Last night I had a panic attack...
I was going over my budget and I freaked out realizing if I get only part time hours at my job I'm starting at in a week, I won't make enough to live.
Choosing between rent money or feeding myself...
I've never been in this position in my life...
And okay yes, a bit dramatic. I have so much support around me and I know I'll never be truly "screwed", but the point of this trip was to do things on my own. Really take a risk, and the fear of failure before even starting is crippling.
But I have two choices...
⚡ Focus on the fear of failure and state of lack,
⚡ OR focus on the abundance of what I already have around me, and choose to be solution driven.
And to not forget, I am in a BEAUTIFUL country, in gorgeous weather, with amazing people all around me.
There is no doubt in my mind with all of what I already have, I am destined for success (not failure).
So always remember, you have a CHOICE on what to focus on.
Choose love. 🙏🏼

The meaning of life is different for everyone! .
For years I had no idea why I was put on this planet. I knew there had to be some reason; our creator doesn’t put us here just to take up time & space! 😊

I have always had the ability to see both sides of a situation and understand someone else’s point of view. No, it’s not always easy on our ego, but it’s important for complete understanding & good decision making. .
And yes, I have made bad decisions by letting my ego get in the way, but I’ve always been able to eventually see the light and learn from my mistakes. .

The resume we have determines a lot. The secret to land any interview is in your resume. We sometimes need several versions of a resume depending on the targeted job. But most importantly we need to focus on key words, those key words are what you may see in the job description scrambled in your resume to make yourself shine in the lead the of the hiring manager or recruiter. Skills, job duties take a look at them and add it in. When applicants are searched your bound to pop up as one of the first clicks!
You hear it for anything even if your dream job is to be a coach and it’s to do your research. You need to understand the job that you are going for in order to be known as the expert. Read the job description, study the company, research questions that they may ask you. It’s impressive when someone knows what’s needed and beyond. That impression lasts. So study the job.
So we landed the interview right... that was easy. So what happens next. I don’t see many people doing this and it needs to be done. Follow up. And I’m not saying call them and say ‘hey, did I get hired’ I mean at least 24 hours after your interview send them a thank you letter. This letter is an over view of your interview and explaining why you are right for this job. It leaves a positive expression no matter what position you are going for

I get it 🖤 I know you are scrolling through your Instagram feed seeing person after person look like they are doing wonderful things, living confident AF, doing the most awesome stuff, looking beautiful as ever, posting gym selfie after gym selfie and making it look EASY.
It’s not that easy. It’s not rainbows and butterflies. Not anymore. I used to, though. A lot.
Diets, workout programs, free challenges, blogging, personal development...quit, quit, quit, quit, quit.
But that's because I set these INSANE expectations on exactly what it had to look like, and if I missed a workout or ate a cookie or didn't journal one morning, I'd look at it, and myself, as a failure.
A big thing I've learned over the last year is to let go of *how* I'm going to get to where I want to be.
Things NEVER look the way I expect them to, so I figure, why keep putting that pressure on myself?
Now, it's more about the journey. I know, undoubtedly, that whatever goal I set, I'm going to reach it, so the best I can do is my best, take that imperfect action every single day and let things unfold as they're meant to.
It was NOT easy to get here, and sometimes I feel myself getting pulled back into the "but HOW am I gonna do this?!", but I have to say, life feels a lot easier now.
Things will work out in the way they're supposed to 100% of the time. Trust that. Believe that. Remind yourself of that every single day and keep doing the work. You'll be SO thankful you did.

Tired of your slow metabolism?
I’ve heard it a lot since my Day 1 video!
“But Alex, my metabolism is just slow”.........
In my video I say “eat more to burn fat”
Generally a “slow metabolism” means an ADAPTED metabolism. aka your body has adapted to the stressors you’ve placed on it or the food you’ve been giving it.
‼️STRESSORS‼️ - doing a LOT/excessive of cardio or even weightlifting. Your body adapted to that energy expenditure and needs QUALITY FUEL to recover and survive.
🚶🏻♀️DAILY ACTIVITY🚶🏻♀️ - you may be a very sedentary person. It’s very common for people to think they’re more active than they are. We are MEANT to move! If you’re getting 2k-3k steps a day, you’re not going to NEED the calories of someone getting 10k-12k.
🍟SNACK ATTACK🍟 - are you a grazer? You’ll eat your main meals, well portioned out, very balanced, then, in between your snackin mindlessly and probably eating an additional 500-800 calories!
⬆️piggy backing⬆️ - those “0 calorie” toppings or “low cal” options all actually have ~5 calories in them, it sounds small, but constant addition of these to EVERY meal HEAVILY, will make a big difference!
👶🏻 YOURE NOT REAAAAALLLLYYYY WORKING OUT👶🏻 - you go to the gym, you go through the motions, you check your Instagram, you work your jaw (chattin), then you leave without even touching a weight. As the AVERAGE weight loss client do I tell them to be DYING at the end of their set..? I encourage it. This does NOT mean throw weights around. It means focus on your form, SQUEEEEEEEZE your muscles, and push yourself till your uncomfortable. If you’re chatting DURING a set, you’re not working out hard enough.

