• 2 apples, cored and chopped
• 2 bananas, sliced
• 1 cup grapes, halved
• 1/2 cup dates, chopped (optional)
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream whipped on high with 2-3 tablespoons honey added in at the end

If you’ve been around here for a while, you might recall that every Thanksgiving I am in charge of the annual two loaves of Pumpkin Cinnamon Bread. The usual process is to get up super early, make the dough and let the bread rise but this year, I wanted to try something different. I took all of Sunday to makes these loaves and now they are sleeping in my freezer until Thursday.
There’s always something when making this bread and this time I found that the dough initially hadn’t risen at all. I thought I was going to have to start from scratch like I did 2 years ago. Thankfully, it was merely just very cold and needed a warm oven to perk up. Hoping once these defrost they’ll be just as good as if I had made them fresh! Or else it’s back to the usual way next year. #kbckitchen #cinnamonbread

Purple asparagus is a similar in appearance and flavour to both white and green varieties as its original cultivar came from green asparagus. Its differentiated by its violet hued stems and conical crowned tips, however its feathery foliage is still green. Its attractive violet colouring is only skin deep as its flesh is pale green to creamy white. It is inherently less fibrous thus more tender than other asparagus types. Also, its preferred sweetness is due to its twenty percent higher sugar content than other asparagus varieties. Cooked, purple asparagus develops flavour notes of artichoke, barley and almonds.
Purple asparagus is tender enough to be eaten raw and if cooked, it will dull in colour. Cooking should be done so over high and brief heat, whether grilled, sauteed or steamed. Little embellishment is needed to showcase purple asparagus' best qualities. Both purple and green asparagus are in season.

All Butter Pie Crust| Make your pies this year - you can do it! The key to pie crust is keeping things cold, seasoning well with salt, using butter for maximum flavor, not overworking the dough, and keeping a good amount of butter chunks. As you roll the dough out, the butter become layers which trap steam and make the pie crust flaky. For the pie crust, pulse 1 cup flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a food processor. Add 6 tablespoons butter (cut in slices) and pulse until butter is still chunky (blueberry sized). Add 1/4 cup ice water and pulse 1-2 times. Bring together into a ball, flatten it into a disk, wrap in plastic and rest in fridge for 30 min. If you don’t have a food processor, mix the dry with a whisk, use your fingertips to mix the butter in and then add water. The dough will keep 2 days in the fridge. I make 12 crusts at a time and freeze them. These are the same crusts I use for galettes. DM me for my pumpkin pie recipe (it’s based on the one off the can). 😂

✅ 1 cup pomegranate seeds (press thru a mesh sieve to get about 4 tablespoons of juice). ✅ 1/3 cup olive oil @caoliveranch
✅ 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar ✅ 1 tablespoon of honey ✅2 tablespoons dijon mustard @mailleus
✅S&P to taste
Wisk ingredients together for dressing. Chop 2 large bunches of kale + massage in dressing. Top w/ pomegranate seeds + toasted pistachios + feta cheese! ..
