let’s talk about #racism
. I know it’s uncomfortable, but humour me, it’s not all bad. After trapesing around the country yet again, I find myself more hopeful than ever that the next generation is going to get it right, they’re going to make it better. Yes, there’s still a large degree of racism and it goes in ALL directions but it has improved. #Apartheid
only ended recently, 1994 wasn’t a long time ago. It will take time, #education
, and #forgiveness
to move forward. To the next generation I want to say: don’t let hatefulness consume you, don’t mistake the problems of your government for your own, learn from the past but don’t exist in it, embrace your differences, celebrate your similarities, don’t allow the media and government to pit you against your fellow human, and commit to not just your own race, but to the #humanrace
. We are all one people. The sooner to learn that the sooner we can end hate. Cheers to the fabulous humans of South Africa, keep pushing forward. Photos are of some inspiring faces I had the pleasure of bumping into. Those kids were so excited to have their photo taken!