I freaking LOVE my life because I get to live it on my terms.
I love it because I get to wake up every single day doing EXACTLY what I was put on this earth to do.
I love it because manifested this life, something I was told “isn’t possible for me”. I remember the days when having an online biz was a dream of mine, but seemed SO far away, even impossible.
I thought it was “too late to start”. I thought people wouldn’t take me seriously. I figured because I had like 200 followers, it just wouldn’t happen.
I remember showing up for that 9-5 every day. I was miserable. All I did was day dream about the thriving biz I wanted to create. I remember thinking “is this it? Is this how adulthood is?”. I could not STAND clocking in to a job that I had ZERO passion in, just so I could make money.
I couldn’t stand living my life on others terms. Following a schedule, having zero creativity, & going through the motions day in and day out.
I’ve never been able to do something if my heart isn’t in it. I’m a passionate person, and even at a young age I wanted my job to be something I LOVED.
I never wanted to complain about work. I never wanted to spend 40 hours a week in something that felt hard, that was so bland.
I manifested this life for myself. I get to do whatever I want every day. I get to CREATE and use what I’m passionate about to make a living!
You have one life, why waste it on someone else’s schedule? Why do something your hearts not fully in? Why let your dreams fade, when they are SOOOO possible?

LIFE UPDATE ‼️
I’ve been resting mostly all weekend since I got home from work on Friday, drinking nothing but Emergen-C and water as well as eating soup and a ton of carbs to maintain my energy. I somehow got something weird in my system that caused me to feel extremely weak, have a major headache, and a sore throat on and off. It’s been weird for me to do nothing since I’m aaaaalways used to being on-the-go, working on my business and training program, or training for karate, and I haven’t don’t any of those things at all 😫
Sometimes our body shuts down on us because all we need is to just recover and rest. I had to force myself to do nothing because I know the repercussions of not allowing your body time to heal. It’s a weird and frustrating feeling, because you know you have to do things and your body is literally incapable of performing to do so. Especially on a weekend, this is usually the time where I crank it up a notch but this past weekend was made up of mostly resting for me 😅
BUT I’m feeling 85% better, not as fatigued and out of it, and feel like my strength is coming back. If you’re always on-the-go and you’re hit with any type of sickness, give your body some quality rest time! It’s better to sacrifice 2-3 days of rest than to prolong your recovery to a week or 2 just because you were inpatient to work out or do work. Allow your body to reboot itself and it’ll be up and running in no-time ✌🏼

It’s in doing this I’ve gotten to know myself. To find my true self. To acknowledge the sheer joy, & beauty in this chaotic world around me.

I’ve been there. Where i wasn’t happy with aspects in my life. Feeling frustrated, lost, && lacking confidence.
Truth is once we work from the inside on our mindset, the rest becomes easier. The weightloss, job search, restrictions with our diet.
Helpful tips I’ve used on creating joy:
- Laugh often.
- Socialize with others or close friends.
- Clarify your top priorities.
- Practice self care daily.
- Be here now.
You’re fully capable of embracing & creating the life you want. The others who you see around you doing it, aren’t more special than you. They simply put their self worth first.

IT HURTS!!! After MyEms training yesterday 😬 so it was 20 minutes only with this weird diving suite (lol) on, and holy moly it was hard. Only couple of sets and few reps and we were officially done. 😅
Especially abs and shoulders are soooo sore 😩 I hope they will open a studio in Turku.

