anxious and overwhelming thoughts as you on a daily basis. You’d be surprised how many people have worn the mask so long it’s even more uncomfortable to take it off. You’d be surprised how many people really just want to be seen and heard for who they really are. .
I’m not surprised if this is you because for many years this was me. One of the best things we can do is acknowledge the mask we wear, do the work to remove it, and seek to know the people under the masks around us. .
Everyone who looks fine, is not, and it’s completely ok to not be ok. Make sure you’re unmasked and do the next person a favor and ask.

~ Dance with Veils, Pablo Picasso, 1907 ~
To me, this painting perfectly describes our unity with the universe. By using geometrically contrasting shapes to blur the boundaries between body and background, Picasso explains how we are a part of something much greater. We are all connected, me, you, nature, human construct, the earth, the sky. Everything is conscious. Broaden your horizon, look beyond your physical body, it does not define you. Feel the beat of the World, live in unity not in isolation. That is where freedom can be found.

What’s your next move?!!
Why do we overwhelm ourselves about the big picture when there’s a whole journey to enjoy along the way?
The big picture is only a dream until action is taken towards the FIRST step. Don’t worry about the entire process, figure out what’s next!
If life feels mundane you can make a change; just put yourself out there. Your energy, even, if that’s all it is. We can personally make lifestyle changes that will accelerate growth. I’ve never regretted the chances I’ve taken that others may deem a “failure.” It’s always worth a shot.
Success is in our hands 💕
The man seen in this photo taken at St.James Cathedral in Jerusalem witnessed the brutal deaths of his parents and seven siblings by the Ottoman Turks, he faced illness, more death, and atrocities as he was forced through the Syrian Desert, he was transported to Iran as an orphan, brought to Jerusalem alone to learn and live, he survived, he loved, he hated, he feared and everyday he struggled to follow his light. The divine light.
As boy, as a man, as a priest in the Armenian Apostolic Church he believed in the power of the divine, in the power of love. This belief touched people and made their lives better.
Yesterday I received a phone call from a woman who knew this man. She attended the church in Hartford, CT he served. She shared a story of how loving and kind he and his family were when her dad passed. She was eleven and as an adult remembers the kind gestures and love given to her. When she learned that I am the granddaughter of Fr. Kosrof Assadourian she called to share her stories of my family.
Her phone call touched me in so many ways. I am proud to be the granddaughter of a survivor. I am grateful for the light in my grandfather that allowed him to see the good. His light has been passed to his descendants.
@futurefitnesspro @kylevahan @lasadourian @alyssa._sampson
I honor this divine gift.
I coach to spread this love and guide people to live authentic and fulfilled lives led by their light.

People change direction every day. Many people are confused about which way to go. Most follow popular culture and choose to fit in. Far fewer choose with their mind, with full clarity about the direction they’re taking. It’s much easier to fit in than to stand out. Fitting in allows you to float, with many decisions about your lifestyle already made in advance by society. It’s quite rare to see people who actually think about their lifestyle choices, and what is guiding them. Most people’s god is actually society itself, even though you may see them repeating certain words in their speech.
When you hear someone say, I love god but hate religion, they are actually saying, I love fairytales but truth gives me anxiety. Religion is not what separates people.. What separates people are very things the 10 commandments were written for. Pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, sloth. Long before religion, people were fighting over land, property, women, wealth, status, opinions, etc.. Sit through a few ancient history classes to know that yourself. Ever seen Hollywood depictions of ancient Rome? They’re true to life. Google, “Lude painting on walls of Pompeii.” I’ve seen these in person on two different trips.
Ever heard someone say, I love god but hate the 10 Commandments? Never. But you hear, I love jesus but hate rules - all the time. That’s because the modern jesus is a fairytale created by a politician for the Romans. Reality is Jesus came here to tell you, God is One and love your neighbor as you love yourself. Love God and love humanity. But that is not all… For those curious, but lacking the time to do your own investigation, here’s a guy who has spent his life researching the subject.

Human Connection is so important to me. It came out as top of my list of values in some recent work with my coach. I have a background in counselling and hospitality, which are both about connection with people.
For me, connecting with clients, meeting face to face (where possible), talking online via video call is a hugely important part of what I do.
A relationship between a VA and client is a two-way interaction, and a face to face connection is a very important part of seeing whether you can work together.
And if you are not sure if you need a VA, but would like to meet for a coffee and a chat to find out (or a video call if you are not local), I love doing that too... Photo by rawpixel on Unsplash

✨Be yourself & Be kind.✨
The world needs more people like you.😊✨✨✨
(🔊) You get to choose the perspective you have on your life, on your day, on this moment. Choose trust, choose lightness, choose gratitude. It just feels better. It's not always easy but if you can pause and send breath to those areas of frustration or doubt or stagnation, the shift begins. So, start right now. Invest your energy in thoughts that will nourish you. You are worth it and you have the choice. Let that good energy grow !! ✌❤
IT'S ALL IN THE WAVE I How do you wave? I've recently discovered that when i wave i look far to excited. #wavegoals

Always an adventure with the one and only @avneroferphoto.
A morning exploring the area around Sadek in the Mekong Delta. This area is covered in huge flower gardens and rice paddies hidden behind the houses. We traveled by scooter along paths winding along the river and canals and connected by countless narrow bridges swooping in arches.
(🔊) Love > Fear. It is far too easy to get sucked into thought patterns of judgement, comparison, second guessing, blah blah blah the list goes on 🙄 It sucks and it feels bad. It's just fear. ALL fear. Can you meet that next judgemental thought with love? Try it. It's harder. Its deeper. But it's there baby, because you are love. And just like anything, it's a practice and a muscle that needs to be trained. So start flexing and let that heart shine through ❤💪
