💥😈💥😈 LEG DAY 💥😈💥😈 Warm up: - 20 minutes on the stair stepper (my stats are in the video!) 💥 Superset 1: 3 rounds of 20 - banded leg extension - banded duck walk - 45 second break 💥 Superset 2: 3 sets of 12 - leg press (I had 90 lbs on) - squats (I added 25s on both sides) - 45 second rest 💥 Superset 3: 3 sets - good mornings (10 reps) - wall sit with weighted twists (12 reps) - 60 second rest I caved and decided to take a typical post-leg day picture 💁 I'm hoping to see more #hamstring and #quad #definition as my workouts progress! ⚠️FREE EXERCISE ⚠️ - You’re never too young or too old to train in isolation. Here’s one of my all time favourite exercises- 🦵Single Leg getup (there are other names though this is the name I use). What’s great is you don’t need any equipment just a simple chair, step or any flat surface around 45-50cm high. You simply sit and stand supporting your body weight on one leg, while keeping the opposite leg off the ground. - Today we have Anna, my eldest child, demonstrating the basic level of this exercise. To scale down your option is - 1) raise the surface height by adding a cushion or weight plate. This reduces the distance to sit and stand thus reducing loading on the leg. - To scale up the exercise either- 1) reduce the height by replacing eg chair for a small box or 2) adding load eg carrying a 1-2KG bag of rice. - Start with 3 sets, 6-10 reps per side. Rest 60-90secs. Reduce reps slightly and increase sets as well as load as you become fluent. Give it a go now and comment below how you find it 👇
I trained this way on the heavybag a week before sparring a bigger oppopent to improve my head movement, counters and footwork, it worked extremelly well as I took very minimum shots and succesfully moved in or countered a few good ones. The foot contact should be distributing the weight to 75% on the heel and 25% on ball of foot. TRAINING SESSION ...... Lower body workout with resistance bands. She is performing a one legged glute bridge while using a stability pad for her other foot. A very challenging move. The second move is a static glute bridge using a resistance band and a bosu board. Today proved that sometimes it’s good to mix up your training. I never do isolation programming because in general I prefer the feeling of hitting my MHR doing functional exercise that works my whole body. However, after a pretty intense shoulder and bicep session courtesy of @matttredwell 😂😑 I think it might be time to start working on that isolated strength training. I wonder when I’ll be able to use my arms again...🔥💭
Jude seems to store all of his energy for when I work evenings. Tonight I have plans after work and know I will not be home until 10:30/11, much later than usual. So I made sure that Jude got a nice decompression walk before I left and I also have him a job to do while I was gone. Here we have a sensory box! In it are various food toys (mostly DIY!) and chewies. Here is the breakdown: •6 brown paper lunch bags, with 4-6 kibbles each and crumpled into balls •6 toilet paper rolls, 4 with 4-6 kibbles each and folded at the ends, 2 cracked crunched around dehydrated duck feet •4 water bottles with lids, plastic rings, and levels removed each come containing 5-10 kibbles •1 Kong stuffed with mushy kibbles and canned food mix •1 tremenda stick •1 cows hoove filled with peanut butter I also left him my Kong mix mixing bowl to clean. I stuck around long enough just to video a little bit of his box opening. **Please note that I have observed Jude interact with each of these items before I've ever left him home alone with them. You should always observe your puppy with new puzzle toys or chewies before leaving them unattended. The 2nd release of the Into Fitness strength and condition programming WOD. With fatigue setting in quick, tiring your assisting muscles, you really need a clear mind and strong focus to push through. You literally talk to yourself (in your head🙄😅), to maintain focus on key aspects of the movement, making sure you execute it best you can... This greatly improves proprioception and lets you focus on the MOVEMENT as fatigue sets in, instead of just powering through, losing technique and wasting energy. When you are tired even more attention needs to be paid then as any shortcuts that was taken or any steps not followed are then sure to pop up and may cost you the lift or an injury. Conditioning and pushing limits are what make you achieve goals that has been set. If I could tell one thing to the part of me that worries every time I “don’t feel like myself” it would be to chill and relax into it. Allow the waves and storms because you’ll come out just fine every single time. Not just that but you’ll come back with more strength, resilience, a greater capacity to ride and be with bigger waves and having uncovered more of YOU to be express and experience. . It’s never as bad as the stories of the mind make it out to be. . So my challenge is to learn to ride the waves a little more gracefully. To become better at staying connected to each and every experience no matter how uncomfortable. So I can listen and choose to act on that voice of truth, that inner guidance that is always there. It’s a practice to listen to it and the more I act on it the stronger that connection becomes. . What guidance has your core been whispering to you? What’s been niggling and nudging away at the back that you know if you took action on would create more SPACE for you and your life? . . .
