Seeing as I’ll be too busy geeking out watching @fantasticbeastsmovie
tonight I thought I’d better get in early and with a reminder that you can join me tomorrow morning at Yogavani for an hours Mandala Vinyasa Flow focusing on heart openers. Class begins at 10am and all levels are welcome.

(possibly giving some of the instructors a small shock by removing some of said thermals. lol) storming the Ned in matching yoga gear, the Sweaty Betty sports day which was pretty much one of the highlights of my year (still proud of our team's win 😂) and more.

is a string of those blissful moments. The arriving at the top, the power section flying high above the sky feeling on top of the world. The uplifting music. The moments of peace and tranquility. That feeling afterwards when you know you have done something magical for your heart and soul. Bliss. That is what it’s all about.

G R O W T H
Like a tree, to grow tall we also have to go deep. The inner work is fundamental in order for the outward projects to come to fruition.
The universe will keep sending you lessons and tests until you begin to learn, grow and adapt. I don’t think we always understand the lessons which come our way at the time. These hiccups which seem to set us back.
But if our reactions begin to change, if we see these things in a different light, then maybe, just maybe, we can move forward on our path stronger than we ever believed xo
I’m a busy woman right now, more so than ever. I’ve lots of plates spinning, multitasking and trying to boss it and ‘live my best life’... I give my all and hope I’m doing a great job as a wife, a mum, a friend, maintaining a questionable level of housework, studying for my L3 certification, training myself at the gym, writing programmes and training clients... some days I keep all the plates spinning whilst other days some may drop but that is life, we’re only human and if we do our best we should never feel anything but proud about that. One thing I know for sure is that I’m loving all the opportunities that have opened up to me since I started saying YES to new adventures, I love that I’m growing and adapting to be able to handle it all.
Today’s workout inspiration was from Alexia Clark 🎥This was the 3rd round of circuit 1 of 5 from today’s lower body training and I could barely walk down the stairs of the gym after I’d finished the whole 5 circuits, man don’t you just LOVE that feeling!
High fives and hugs go out from me to all you multitasking superwomen, working hard to achieve your own goals and giving them the importance they deserve on top of all the other demands on your time. Prioritising your own self care and personal development is so important, please never put yourself at the back of the que.

They say that if you’re the smartest person in the room, then you’re in the wrong room. On that basis, I’ve spent the last two days in exactly the right room. I came into this @merrithew
course thinking I had a pretty good baseline knowledge of fascia. Yet the stuff I’ve learned, shared and experienced so far on my Fascia journey has blown me away. Fascia plays a major, but still poorly understood role in movement, stability, athletic performance, injury, back pain and so much more. Why so little attention? Because it’s so all encompassing and interconnected that it doesn’t sit with our ambition to divide the body into discrete sub-segments and systems (muscular, skeletal, nervous system etc). I’m guilty as charged of looking at life as something to be organised and classified. What this weekend is teaching me - alongside all the gazillion learnings from our inspirational Master Instructor Trainer @pj_oclair
- is not everything is there to be divided. Not everything stops and starts. Somethings are just the whole deal.

| PLANK |
I’ve been focusing a fair bit on planks in my yoga classes this week. I think planks have had a little more emphasis placed upon them than they necessarily deserve -as a gymnast, the only time I ever did them was at the top of a press up! Dish holds and hollow rocks were MUCH harder. However, they’re definitely a key core pose that doesn’t involve lots of crunching movements, and also recruits the delts around your shoulders, gluteal muscles, and many, many more.
However, it is easy to do them incorrectly. To protect the wrists, warm them up first, and be sure to press your fingertips into the mat rather than just the balls of your hands.
I teach plank with slightly rounded shoulders -I.e., protracted. This helps to improve shoulder stability. 👍🏼
Then there’s the hips. Practice a plank side on to a mirror, and make sure than your bum isn’t in the air, or sagging to the ground. Think about lightly squeezing the glutes, tucking the tailbone under and then drawing the stomach in, so that you have a strong and safe plank.
Once you’ve nailed your plank, you’ve set yourself in a good place for chaturanga push ups, downward dogs and even arm balances. 💚 #enliveningelle

Join in our usual 45 minute conditioning but bolt on a progressive 15 min strength training cycle at the end. .
You’ll be under the watchful eye of @chase.the.fitness
- he’s a stickler for form & impeccable technique; perfect if you’re completely new to lifting or an excellent opportunity if you’re wanting to hone existing barbell skills.
