When @bodyofworkboston tells you full range of motions #handstandpushups need to be done off the side of a box....for dramatic affect of course! ____ I remember reading years ago, exercises on the high rings, rope climbs and #olympiclifting will generally have a much higher motor unit recruitment due to the increased risk involved. I can say doing these on the side of the box definitely had the same affect!

WHAT I LEARNED SO FAR: apart from the obvious (possessing a good baseline of shoulder strength and learning to kick your legs up “just enough”), what’s been a GAME CHANGER in my practice is the way I LOAD UP THE SHOULDERS: . • place hands on the ground softly • keep shoulders relaxed • shift bodyweight forward, until the shoulders go past the hands • shoulders become the pivot —> move lower body up “hinging” at the shoulders . If you’re currently practicing by coming down from standing position, trying to connect your hands to the ground while kicking up your legs at the same time... IT’S NOT GONNA HAPPEN MATE . STELA LJUMSKAR? # Är du en av de som känner dig stel i ljumskarna? Att ha för stela ljumskar eller för svaga kan leda till många problem. T.ex kan de vara en av orsakerna till ryggont, höftproblem samt kan de vara en bromsande faktor i din utveckling när de kommer till snabbhet och explosivitet. # Många idrottsmän och kvinnor jag stöter på har oerhört mycket kraft och utveckling att få ut genom att jobba på rörligheten. Med en god rörlighet kan du ta ut ROM än mer vilket leder till att du kan få ut mer av den kraft du utvecklar och t.ex bli både snabbare och explosivare. Det är ofta de små detaljerna som tar en till nästa nivå! Här är en grym övning för att mjuka upp dina stela ljumskar. # UTFÖRANDE: 1️⃣ Lägg dig på rygg med rumpan intill väggen, kommer du inte hela vägen in så backar du lite. 2️⃣ Sätt upp båda fotsulorna på väggen och börja sen sära på benen så långt du kan. Glöm inte att vinkla fötterna utåt för en djupare stretch. 3️⃣ Stanna i denna positionen så länge du kan och gå lite djupare för varje 30/sekund. Ligg såhär sedan i 2 minuter. OBS. Tänk på att ta djupa andetag. ANDNINGEN.

We move to the one arm passive/active hang. It’s easy to want to go here too soon, prerequisites are a passive hang both arms @ 60 seconds and a minimum of 30 seconds in each 5.4.3.2.1 positions of opposite fingers/hand. The one arm minimum we use is at least 10 seconds each side, all done with control. No swinging or sloppiness aloud, don’t allow yourself to cheat. It’s the only way for long term sustainable practice.

