It truly infuriates me that the issue around parkland is one huge hot potato of blame in which people refuse to hear both sides. After watching the NRA spokeswoman at the town hall meeting in Florida I honestly don't quite understand the public outrage she received. People are rightfully gaining up on this association, but also refusing to listen to any of the points. Yes, guns need to be restricted. Yes, bumpstocks should be illegal. But WHY is it this person was able to obtain a weapon. WHY were the FBI tips and police visits ignored and unreported. WHY are these deranged people falling through the cracks. The NRA women emphasized highly that yes, things need to change, but it goes far beyond that of just banning guns. She advocated more in depth laws requiring more than the 38 states to report criminal activity into their database. She advocated restrictions on guns. And yet she was screamed at, as if no one was listening to her defense at all. Purely because she was representing the company many feel is to blame. It's just confusing to me that people would be so heavily biased to disregard someone stance even though it correlates with their own. Also, praise Rubio, Nelson and Deutsch all for participating and answering the public's questions accordingly. Change DOES need to happen, but in order to do that people need to actually listen to eachother.
