EAT THE DAMN MCDONALDS . Before you swing past that meal deal section and pick up a packed of chicken salad sandwiches because your "being good" check the label❗❗❗ . The salad sandwiches have 16.2g fat . The burger has 16g fat . Now with a meal deal ofcourse you might want to add crisps say a bag of walkers (around 140cals) then a bottle of coke say (around 200cals) before you no it your meal deal has cost you £3 and over ***800 calories*** is a meal deal really worth it for would you rather a mcchicken sandwich and diet coke? . Do you know what’s cool? Being really f**king shredded. Seeing your muscles contract as you train. Watching you veins emerge after a pump at the gym. Stepping on stage and seeing how your dedication, commitment, and perseverance can pay off, and how amazing it feels to experience what you had set out to achieve for so long. . Do you know what’s also cool? Being at a healthy body fat percentage. Having the energy to smash your sessions and get PBs. Having the opportunity to be a bit more flexible and go out to eat with friends. Not feeling tired all the time. Having a more balanced approach to life, and not finishing each meal already hungry for the next. . I enjoy BOTH sides of competing and bodybuilding. To me, the highs are worth the lows, and nothing worth having is ever easy. If your in it for the long haul, you’ve got to enjoy every step of the way, or else what’s the point? . Three: stop comparing yourself to others. I say this as I panic about applying for internships because I worry about not being as good as other candidates but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and be prepared to face rejection. I find comparing myself to others in terms of ‘intelligence’ or work ethic causes me a LOT of stress and kills my productivity so I’m making an effort to focus on my own method of learning and trusting in that (not an easy task🙂🙃). Something I find really unhelpful at times is watching ‘studytubers’ because I just feel guilty about not working all day/not getting up at 5am etc etc which in reality isn’t healthy for a lot of people and also isn’t necessary. Chocolate Brownie Slices🍫 These are so simple to make and tasty af with a cup of tea give them a go⬇️ Ingredients - 2-3 scoops chocolate protein powder - 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk - 3 tbsp honey - 2 tbsp chia seeds - 180g oats - 160g crunchy peanut butter (whole earth) . . Add milk, honey and peanut butter in microwave for 20 secs, then stir and put back in for 20 secs . Add in oats, chia seeds, protein powder and mix altogether until its a gooey mix . Put in tray with greeseproof paper and spead to corners evenly then freeze for 30mins . LET’S TALK🤔 . So the reason I’ve been so MIA on here lately is because I’ve felt so unwell lately. I have tonsillitis, an infection and now it turns out I *might* have stomach ulcers (unconfirmed but taking tablets to for it). It hurts my insides soooo much to eat, last night my fam went for a curry and I literally had a seat booked on the table and I just couldn’t go. I’ve been feeling so down this past week it’s been awful and waking up all hours of the night just feeling horrendous. I cried at work to my manager on Wednesday too because I just felt so down and in loads of pain☹️ feel really lonely in my flat in Manchester especially when I’m unwell so I’m so happy to be at home🍃 got told by the dr not to go to the gym whilst I’m feeling like this because my body needs to concentrate on getting better and it’s killing me so much!!! Taking the time this evening to reflect on this week and appreciate everything in my life and the moment 💗 . Work has been busy but rewarding, training has been fucking awesome (special thanks to @jackpe_ad for taking me under his wing after about a decade of deliberating 😂). HOLIDAY DIET🏖 . . Do i Diet on Holiday? I never diet i try my best to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle and relationship with food, when i go on holiday i would make my breakfasts majority of the time and some lunches if itd self catering, not because i need too but because i have a morning routine and also if i want to track i can scan the barcodes. . . I eat and drink what i want because holidays are for letting your hair down and enjoying yourself, you dont drink cocktails everday when you are home..away you might and so what your probably away for a week or 10days its not the end of the world if you gain a few lbs they will come off again! . . Once i get home i try get right back into normal routine straight away, getting a healthy shop in and going to the gym because number 1 i have had my break number 2 i have missed it and number 3 il feel 110% better when iv done it! . . Some may say this is healthy which yea its ok i guess but to my shock there was almost 10grams of sugar in the fat free Greek yogurt alone like wtf😂 So will i have this again..NO! Did i enjoy it? Throwback to when I was a human cheesegrater 🔪 These days I just eat the cheese instead 🧀 🐷 . Abs are revealed when you lower your body fat, although the level of leanness you need to achieve for visible abs varies from person to person. For me, I do not walk around with chiseled abs year round. This look 👆🏼was the result of a combination of low food, high cardio, large drop in body