Science vs. Pseudoscience
The battle rages on between science versus pseudoscience. Science works to consider all the evidence, finds qualified individuals to discuss and hash out ideas with, changes when hypotheses are not valid from previous research, stays skeptical while looking for new research or learning, and uses criticism to design better studies. Pseudoscience prays on individuals with widely false claims, large boasts that X can “cure” or “fix” someone, becomes defensive when actual research does not support their claims, and uses methods that are not scrutinized through peer review.
Some ideas that fit the pseudoscience mold:
1) Bulletproof Coffee (Dave Asprey)
2) CBD Oil and essential oils
3) Dr. Mercola, Dr. Oz, Dr. Axe
5) David Wolfe
6) The Food Babe
7) Herbalife, Advocare, and other MLM schemes
8) Adhesions, trigger points, releasing muscles and tissues
This list is just some of the many individuals or claims that have no clinical support or inconclusive at best. Those in the science community grounded in solid foundations along with research will continue to root out those who falsely put pseudoscience on a pedestal.
Do not fall victim to pseudoscience science because through social media and word of mouth these ideas spread quickly, so just say no and stay skeptical.
