You know it. This is your "have yourself an awesome Buller-style day off" post. Buckle up.
Start off choosing a beautiful sunny day. There is no point otherwise.
Steal your friend's dad's favorite car and head uptown to #3ArtsClubCafe
for brunch (Pic 2). Though their lunch menu was underwhelming, the venue is stunning and the wait time is not so bad when you are on a rooftop sipping mimosas.
Park the car in a shaddy garage and head south (#uber
, please) and enjoy the sunny day by strolling through #SoldierField
(Pic 3), home of the #ChicagoBears
. Catch a game, maybe catch a ball.
Stop by the next door #SheddAquarium
(Pic 4) to remind yourself that fish are friend, not food (we♥️🐳 and never ever miss out on a chance to see one). Great skyline views of Chicago seen from the ground, just outside these doors (Pic 5).
Continue heading up north and peep through #ChicagoCulturalCenter
(go to 2 posts ago with the beautiful stained-glass domed roof), the city's very own first public library.
Keep on walking and say hello to the #MagnificentMile
(pic 6). You will understand in a second why they named it that way. By now, you must be hungry again. As Italian descendents, we feel obliged to recommend going to #Eataly
(though they still refuse to pay us). It is that good.
Now hurry just before sunset to the top of the #HancockTower
. Be amazed that Chicago has beaches (yep, you read right - pic 7). And you know what? Grab yourself a drink on the bar (Pic 8) , you deserve it on your day off. Fans of the #WillisTower
, avert your eyes! But the view from up here is way better. Just don't be fooled into tilting. Unless you'd like to have a life long joke saying "I tilted, did you?".
Sunset gone, beer drank, watch amazed as city lights start to blink and a full full moon grows over #lakeMichigan
Finally, recover your car from the garage, surprisingly intact, but don't head home. Go to #GooseIsland
and have another beer (pic 10). And a factory tour. And another beer. Because when you "drink Goose Island, you save the world". And we do not want this day to end. Ever.
Follow these steps and have a happy Chicago sightseeing!