fat and implementing peak week strategies such as carb loading and water manipulation 💦 . It is NOT maintainable for me to look like this year-round, and I’m ok with that. I’m feeling positive this week 😊 My goal is to maintain some semblance of balance, and focus on dividing my time between work, training, rest, recovery, and spending time with loved ones and family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 . Last night instead of my usual training session, I started the week off with an evening in the National Concert Hall, as I took my mum to see This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay. We both loved the book so I surprised her by getting tickets for her birthday 🎂 . I’m so glad I spent this time bonding with her, and I will compensate missing this training session another day this week. (Also smashes an upper session tonight dw guys RIP my shoulders 🙃) . Balance is possible ⚖️, but it can be tricky to achieve. TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY As the saying goes a picture says a thousand words. Isnt it great to look back at old photos and see how far you have come!! Back to when i was a teenager eating and drinking everything and anything without a care in the world until i became an age where image mattered and untimately how i felt in myself mattered. So i changed my ways i started to eat alot better i was more consious of my choices, i was eager to learn about food and fitness. I remember in junior and senior high school going with my blazer filled with fruit i would sit at the table at break time and while some of my friends would have a pizza slice or a sausage roll i pulled out a plum and orange🤣. It worked!!! I wasnt restricting myself, i new that the fruit was better, i new i wanted to be better and so i was commited to making better choices and now i help others ditch the diet and live a real life with foods they enjoy and foods which are nutrient dense a life with no limitation. A good balance. ~Dealing with stress~ Exercise is something I always used as a means of managing stress, but I’ve definitely been slacking over the past few months. What’s the best book you’ve ever ready? YAS it’s Wednesday and I’m feeling good because I just completed my shoulder session, and nothing beats a good shoulder pump for lifting your mood 👊🏼 . My passion for training took a bit of a hit post competition season, which left me feeling guilty and like a fraud if I’m honest. The post show period is tough, and no matter how much advice you are given by others, nothing prepares you for the physical and mental battle you can face during this time. . I’m proud to say that I pushed through the struggles of lethargy, hunger, the mental effect of weight gain, and the frustration of absolutely dreading my sessions. I’ve discovered my love for this sport again, the feeling of constantly progressing and improving, and always working on strengthening my mind and my body 💗 . I used to be a relentless party girl, drinking myself to the point I’d black out. I’m sharing this with you because I was every definition of ‘before’ that you can imagine. 1️⃣I hated working & was so unproductive 2️⃣I despised going to the gym & gorged on chocolate 3️⃣I drank myself sick to escape from reality ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let me tell you this right now: ☝🏼No matter WHERE you are in life right now, you CAN change it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In a job you hate? Change it. Not where you want to be in business? Change it. Don’t have the body you want? Change it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In order to make a change, you need to commit to it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If, right now, you’re thinking “that’s easy for you to say, you don’t... ____,” then hone in on that and be HONEST with yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You see my ‘after’ but you don’t know what I was like before I SACRIFICED and COMMITTED to working 15+ hour days, training, and eating well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You may have to: •Change your friendship circle (I lost TONS of friends because they thought it was weird that I no longer wanted to go out partying •Structure your day differently (I now wake up EARLY and prioritise my most important, income and impact producing tasks) •Eat different food •Invest time, money and effort into yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But guess what?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s fricken worth it. You CAN make the change. But change won’t happen if you continue doing what you’re doing right now. You need to do something DIFFERENT to make it happen. I’m not saying you CAN’T party (or whatever). Who even defines ‘professionalism’ anyway? Secondly, when it comes to content creation you aren’t going to please everybody. When you do try to please everybody, your message becomes weak and wishy washy. In order to create ‘share and tag worthy content’ you need to have a strong opinion which adds value to a particular niche within a particular industry. Thirdly, show your personality and be you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know that MY PEOPLE (💓) are people who will see a photo like this and be interested to read the caption immediately. 