Trekking in the Sahyardris during monsoons has it's own perks and challenges.
This is about that time when I and my friend decided to go camping and spent a night on a mountaintop during monsoons.
The winds were blowing strong and we would sense a storm it's on its way. Just before dusk, everybody else on that mountain left and we had the whole mountain all to ourselves.
Visibility then reduced further and as the night approached our clothes were drenched. It became too cold with the rains and strong winds.
As sleeping outside in my tent was no longer an option we found a temple on the mountain where we took shelter for the night.
The roof of the temple was made of tin, with cell bar windows. The storm carried on for the rest of the night with bolts of lightning adding in. Some parts of the tin roof were loose and it felt like it was going to take off any moment.
The experience was quite frightening and fun at the same time. We knew we were somewhat safe and if things got worse we decided to wrap up and descend to the village at the base.
