Who thinks of comfort food as Unhealthy, fatty, carb heavy meals? We don’t! We make your favorite comfort foods, while keeping reasonable macronutrients in mind. Our beef chili is the perfect pick me up on a chilly day!
Most of us understand that sugar is unhealthy, however, many of us are not aware that this includes high-glycemic carbs like spuds, bread, cereal & white rice, that convert to sugar quickly in our bodies. These are the biggest drivers of disease. Don’t be alarmed, there are healthy carbs, the kind that prevent blood sugar & insulin spikes. Most fruits, vegetables, beans, minimally processed grains & nuts fall into this category. Some easy swaps include serving brown rice rather than white, steel-cut oats rather than instant oatmeal, whole-grain bread instead of white & orange sweet potato rather than potato. 🍏🍐🥦🍠🥕🍅🍍🍇🍉🍌🥒🍓🍒 .

Back in 2015, I used to believe that females look thinner in Indian wear.
But none of my loose Indian tunics could ever make me feel beautiful or thin.
I remember complaining to my husband that he does not take good pictures of mine because every picture would remind me of my flaws and insecurities, one of the reason why I do not have many pics from this time.
Now that I look back, I believe I feel as comfortable in any outfit as I am in an Indian wear. It’s more important to feel comfortable WITHIN YOURSELF than on the outside.
Those mental gains is what keeps me motivated on this fitness journey!💕💪🏻 94 weeks of #BBG
and still going!!

After a day of running a 5k and walking a total of 20km I have earned this beautiful creation 👏 @halotopuk
Did my daily walk up the hill in my backyard - did you do your’s?
Remember: There are the 2 things you can do to reverse your T2D:
• daily exercise
• choose wisely what you eat
That’s it - quite simple but still a challenge as you need to do it consistently every day.
Let me ask you....which kind of breakfast are you?!? •
Even if you may not be a fan of eggs, that’s no excuse to be starting your day off with the wrong kind of sugary, greasy, fattening foods.....
For example, an nutrient filling protein shake with @drinkorgain
plant based powder or even Greek yogurt mixed with fruit. Or even some overnight oats. Those two alone your already lowering your sugar amounts and upping your nutrients.....
When you start your day off with a well balance nutritious breakfast your giving your body.....
All essential vitamins
Minerals & nutrients
Reducing your risk of illness
Lowering your chancing of over eating which leads to weight-gain (hangery)
More energy + more......

One of the glorious food editions at our Yoga & Surf Find Your Thrive Retreat this last weekend. YUM! Pretty much sums it up 🙏🏻
Today is tough luck Tuesday for me cause I’m feeling lousy. I had the pleasure of seeing my adorable niece and nephew over the weekend who were visiting from out of state. Unfortunately for me, they were both sick... and now I am too 😢. Which brings me to my topic for today... how to be sick on keto. Sounds like a weird topic, I know, but it’ll make more sense as you read on.
When you’re sick, carbs are usually the first thing you reach for. Whether it is ginger ale, saltine crackers, or even your cough syrup... there’s a lot of sugar surrounding most people’s typical cold and flu experiences. With that in mind, there’s a few things you can do to try and ensure you stay in ketosis while not jeopardizing your health.
Firstly, avoid the easily avoidable! Most cough syrups come in a “diabetic” formulation that does not use sugar. Additional, cough drops/lozenges also come sugar free. Make sure you’re talking to your medical provider about good choices on these.
Next, make smart food choices. If you’re just not hungry, don’t force yourself to eat. Just focus on keeping yourself hydrated and supplementing your electrolytes. When you DO introduce foods, start slow. For those on a ketogenic diet, consider starting with some bone broth. Don’t add a bunch of spices and don’t go with low sodium. Just a plain bone broth. As you start to feel better, a bullet proof bone broth is a good next step. You can then introduce other foods that don’t feel to heavy in your stomach.
Lastly, your health is the most important thing. When you’re sick, the priority isn’t to maintain ketosis. You should still make smart food and medication choices, but ultimately you need to think about getting better first.
I hope this post is helpful and informative. Have you ever been truly sick while on keto? Was it difficult for you? Share your thoughts and questions below!
Dinner from last night was AMAZING!😋
I got a mini squash from the store and it was perfect to portion! I have so much leftovers from the big squash and I wasn’t prepping this week so it was just right!
-I cooked it in the microwave for 5 minutes after poking a few holes in it! Take it out cut it in half, gut it, shred it! And DONE! Super simple, I love to add pesto to mine with some spices!
-the shrimp (4oz) I cooked it in the oven at 425 F for 25 minutes! I marinated it with: honey mustard, lemon juice, a bit of teriyaki sauce, garlic, paprika, and pepper! You can marinate it honestly with whatever you like!
- the veggies were so simple, just steamed on the stove for a few minutes until soft and added pepper and done!
This dinner was so simple and yummy and you can definitely alter it to your liking with flavors! 😋😋😋😍

¼ cup fresh cilantro include the cilantro stems
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp fresh lime juice

Heat 1 tablespoon olive in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chickpeas and saute for 3-5 minutes or until the chickpeas are crunchy.