🌟HAPPY HUMP DAY🌟 Had a wonderful few days in London with my mum, now I’m on the way back to Manchester for work and then on Friday / Saturday all my best friends are coming to celebrate with me!!! Homemade Chocolate Coconut Energy Balls🍫 . 100g oats 60g crunchy peanut butter 40g honey 2 heaped tablespoons cocoa powder 20g unsweetened desiccated coconut Water . There are so many ways you can change this recipe up...but i ❤ chocolate so i had to add in some . Heat peanut butter and honey in microwave for 20secs them combine all ingredients together..keep adding wayer until you get the consistancy you need then with damp hand roll into balls and set in fridge for 15mins🙌 . I'm going to let you in to a little secret... 🙊🙊🙊 Even though I work full time as a creator, I've never actively advertised myself or applied for jobs - all of my projects come from an existing client referring me to a new client or my clients just coming back for more and more! You don't need a million followers to book yourself solid but you do need top level customer service! People don't just buy in to your work, they buy in to you, your work ethic, your passion and a professional relationship with you so you need to stay in their good books! Here's 3 things you need to be doing - no excuses! 1. Answer your messages as soon as possible and don't keep people waiting around for you 2. Bounce ideas and draft content back and forwards to make sure the final product matches your client's vision. I can tell you now there's nothing worse than getting to the end of a project and having to start all over again because it "just wasn't right" 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ 3. Be open to new ideas and new challenges. My clients keep me on my toes and force me to keep learning new and more efficient techniques to create even better content every time. Don't turn down a project because you're scared you can't use Photoshop or a green screen - Google it, YouTube it and start implementing new skills as you need them! Some times you will need to pass it on to a real expert but diversifying your skills is super helpful for you and your client so you can keep working together again and again. Why Do I Have Sore Knees? 🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♀️ . A couple of my clients have this and Iv had this problem to! Knee pain is a common exercise complaint. The knee is an intricate joint, involving bones, menisci, muscles, tendons, and ligaments all supporting the joint. . . It is common with young people who play sports and exerxise. Its called patellofemoral painsyndrome- often caused by imbalances around the knee. . . Check it out with your doctor and if they say its ok and you can continue to exercise the best thing to do and what i was advised was to strengthen the muscles around your knee that support it and keep flexible. . . If you're a student who doesn't love their subjects or if you're stuck working in a job you just don't care about I bet you've played with the idea of quitting at least once a day since you first picked up a camera 📷🎥 I know I have and I still do! I can also bet that all of the people closest to you - friends, family, colleagues, tutors etc etc - are calling up to try and convince you to stay on the beaten path at least once a day too! We love them and there's no doubt about that but you can't live your life just to please other people - what about what you want? As children we used to be restricted by rules and guidelines out of our control but as adults (or at least old enough to be 🙈) we're restricted more by a fear of other people's opinions of us than anything else. As I'm typed that out even I can see how ridiculous that is but here's the truth: 🙏🙏🙏 You CAN be a full-time creator. You CAN pay your bills. You CAN work from anywhere in the world. Fears For The Weekend😱 Do you freak at the weekend because you havent prepped, you will be out most of the day, your going for a meal, your partner wants to get takeaway or your friends have invited you round for a few drinks with nibbles? If this is you i want to tell you that you can have a balance enjoy your food without going crazy! Eating smart on the go staying within a calorie range and not going overboard...heres my tips SUBWAY⬇️ Get a salad bowl without cheese (to save calories) & choose the lowest calorie sauce its usually honey mustard or sweet onion. Or choose a flatbread with lean meat- turkey & ham will be way better than meatballs or tuna in mayo . TESCO/ASDA/SAINSBURYS⬇️ Go to the cooked meats section & get a packet of ham, roast beef or turkey (high in protein) or go to the healthy options at the sandwich counter, if its a meal deal get water or sugar free fizzy & light crisps. . MCDONALDS⬇️ Choose a wrap without chips and a bottle of water, add a fruit bag instead. Have 6 chicken nuggets and a coke zero no chips or have a salad bowl, stay clear of full fat drinks and ice-cream, double cheeseburgers etc. . CHINESE⬇️ Opt for meat and vegetables instead of having chips, have boiled rice and half the portion with someone, chow mein cooked in soy sauce any sweet dishes is likely to be high in sugar. . If your planning on a large meal or takeaway i suggest eating less throughout the day to allow extra calories for your treat.
