serves up really awesome soft serve in my favourite blue and I really like their version where the soft serve still has a degree of ice cream hardness and doesn’t melt too easily. From Kindori by the folks behind Renga-Ya, which serves up Japanese fried chicken using kampung chicken at CHIJMES. Felt the chicken pieces here were a little scrawny, but otherwise the skin is pretty crisp while the flesh is juicy and tender; pretty well marinated for flavour. Offering a wide variety of sauces, we went for the Karē Curry, Wasabi Cream and the Tangy Miso — our pick being the Karē Curry and the Tangy Miso; the former carrying a savoury hint of curry that is typical of curry seasoning with a creamy texture, while the latter features a bean-y flavour that comes with a slight tang that is pretty refreshing.

Definitely a Go-to Dessert Place to satisfy your Ube Cravings! This is their second store (Opened in Sep); first store being in Kentish Town. They have a variety of Ice Cream 🍨 flavours and desserts so that’s definitely something that fits your palate!
Halo Halo (£6.50) - A popular Filipino dessert; different places might have a slight difference in toppings. At mamasons’, they serve it with Shaved Ice 🍧, Ube Ice Cream 🍨, Leche Flan, Nata de Coco, Jackfruit, Coconut 🥥 Strands, Evaporated Milk 🥛, Cornflakes and a Stik-O (Filipino Wafer Sticks) - Hopefully I’ve got all the ingredients there. Despite the cold weather, I enjoyed every bit of it and can’t wait to have it again!
Ube Doughnut 🍩 (£3.50) - Light, Fluffy & Airy doughnut 🍩 filled with Ube Cream and covered with sugar. If this isn’t doughnut perfection, I don’t know what is.
Ube Coco (£5) - Hot Ube White Chocolate topped with Ube Whipped Cream & Melted Marshmallow and Ube Flakes on the rim. Definitely a Must-Have if you’re a white chocolate lover!
A pity that I was too full to try the season special Taho but I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

cos there's too much mixed feelings about it.
I do absolutely love both the prawn and fish broth cos it's so rich with umami goodness.
But there was no shrimp wanton when my noodles was served cos it was stuck in traffic (😕) So they replaced it with another prawn. As a fan of any prawn by product rather than the prawn, it's a 'no-no' for me.
Halfway through the meal, the wantons arrived. And we end up having to order a plate just for it.
Which I'm glad I did, cos it's actually my favourite dish out of the entire meal.
And fish soup, although the meat is fresh, it had only 5 half-size chunks which is pretty hefty for the price.
I hope it's just the excitement of the opening. I'm gonna wait till everything has settled before giving it another shot. @paradisegrpsg

Thanks to a friend who visited us from the UK that we had a chance to be a "tourist" in Singapore for a day. She wanted badly to try our signature Singapore Sling and enjoy the view overlooking MBS area. With that in mind, we went to Ce La Vi, lvl 57 at MBS. Good thing that the dress code was casual for sundays and we went in with comfortable tank tops and slippers. The place was quite crowded and we managed to get a small table for the 5 of us. The view was really quite spectacular and our dear friend enjoyed it very much. We ordered the Singapore Sling and it came with nice little flower decorations with it. Glad that our UK friend liked the drink and was quite impressed with the unique concoction of Singapore Sling. It tasted much better than I can recall on the SQ plane which was the only time I had Singapore Sling actually. Well I guess I need to try it on SQ flights again, time to travel!

The past few months, and especially the past month, I just got sucked into my new job. And that's not a bad thing because I love my job. And I love that it's opened me to a new world of amazing buffet food. When the organisers pull out all the stops even for the buffet lunch, you know how important food is to the sanity and happiness of Singaporeans. 😇 ▫️
I don't really have the time or energy to go gallivanting about town now to look for the latest food promotions and trendy food. But I am thankful that a late night seminar event ends with some of the most wonderful buffet food I've ever had. (And it's always free! SCORE! 🥅)

One of my favourite dishes, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, served with sweet potato mash and succotash. Think of crunchy cornmeal crusted with well- marinated juicy chicken meat. 😋 Also, not forgetting cocktail pairing by As’ad’s - be it sour, bittersweet or tropical cocktails.
