What we look like on the outside doesn’t always reflect what’s going on inside. 🌼
I decided to jump on this 10 year challenge bandwagon to talk about something incredibly important. 🌼
The 1st & 3rd photos are me today. Let’s talk about photo # 2 first. 🌼
On the outside, I look like what our society would probably deem “hot.” On the inside, I was an absolute wreck. 🌼
I still thought I needed to lose weight. I wasn’t eating enough food. I thought the less calories I ate, the better. I was always angry because I was always hungry, but God forbid I went over 1200 calories in a day or something equally ridiculous. Something was always setting me off. My hormones were an absolute mess; I was miserable 2-3 weeks out of the month. My menstrual cycle would completely stop periodically because I didn’t have enough fat on my body to function like a healthy female. My sex drive eventually fizzled out. My OCD & anxiety ran amok. I was depressed. I’d unknowingly triggered my autoimmunity by getting toxic breast implants because I just couldn’t be happy with what I had. I was always trying to “fix” my body into some sort of ideal that I just. Couldn’t. Reach. Nothing was ever good enough. 🌼
I existed in this state for about 8 or so years before I finally woke the fuck up. 🌼
These days, I may be 40 pounds heavier, but I am so much healthier. This is what our society doesn’t seem to understand. That “thin” & “healthy” are not synonymous with each other. You can’t look at the description I just gave of what my life used to be & tell me I was healthy because of the way I looked. 🌼
A lot of things have helped me, but I think the core of my health rests on how I’ve changed my own personal environment. I eat food now, & a decent amount of it. Fat is my friend. Gluten is not. I had my implants removed nearly two years ago. I’ve reduced the toxins in our home & personal care products. It’s all these little things coming together to produce a healthier human being. 🌼
I’ve rambled, I think. The point is that we can be healthy at many sizes, & we can be unhealthy at many sizes. Our size does not necessarily dictate health, & honestly our body knows what’s best for it. 🌼
Those are three terms clients have used to describe me and I’m really grateful for those words of affirmation (my #1
love language). I put my heart and soul into the coaching work I do.
My mission motivates me to keep going despite the fear of how scary this online world can be - the fear of being judged is worth it to know I’ve helped others achieve their goals and dreams.

I finished my last module for @nutritionschool
today and the pinball game in my mind is on continuous play. I have soooo many thoughts, ideas, and dreams that it can become overwhelming at times. 😱
I watched a lecture today from @deepakchopra
and was reminded again of how important it is to practice quieting the mind in a form that serves you. Quieting the mind quiets the body, giving it the time it needs to reach a stable equilibrium. This is wellness.
Meditation isn’t always dimmed lights, relaxing music and essential oils. Sometimes, like now, it’s about self reflection and just being aware. For example, writing these posts is a form of meditation for me. I work out my feelings through words, and if sharing these words inspires even one person, I feel at peace.🙏🏻
Today this practice brought me back to the intention I wrote a ridiculously quick year ago... “I will learn as much as I can about health & wellness, in order to heal myself, and create a life where I am thriving, not just surviving. I will then, become a full-time Health Coach in to order to help those around me, and the world, do the same. By the end of this program the seeds will be planted, and in 3 years or less, a business that has me loving life will be in full bloom!”
Today I plant an additional seed that will not allow perfectionism to keep me from taking action and making an impact no matter how small.

Eating with intention🍽 doesn't have to be complicated. I would love to say I spend hours in the kitchen getting it just right...but I don't. Like the rest of the world, work, family and life are busy. This bowl🍲🥣 takes about 10 minutes!
This is simply:
👉grilled chicken strips @gourmetboutiquefood
👉 rice ramen noodles @lotusfoods
👉lots of broccoli
👉2 tbsp @sanjtamari
gluten free teriyaki sauce
👉1 cup bone broth
Heat up about a 1 cup bone broth in saute pan and cook the ramen noodles and broccoli until just tender. Most of the liquid should be absorbed (add more if you need it). Add in cooked chicken and teriyaki sauce. Cook for about 5 minutes and TADA💥💥

Anxiety is a scary thing. It’s consuming and debilitating and can even manipulate your physical body at times. It’s easy to recluse and stay quiet instead of speaking up, but I’ve only seen that make the anxiety worse. So I’m here, having a day, but sharing anyway to let you know you’re not alone. And it’s ok. I am not my anxiety and neither are you. We are beautiful souls of love and light living life in human form with all its messes. It’s hard. It’s stressful. It hurts like hell sometimes, but it will be alright. Remind yourself who you are. Name all the colors you see around you, slow your breathing, come back to the present moment. This too shall pass. And please, don’t stay quiet. Tell someone you trust how you feel. It gets better I promise.

While it’s true that wellness ties into exercise and nutrition, it’s also about being happy & experiencing positive emotions within oneself.
Sometimes we forget about our happiness by living a fast paced life or falling under a routine. It’s important to remember to stop once in a while and appreciate the goodness around you.
💙If you’re upset and would much rather meet up with a friend than exercise, that’s okay!
💚If you’d rather meditate or exercise instead of going out on a Friday night, that’s fine.
💛If you need a day for just yourself without your phone, take it.
Listen to your desires and remember that wellness plays a role in our spiritual health as well. Some days might be hard, others may be amazing. Practicing self care is not about being selfish, it’s about being aware of ones needs and how to cater to them in a healthy manner.

Ever wonder why it’s so freaking hard to just eat ONE cookie and not 10?

Notice if you're chasing that Bliss Point on a daily basis. Most of us are and don't even realize it, and that's half the battle.
All you have to do to break this habit is pause, and remind yourself- it's just a craving. If you can just surf the urge and let it pass- which it will- you can hop right back in the drivers seat and carry on with uour day without overdoing it on the sweet/salty snacks.
