The day I left the Mountains of Japan I was awoken by a blaring phone alarm. Deciding the night previous to capture my final morning in such a surreal place. My sleep deprived and aching body fought me every step of the way. I began trudging along an ice capped road - my face was lashed by icy winds and lack of appropriate clothing left me wondering if I’d ever gain feeling of my extremities again. I wasn’t really enjoying myself. But in the end the pain has brought me pleasure. Looking back at these snaps, triggers memories of intense happiness. I count myself lucky to have had that experience, and will be something I take with me everywhere. As a teen, wannabe photographer, all alone, witnessing Mother Nature in all her beauty.
