I am posting about some interesting facts on vitamin D. Realizing there is more to its absorption than just sunlight or not.
1. SEASON: study done in Boston saw that when skin was exposed to sunlight (cloudless days) for 3 hours per month, skin was able to synthesize vitamin D during aprik to october. But not nov to February.
2. LATITUDE: study showed synthesis during nov to march in LA and Puerto Rico but not in Edmonton.
3. PIGMENT: last study showed that 6 times the amount of simulated solar irradiation was needed in individuals with more pigment, to raise serum levels of vitamin D3 to that of less pimented individuals.
Soooo obviously there are many factors that play a part in your D3 synthesis. We see clients d3 levels fall in the summer. Many people stop taking it due to sunshine hours. these factors may explain why!
Every cell in your body has a D3 receptor we all need it!