Just over here living my best life ✌🏻
I used to care a lot about what other people think. I used to obsess over whether someone liked me or what they would think about me if I didn't do what was expected or if I went against what everyone else was doing.
I would lose sleep over a comment someone made. I would let others opinions of what they thought I should do impact my actions even if it wasn't actually what I wanted to do.
Last night at dinner, I told Landon that I really don't give a fuck what anyone thinks about me or my life anymore. And it was the first time I think I truly 100% meant it. I am too happy and too focused to care if someone thinks I travel too much. Or if someone thinks I should "get a real job". I just don't care. At all. Because I'm so happy that anyone who doesn't see THAT isnt my tribe. And that's cool. I still love you, but I don't have space for any negative energy.
Imagine if you could get to that place with your nutrition? What if you could drop what everyone else thought of you and freed yourself of expectation.
You can. You have the power to you just have to realize that no one cares as much about your life as you do and no one is going to do the work for you. That making others feel good about themselves is not worth you feeling bad about yourself. That you deserve to be happy even if that means your tribe has to change. That's okay. You alone hold that key.
I had this conversation with a client this week, a fucking amazing woman, who continues to let what others think of her dictate her actions around food. But this week everything changed. She made the commitment to make only choices that serve HER and her happiness. She finally realized that in the end, the people she was protecting would never do the same for her. She took back her power.

💥💪 HOW TO HIP HINGE 💪💥
The hip hinge is a major glute🍑 & ham🐷-builder, and a fundamental movement pattern that's used in romanian deadlifts (featured here), good mornings, cable pull-throughs, kettlebell swings, cleans & snatches (along with other things that you don't usually do in a gym... 🙊).
It's also a very DIFFICULT movement to master, and the most common one that I see people performing incorrectly (in the gym 😅).
Here are some of the most common mistakes I see, and how to correct them:
❌ Letting your knees come forward/not shifting your weight back enough (1st video)
✅ Your knees should be SOFT (i.e., not locked out), but your weight should be in your heels, and the movement should be straight back at the hips & not down (pretend that your hands are full & you have to close a door with your butt 🤓).
❌ Rounding your back (2nd video, left)
✅ To keep the movement safe & effective, you want to maintain a neutral spine (AKA straight back) throughout - keep your chest up, set your shoulders back & maintain a slight arch in your low-back.
❌ Hyperextending at the neck (2nd video, right)
✅ Think about keeping your chin tucked, or look at a spot on the ground a few feet ahead of you.
✅✅A DRILL TO PERFECT YOUR HIP HINGE (3rd video):
An easy way to make sure that you're performing the movement correctly is to hold a dowel behind you contacting your butt, upper back & back of the head. As you hinge, the dowel should stay in contact with all 3 points the entire time - if anything loses contact, you know you're out of alignement! Once you've mastered that, progress to doing it in front of a wall, reaching back to touch it with your butt (or you could make it a partner exercise 😎) to make sure that you're pushing your hips back far enough. 💪💪

3. The salad bowls always stay full so te sirves 2 veces . Es todo para ti😉
4. No greens. Then EAT the food you are served in limited quantities.
5. Por favor di NO a la coca-cola ... pero para mi eso es mi debilidad.
6. Cuando llegues a casa , drink your water. Don’t you dare skip your workout the whole week🖤
Above all don’t stress ! Enjoy your fam & food. Your waistline should never be sacrificed doing what you love 🎉🙌🏽💕

Fun fact - I grew up in a French household and didn't immerse myself in to English-speaking culture until my mid-twenties, so I totally missed out on Dr. Seuss as a kid, and now it's kind of my favourite.

4️⃣ In a CONTROLLED motion bring the weight back down to your side

Weekend on the go once again, but hey ho. How’s your weekend going?
“How long do I have to follow a workout plan before I see results?”
I get it, not everyone loves to workout as much as me 😉 and results are normally what we’re after, so I do understand why this is a common question at the start of a new routine.
Truthfully, it all comes down to your EFFORTS, routine and how your body responds. But if you’re a beginner + fully challenging yourself there’s no reason why you wouldn’t see or FEEL results within 4-8 weeks🙌🏼
If you’re really wanting to speed up your results, focus more on WEIGHT TRAINING and let cardio be a tool to use as necessary. If you don’t know where to start, I have lots of weighted circuits on my page that are great for tightening your entire body💪🏼
Don’t forget that results aren’t always physical. Things like sleeping better, more energy + increased confidence are just as great!
