Fix Your Squat: Low Bar Edition People come in all shapes and sizes, meaning everyone’s squat will “look” different. A person with long femurs and a short torso will look different in the bottom position compared to a person with short femurs and a long torso. HOWEVER, everyone across all anthropometries will be looking for THE EXACT SAME checkpoints when analyzing their technique. These universal points will insure that you’re lifting with optimal technique, allowing you to lift the most weight in the safest and most efficient manner. WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SQUAT: 1️⃣ Neck in neutral 2️⃣ Eyes fixed to 1 spot on the ground 3️⃣ Elbows locked slightly up to support the bar 4️⃣ Weight balanced over midfoot 5️⃣ Hip crease just below the top of the knee cap 6️⃣ Thighs in line with your feet 7️⃣ Feet flat on the floor Next time you squat, take a video and look back to see if you can check off all 7 of these points. Using Ankle straps to facilitate a cable pec fly, allows me to focus on proper body mechanics, loading the correct join movements for maximum contraction and pec control! Got some ankle straps!? Is it chest day!? Give these a try! You won’t be disappointed. I use some light dumbbells just for my own mental focus aspects And stabilization. Helps me control the muscle and movement better. However, you can do these with or without the dumbbells.

🔥 WORKING OUT WHILE SICK by @mattmcleod6 🔥 - - - - - - I’ve been ravenously washing my hands lately because it seems as though every person I talk to is sick. And if you think about it, the gym is probably INFESTED with tons of germs. . Let’s discuss what you should do if you’re sick: . 🔹First, if you’re contagious, don’t go. Obviously. But second, think long-term. Being away from the gym for a few days (or sometimes weeks) will not cause any muscle loss. If anything, you probably need it. Any “losses” you think happened are just due to loss of glycogen and water in your muscles — making you look small and smooth. It will come back when you lift again. . 🔹If your sickness is occurring above the neck, you need to make a judgement call. @jeffnippard gave a great recommendation in his YouTube video on this subject and said to start off doing 10-20 minutes of cardio and see how you feel. If you feel better (honestly) after cardio, maybe consider lifting. If you feel worse, just leave and try again tomorrow. . 🔹I think the best ways to prevent getting sick are to wash your hands regularly (shocker), eat your fruits and veggies (another shocker), get 7+ hours of sleep per night (super ground-breaking advice here), and if you feel like you’re about to get sick or are about to be exposed to a lot of germs (airplane, traveling, etc.), try consuming 1-2g of vitamin C per day. More is not better. .