Challenge every limit as it's presented to you. They told me give up sport. Arthritis in both knees and supposedly the only thing left is a knee replacement. Here's what he said 👇🏻 · 🍗If I were to list my top 5 favorite exercises squats wouldn’t make it close. Consuming copious amounts of buffalo wings would, but squats takes a back seat. - 🎃Having said that squats are a great exercise, they just tend to give people problems because they are complex. Many will tell me, “you’re going to ruin your knees squatting all of the time” or “Squats KILL my knees!” - 😎No one ever said you HAVE to squat to be strong. Below I have mapped you a few alternatives and things you can try. - 1️⃣Improve your ankle mobility. Everything with the squat is built from the ground up. If your feet and ankles are not moving properly everything up stream will suffer. Often, when ankles are tight the knees tend to take on a lot of force. This repeated motion over time can cause things to hurt for sure. - 2️⃣Try the sumo deadlift. It is not a squat, but it does require a decent amount of quad drive. They help the knees by limiting flexion. Plus they are going to strengthen your hamstrings which will help your knees too. - 3️⃣Try the box squat. I usually use the box squat with people who have trouble sitting their butt down. This reinforces that movement bringing more hips into it and relieving the knees. - 4️⃣Last, choose a different exercise. There are a lot of other ways to grow your legs without squatting. I am writing a book & creating the storyline. Getting the opportunity to stop, step back and finally look at what I’ve already written is scary. It hurts yet it’s beautiful in many ways. It provides freedom. There is many “stories”, believes, pain, hurt & misinterpretations hidden in my “house”. It’s even scarier to look at it and admit. To acknowledge. To open that “one room” in our house where you almost never go. The room where we hide all our shit from this [or previous - to make it more WoWo] life, from past, the things we didn’t know how to deal with before as we were too weak or didn’t had the right tools. I do believe that my practice [in all its forms as I did shit tun through my life] is crucial force accelerating the clean up of “this room” & eventually making it easier to live or leave the house clean whenever I want. We are born without manual. That’s what makes this “Game” so addictive and sometimes it’s so engaging that we actually forget what is it about. We live our lives learning how to operate in this body. We constantly react and we are forced to learn from whenever live throws at us. Or at least that’s what I aspire to. To learn how to see, observe. To learn. Life with all its colors [love, pain, cancer, joy, fear, death, emotions..] forces us to react. Its provides lessons and scenarios that we either accept and face or we push it asides and lock it into “the room” just to be able to “continue”. Some people never realize they have this “room” or might think that they aren’t strong enough to open it & face it. It took me 22y and I am just on the begging. My body reflects my past as much as my behavior. You can see it in my eyes, in the way I act, speak, stand & move. It’s a journey that I am trying to understand. This is my practice. It’s the only method I found to be working for my ass. I “opened the door” before yet I wasn’t strong enough back than. Now I am creating tools and building “strength” to face whenever sits there. Mobility training is a unique training system that places specific demands on the nervous system. Where as conventional strength training focuses on improving a particular exercise. Mobility training focuses on becoming stronger at being human. - - Try this hip rotational “flow” that will tax your nervous system and joints to a whole new level. Adjust the heights according. - Few tips..... 1️⃣ Irradiation. Trap air into the abdomen , make fists and squeeze them tight. 2️⃣ Slow it down , feel the control as your hip begins to rotate through internal and external rotation. 3️⃣ Keep the torso straight , focus hard at the task at hand. - Mobility training like this for me , grants access and opens up more opportunity for other movement. PRESS STRUGGLES? 🤸‍♂️ . The press is probably my favourite handstand skill, just feels so badass to perform . If you’re struggling with getting your press then just understand it is really the combination of good flexibility and shoulder strength . If you lack flexibility in the pike or pancake then you will have to planche forward and require much more strength to perform. If you lack flexibility in your shoulders you will also have to rely more on lean and strength to press yourself up . So if you’re strong and can’t do it; stretch. If you’re flexible and can’t do it; strengthen . And if you still can’t do it sacrifice a young lamb on the next full moon and pray that the handstand gods are pleased with your offering. That seems to be how it works . The hang challenge developed by @portal.ido continues. We move to the one arm passive/active hang. It’s easy to want to go here too soon, prerequisites are a passive hang both arms @ 60 seconds and a minimum of 30 seconds in each 5.4.3.2.1 positions of opposite hand. The one arm minimum we use is at least 10 seconds each side, all done with control. No swinging or sloppiness aloud, don’t allow yourself to cheat. It’s the only way for long term sustainable practice.

Они привили мне любовь к правкам (тот самый Magic Touch!) и показали КАК надо преподавать. Очень много в моё понимание йоги внёс @alexanderdudov , когда я училась у него на ТТ по Apnea Yoga. Всегда читаю его посты и удивляюсь, насколько мне резонирует его подход. Саша, спасибо тебе большое 🙏🏻 И пусть это выглядит не как «йога» в первом приближении, но Ido Portal @portal.ido , его мысли, его подход к движению, телу и уму - для меня большое вдохновение. Идо эти феномен - вершина профессионализма преподавания, вершина владения телом, а еще глубокий, умнейший и вообще шикарный мужчина. И да, мне не важны названия. Если я чувствую резонанс с человеком, он меня вдохновляет - расстояния, языки и всё остальное меня не остановят. Так случилось с Райном. I see people chasing strange goals in terms of fitness and health. From people who've never lifted a weight going straight to heavy racks to get that pump bro! Without ever building up tendon or joint strength and stability in all the bendy parts. Or the folks ballooning in the gym and filling their tank with dogshit supplements, eating non stop and never giving the system a rest. And there's many more head scratching pursuits in terms of big asses, hugh chest, and specialists like generally skinny runners etc... Everything with its trade offs. So how to have it all? In order to live in a functional body that can run far, jump high,agile, can sprint fast, extended functional range, strong grip, squat and comfortably, a high level of strength and conditioning from grip to power etc all while doing as much to recover and heal from what I can see requires a rather large spectrum of activities to cover. Personally on my quest to be an all rounded freak I mix it up from time to time but I'm currently on a mix of cross training (bike, row, or HIIT), sprints, tempo runs, long runs, calisthenics, yoga and the best new introcution of Ido Portals movement training. It's a sort of fluid all in one mix that is an art in itself and will strengthen you in ways that's always a pleasant discovery. It's a lot, but I schedule well and each compliments the next. Possible program in the new year coming for people maybe with a more firery drive to really push themselves. In the meantime I'll be posting snippets of what it looks like. As can be seen here I'm doing some of the fundamentals.
