Dahlia ‘Jowey Linda’ a lovely new addition to my Dahlia parade.
The rain got the best of my hydrangea today! Between the weather and the weight of the blooms these guys were on the ground. I cut a few off and decided to bring them in 💐

Bee on coneflower, 5 takes. Coneflowers (echinacea) are an amazing source of pollen, nectar and seeds for bees, butterflies and birds. If you have some, you know how they attract bees. This fellow was huge and I’m guessing he was a carpenter bee. (What big eyes you have, sir.) In addition to offering good visuals, these pictures show the quality that can be produced by the iPhone’s 2X optical zoom as well as portrait mode. It’s a poor man’s macro. #coneflowers #bees #insectagram #insectmacro #gardeninglove #flowerpower #ilovemygarden
Thompson seedless grapes are very sweet. These are in their first growing year and are small, and sparse... I hope I get bigger fruits next year, and more abundance.

I found my very first tomatoes this morning and screamed out a shout of joy!!! This variety is Margaret's Best "Tommy Toe" Cherry Tomato. I've never grown cherry tomatoes before, so, woohoo! Pretty excited about the other plants progress today, as well. My cabbage even looks like it's becoming healthier and growing bigger, so, we will see! Yesterday, I was pretty down and out about my garden. It's pretty easy to fall into the rabbit hole of comparison and despair when you see other "first timers" or seasoned homesteaders/gardeners/farmers just raking in haul after haul of produce and you're still sitting there twiddling your thumbs impatiently waiting. But, I don't stay in a funk too long! The magic and blessing of growing your own food brings too much joy to my heart for me to ever stay down too long! Hope your gardens or farms are all incredibly successful this year and that they bring you the greatest joy!
