Ketika orang bertanya manfaat dan tujuan, aku hanya berfikir tentang keindahan, kedamaian dan sisa kuota ,,,-
Indonesia consists of many different ethnic groups and is considered as one of the most ethnically diverse societies, and therefore Indonesia carries a variety of beautiful and colorful cultures. In 1945, Indonesia declared its independence from the Dutch, an iconic historical moment for the country. Many of the monuments built when Indonesia was still under the colonization of the Dutch are still present today, scattered all around the country. Being an Indonesian myself, Indonesia never fails to amaze me with its history - its story. When I was on my way to Cirebon, I witnessed the fascinating transition between the city and the country which was definitely eye opening. The city was surrounded by skyscrapers, hustling with busy workers commuting to their workplace. On the other hand, the country was surrounded with rice plantations and huts made of bamboo for farmers to rest in when fatigue settles in. When the driver gleefully announced that we have arrived in Cirebon, I was genuinely impressed. I thought to myself how we all live our lives with a similarly structured routine, interacting with the same group of people, just getting on with our lives, but how often do we think about how there are more than 7 billion people living in this planet that we call home? how often do we think about the things that we haven’t seen or heard? There are so many new things to be discovered, will we be able to discover them all or even a fraction of them during our life span? The things that we do know though, our knowledge, really is the size of a dust particle in comparison to what the world and the universe hold - beyond human reach.
