Unfortunately we lost many beautiful trees here in Wilmington due to #hurricaneflorence
but we can make some beautiful things with what’s leftover. Thanks to @whitebarnworkshop
for letting me pick through these piles ✨
A big thank you to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga for sending a fantastic group to serve our city. We are thankful for all their hard work in helping with the continual hurricane relief efforts. #serve #hurricaneflorence

A2Z NC COLLEGE TIP: Some Colleges Extending Fee Waivers through November 16th for Hurricane-Impacted Counties in North Carolina - In light of the significant impact of Hurricane Florence on many schools and families in eastern North Carolina, a number of colleges have extended their admission application fee waivers until November 16th (5:00 pm) for students in 31 FEMA-designated counties. https://nccountdowntocollege.org/hurricane/ #hurricaneflorence
North Carolina farms are still trying to recover from Hurricane Florence and Micheal destruction. Farm losses are estimated at over 1.1 billion dollars. Gov. Roy Cooper said he told President Donald Trump during his visit to the state that making farmers whole will take more than just a "farm bill." These farmers should be supported in this time of crisis. Stand behind Governor Cooper by voting yes to more funding on this years Farm Bill #morefunding #hurricaneflorence
I haven’t updated on our house because honestly life has been a whirlwind. I feel like we just haven’t stopped at all!
I contacted my family (who are also going through the same thing with their home Thank y’all so so much Gina Hudson) very last minute asking if they knew of who to contact for help. They told us they had 3 guys who could come out on such short notice. These 3 men from Pennsylvania were such a blessing in all of this. They came in & helped take out all of our sheet rock, cabinets, etc. They worked from 7:30 to 2 & then had a 10 hour drive back home to be ready for church on Sunday. You guys, hearing this..it brings tears to my eyes. People that gave time away from their families to drive here to help us in SC is amazing & then they were going back to lead their church. Literally strangers to us came & worked SO hard. God sure blessed us with these amazing people. We feel so grateful for everyone who has helped us, prayed, donated, i mean just literally so much. This all feels like a blur but we couldn’t get through it without the help of all of you! We are so blessed 💕

This painting is of a really heartbreaking and evil scene, it’s of some of the 3.4 million animals that died in Hurricane Florence. Farm animals should not be viewed as disposable. Just because you’re a farmer who will be subsidized for these animals and given enough money from the government to repopulate your farms with more animals does not mean you should sit back and watch these animals drown and not try to save them at all. They’re not a commodity that should be disregarded and replaced.
This weekend was... Wow. No words.
Going back Nov. 2nd, if you have any donations, or want to join... Volunteers are needed. 🙏🏼

Our adoption ceremony was scheduled for September 25th, which was also Ford’s 3rd birthday. It seemed as if everything had fallen into place perfectly leading up to this long awaited day until hurricane Florence hit Wilmington on September 14th leaving a wake of destruction in her path. I found out via a Facebook search that the courthouse was flooded and this left us in limbo without any answer as to whether our ceremony would even take place. The week before, Friday the 21st, a quick google search informed they had named new locations to hold court the following week. I thought this was our answer, court would proceed as normal. I told my friend that was flying in to go ahead and come on Monday.
Our attorney, Gray, called me Monday morning and said when he called to confirm, he was told “no”. He begged them to reconsider, even told them we did not care if it happened in a parking lot since location was the issue. Upon further explanation of our situation they said they would try to find a location for our ceremony to be held in. We wound up in the sheriffs office / jail right next door to the courthouse. Because our story is so full of small details where I can see the Lord’s hand at work... this was another full circle moment because this is where my boy’s story started, the very place that put him on DSS’ radar. The very location we became and forever family is the place that provided a safe haven for him in his birth mother’s womb and right where OUR story began. I love how much the Lord delights in the details!
Astronaut Alexander Gerst captured this amazing shot of Florence from 400km up in the air. Hurricane Florence, Typhoon Jebi, Typhoon Mangkhut, and the Indonesian earthquake blew billions of dollars to pieces.
i love this:) 💗🌞

For those not following my IG story, I’ve been in North Carolina for the past month helping with hurricane Florence cleanup through @steeleservices.
Specializing in water damage. This house was a 90% gut. Mold had been growing all over the house. We have since treated it and now it’s drying out. Most houses we’ve encountered have been like this. From demo to completion, this process has taken almost 3 weeks. If you have ANY kind of water damage whether from a leaking appliance, a busted water heater or a hurricane, call Steele Services today. Highly rated with the BBB and a stupid amount of great reviews! #nashville #northcarolina

I guess conservative ideology doesn't extend to preserving the environment? 🤷
The Atlantic basin was relatively quiet for much of August 2018, but September brought a surge in storm activity. Category 4 #HurricaneFlorence
was the most ominous for people in the United States. Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center expect the slow-moving storm to reach the coast of the Carolinas late on September 13, bringing a life-threatening storm surge, exceptionally heavy inland rains, and damaging winds.
Early on September 12, astronaut Alex Gerst shot this photograph of Florence’s eye as viewed from the International Space Station. He tweeted: “Ever stared down the gaping eye of a category 4 hurricane? It's chilling, even from space.”
