Because I’m worth it! No, but seriously why not? We deserve to be served good food, in a nice restaurant, by nice people sharing it with people we like.
I remember a lecture in philosophy in high school, we were discussing what a “good life” is and how we would define it. After having some discussion with each other we asked our teacher what the “right” answer was. Obviously, that’s a question you shouldn’t ask a teacher in philosophy because he will either go through every possible answer there is, in his head drifting away in infinity, or tell us there’s no such thing as the right answer. This one was different, he didn’t do any of those thing, instead he said that he defined a good life as having the fortune to share a meal with people you like and having good conversations with them. Growing up, I’ve started to appreciate the simplicity and the luxury it truly is to have someone to share a meal with and being able to talk about anything with. #thegoodlife
