The 2018 wedding season is over. It was a great one. Editing never ends though …. Thank you @brassneck
for being the best bride/groom stand-in ❤️
Direto. Do. Túnel. Do. Tempo. 😉

Happy Monday! ✨ I'm heading into the week with a very full plate but an equally full heart. ❤️ Even though I'm Canadian and we already celebrated Thanksgiving in October, American Thanksgiving is still on my radar because I target the American market at work. One of the things I'm thankful for is just that: that my job is international, so I get to piggy back on foreign holidays 😂. For real though, I'm so totally blessed to work from Canada, with all the benefits of being a citizen and entrepreneur here, work for a company based in Europe with colleagues in Bulgaria, Italy, and Spain, and travel around the US representing my team. I look forward to all the cool stuff I get to do at work and all the cool places I get to do it.
Take me back to the beginning of term when it was warm and sunny and deadlines weren’t a thing.
Some places I am lucky travelling to, they allow the grand world to embrace me with open arms☘️
🗽🚦Some people still think I’m in New York because I’m posting pictures from there. I’m Just slowly sorting through pictures and posting them.
Most of you know that 'traveling the world' is my biggest passion. There is still so much on my bucket list I want to see and do and I’m continuously adding destinations to that list. During my travels I've learned so much about myself. Like I might be one of the most clumsy people you’ll ever meet and I cry more than a recently divorced housewife with menopauze. I also have a flair for the dramatic, I’ve been told.
Besides that, I also learned that nothing in life is for free except the air we breathe (for now) and things don’t always come easy. Because I'm always trying to motivate people to travel, some of you might assume I’m swimming in money. Unfortunately this isn’t the case (yet). But a comfort zone is not 'the place to be' for me and that’s why I’m always looking for new challenges. Making memories while making money is my ultimate goal in life and I want to inspire people to do the same. To be successful from any place on the planet and generate multiple strings of income if your conviction is big enough. Sometimes the biggest risk one can take, is not taking any risk at all.
If you share this vision, why don’t you shape it yourself?

As promised, I spent some time this weekend thinking about our best tips for traveling with toddlers. ✈️
See list below. I hope it helps. Remember first and foremost, you got this!! 🙌
✅Keep a positive attitude and set no expectations. Or better yet, keep the expectations very low! .
✅Avoid fancy restaurants and stick to kid friendly, as much as possible. We did have one night where we went to a fancy place. Try to be seated near a wall. This allowed me to make a little "play area" between the table and the wall for him to push his cars around.
✅Teach them how to use their suitcase. This was huge for us. We let him practice rolling his suitcase starting weeks before, and by the time we went on the trip he was a pro! He never needed, nor wanted, us to carry his suitcase.
✅Carry on instead of checking bags. This just avoids another "step" in the process. Every line in the airport is long, and if you can avoid one, do it!
✅Take advantage of boarding early. Many airlines offer early boarding with kids. We did this both times and it allowed us to board first, get settled, and even get him on the potty before other people boarded.
✅Don't assume there will be wifi. Airplane wifi can be iffy. What we did was download shows and movies from Netflix so that the actual files were on our iPad. Then, we were able to access them regardless of wifi.
✅Bring snacks. If you think you packed enough, pack more. We had an entire backpack of just snacks for both plane rides and for during each day of the trip.
✅Get special "plane toys." We bought a special toy to give him on each flight. He was so excited to receive a new toy that it kept him busy for a while each time.
✅Bring an umbrella stroller. Vacations tend to have a lot of walking and this saved us during those times where he was getting really tired and sluggish.
✅Be flexible with nap and bed times. We've always been pretty regimented with our schedule, and this was an area that worried me. I found that when we just "went with it" we noticed when he was getting really tired and then we went up for a nap. And he slept HARD!

NEXT PLACE DAY
A day exploring Reykjavik, loving the quirky shops & cafes. In life and when travelling, I love unplanned days that unfold organically. Wandering about and discovering what is around the next corner.
As a Psychologist, I observe a link between life stagnation, risk aversion, low levels of interconnectivity, boredom and life dissatisfaction. Life can seem repetitious and uninspiring when the "can't be bothereds" take over. Research has supported the notion that pleasant life experiences can boost mood and are a buffer against depression. Many clients say that it feels onerous to incorporate pleasant stimulating activities whilst in the grip of stress or a mental health crisis. Yet I notice that most people intuitively know what action would improve their quality of life, but don't make self caring choices.
I often set my clients homework to empower growth & change, let go of being in control or improve their mood. One fun option is to have a "next place day". The idea is to start at one known place ( e.g.. eat breakfast at Y cafe), then randomly chose the next few places (let's go left, or jump on this bus, or walk into this museum). Much like we often do when we travel. Spontaneous & curious choices, versus predictable routines or goal oriented actions.
My clients often report that it creates momentum for change, is enjoyable & creates positive mood states. Just like when we travel.
