The BEE 🐝 dress 3 week transformation First pic - taken on 31st Dec 2018 Second pic - 7th January 2019 Third pic - today 20th January 2019 The dress wouldn’t zip up on week 1 and two and you can see I am holding with my hand to close it in the second photo. I did think of not posting a transformation pictures till I complete my 14 weeks but the results have been so good, I find it hard to believe and I thought you won’t believe it’s me at the end of 14 weeks 😝😝😝😝 So there’s a story behind this lovely dress, i bought this dress 4 years ago. (2015) when I was my fittest and no excess tummy fat and fit fit body and I thought THIS IS IT never again will I put on weight. Then my injuries happened, arthritis happened and my weight loss journey has been up and down. In spite of my injuries, arthritis, career, consulting job and creation of My Maya Life I have tried very hard to maintain a healthy life. But as you can see I don’t fit in to this damn dress like I did. So I thought why not use this to be my motivation. It has been three weeks since I started my diet i have lost 2.8 kilos and I am seeing great inch loss. The Eden Experience: The Indian Platter, exhibited in order of appearance. Eden is a childhood haunt fo most folks who have been in the area. Its a lovely place for friends and family to get together. The Indian platter that we chose for a change was delicious, though very rich and heavy. Pricing was more than reasonable. So today, I have been working around the house, cleaning my car and taking care of my plants to get some work out. Ofcourse, I am doing my Intermittent fast as well. If possible, I will try a prolonged fast. For the mains we were served small cups of heavy duty delight: potato roast, dal makhani, raita, mixed vegetables to go with our mixed rice, parathas and pappad. The potato roast was just amazing: crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! Service was also good and it was getting jam packed quickly. Glad we came in early and left at the right time after a good conversation. I chose Kettlebell Swings as they are my favourite and also safest for me as I suffer from injuries and arthritis and I find kettlebells really safe but highly effective. MILANS-SOHO ROAD Mum really wanted to go milans the other day so we popped by. A huge variety was on offer. We picked: peri mogo chips -was just mogo topped with peri sauce. Have had better. idli sambhar- this was yummy especially wih the coconut chutney. lilu chewroh- bought this for the husband but it is suprisingly addictive! paneer bhajiya-loved this alot, 2 slices of paneer with chutney inbetween and fried in batter. kachori-suprisingly tasty, i thought it'd be full of dhal but it had lots of peas in too. veg tikki-reminded me of saudia as we used to have it for iftaar there at the hotel. Really tasty. mung daal bajiya- did not like this at all. Super dry! Stuffed pepper- this was okay, tasted better hot. Corn Methi Pulao by @tarladalal Ingredients  1 cup long grained rice (basmati)  2 to 4 black peppercorns (kalimirch)  12 cinnamon (dalchini)  2 cloves (laung / lavang)  2 cardamoms  1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies  1/2 cup sliced onions  3/4 cup fenugreek (methi) leaves chopped  1/2 cup sweet corn (makai ke dane)  1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)  1 tbsp butter  1 tbsp oil  salt to taste For Serving fresh curd Method  1. Wash the rice and keep aside.  2. Heat the butter and oil in a pressure cooker, after heated add the peppercorns, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and sauté for ½ a minute.  3. Add the onions and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes.  4. Add the fenugreek leaves, corn kernels and sauté for 1 minute.  5. Add the rice and 2 cups of hot water, salt, turmeric powder and green chillies and stir for a few seconds.  6. Pressure cook for 2 whistles. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. If you are like me, you can never have too many paneer recipes! Growing up Saturdays’ would be our meatless days or our vegetarian days. And paneer would be on the menu and I would wait all week for it. In my mom’s culinary lexicon, vegetarian curries are sans onion and garlic. And even today, every time I can get my hands on a recipe that does not have onion and garlic, I bookmark it. And if you think of it, it is two less ingredients to chop 🙈 so tonight’s dinner was this quick Laal Paneer Lababdar. Very easy and requires just a few ingredients and if you love to have such vegetarian show stoppers in your arsenal, follow the recipe below: Paneer- 350 grams, cubed Grated fresh ginger- 1 tbsp Dried ginger powder -1 tbsp Fennel powder - 2 tsp Cinnamon - 1 inch stick Bay Leaf - 2 Green Cardamom - 4-5, pounded Black Cardamom- 1, pounded Cloves- 2-3 Butter- 1/4 cup Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp Salt- To taste Sugar-To taste Tomato puree- 3/4 cup Kashmiri Red chili powder- 1 tbsp Kasoori methi- 2 tsp Garam Masala- 1 tsp Heat the vegetable oil in the pan. Add the paneer pieces in the oil. Brown the paneer pieces. Take them out and drop them in warm water. In the same pan, add the butter. Let it melt and add whole spices. Stir for a min or two till it gets fragrant & brown. Add the ginger and stir for a couple of minutes. Pour in the tomato purée and keep stirring. Add ginger powder and red chili powder. Mix it in and cook for a min or two. Add 1 cup of water and let it come to a boil. Add salt and sugar. I add about 2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of sugar. But adjust it as per your taste. Throw in the paneer pieces. Let it simmer over medium heat for 5-6 mins until the gravy is thickened and to the desired consistency. Remove from heat. Add garam Masala and kasoori methi and mix it in. As requested by my lovely followers, presenting you all “Fry dhaba style Mash Daal” (fry white lentils). To make this aah-mazing daal you’ll need to follow this recipe. (Taken by KCH) DHABA STYLE MASH DAAL Mash lentil 1.5 cup Onion 1 medium finely chopped Tomatoes 3 thinly sliced Chopped ginger 2 tbsp heaped Julian ginger 2 inch piece Gg paste 1 tsp heaped Green chillies 3-4 sliced Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes 1 tsp Salt as per taste Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp Whole spice powder 1/2 tsp Dry fenugreek 1 tbsp Cumin 1 tsp Fresh coriander 1/2 bunch chopped Oil/ghee 1/2 cup Boil lentil n keep aside straining its water in a cup (don't waste its water),heat ghee in pan add chopped ginger saute for a min then add onion n saute until it gets soft (don't fry it) add in gg paste saute for a few seconds then add cumin,chilli powder n flakes,coriander powder,salt n turmeric,braise for a few min adding a little daal water then add tomatoes n allow to tender for a while adding up little amount of water. As tomatoes get tender add boiled lentil as well as the remaining water n braise on medium to high flame for a 2-3 min,adding green chillies,fenugreek,garam masala n half of fresh coriander.
