S/O to these legends for coming and not only emceeing our 2nd annual event but speaking on some powerful and eye opening issues.
The stories they told were very personal and everyone in the room were captivated and touched. They made the night.
We look forward to working closely with @livinorg
and both @dan_dc_conn
in future events. #itaintweaktospeak
I got asked yesterday; When was the “moment” I realised I needed to change...
To be honest there were many moments that should have sparked me to want to make a change BUT I just wasn’t ready.
It’s very confronting to look at yourself and address or the shit you’re not happy with. Trust me, that’s why is took me much longer than it should have to do that.
It’s a lot easier to sweep the underlying issues under the rug until the next time you need to say “I got drunk” or “I was high” or “Everyone else was doing it”
You can only run for so long before you either end up in a really shit place or you need to face yourself.
Deep down I know so many of you lads want a better life. So you may as well draw a line in the sand and start doing the work now.
It’s not easy, but your whole life will change for the better.
If this post isn’t the right time for you, that’s OK! Just know... it’s not too far away.

Interesting that yesterday was International Men’s Day and I didn’t hear a mention of it anywhere. The stats surrounding men’s mental and physical health, lifestyle implications and societal expectations are staggering if you look into it. Great things are being done by organisations like Beyond Blue and charities like movember but we all play a part. Be there for your partners, your brothers, sons and your mates. #itaintweaktospeak #beyondblue #menshealth #internationalmensday #equality #feminism #ignoredbythemedia
“How is your mental health?” Why is this question so hard to ask and so hard to answer?
Here is a picture of me after a took a chunk off my finger with a knife.
For around 4 weeks- I was continually asked how it was recovering.
Continually asked when it would be better... Actually, I was asked this more times in four weeks than people have asked how my mental health is tracking over the last 12 months.
There is such a stigma with a simple question and it’s not completely the asker’s fault.
It’s the way we answer.
We hide the truth, we get defensive and sometimes blow them off so why would they want to ask.
It comes down to everyone playing there role in reducing the stigma by asking and answering properly.
Then it comes down to listening with no judgement and not pretending like you know what they’re going through. Just be you, be a friend.
Mental health is a part of every human being, some just struggle worse than others. Just like how others are more injury prone or others suffer heart problems or back problems.
Let’s talk about our mental health.
Because everyone life matters

Website and Branding project for Battling The Blues by Darius Boyd. From an inspiring journey of struggle and triumph, Battling the Blues was founded with the sole purpose of creating a conversation around Mental Health and giving the support and courage to speak up. It’s always special to play a little part in life changing projects like this! ✨
I don’t think it’s effective if we use only one day a year to ask people “are you okay?”
It’s something we should be asking regularly especially if you have a gut feeling or see signs that someone is struggling.
It doesn’t even have to be that specific question but making an effort to take interest in someone’s life and forming new friendships might be the one thing that saves someone’s life. For those who are struggling it is okay not to be okay but it’s so important to speak up then to suffer in silence.
Probably the most patients I have ever had with something but if it's a dream and you to make it a reality you've gotta work for it and do what takes and the time it take it also my safe place and happy place where all the issues I have no longer exists #itaintweaktospeak
International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide, the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities.
Scrolling through social media, it’s interesting to see how strong the relationship is with this day and the topic of men’s mental health.
For a day where we celebrate all the good blokes in our lives, it seems to also be a day where conversations need to be had. If in doubt reach out.
Another great day delivering the #LIVINWellAU
program to the team at Sydney Trains. It was good to catch up with our friend @gusworland
too and hear what he is up to with @gotcha4life
Let’s smash the stigma surrounding mental health and make it a discussion that guys feel like they can have.
What goes a r o u n d comes back around baby!
When we pass onto our next life, the most precious thing to leave with the people you love is the memories of how you made them f e e l
When we start to focus our attention on the feelings associated with our actions in this life, the universe will thank us straight back
Let karma work with you, not against you ✌🏻
Almost two-thirds of the way through @movember
and here’s where we’re at. I really enjoy getting around this organisation every year because it starts a conversation. Too many times men keep quiet when they’re doing it tough, whether it is physical or mental health concerns. Together we are raising not only funds for research into men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, but also awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. If you can spare some funds to donate please head to http://mobro.co/kmac24 - all donations are greatly appreciated. But more importantly, if you notice something isn’t quite right, talk to your mates. See how they’re doing. That one question could be the difference. #movember #menshealth #donations #pleasehelp #letshaveachat #conversationstarters #moustache #fundraiser #itaintweaktospeak
‘Growth’ can mean different things to different people. It’s pretty much the same with ‘bullshit’. Sometimes, when we’re eyeball deep in our own BS, we can’t see that we have been quite heavily committed to cultivating more of the same.
So choose. Take off the brown-coloured glasses, shake off the stink and actively search for areas of your life – limiting beliefs, old thought patterns and habits – where you could do with a fresh perspective and a bit more growth. You may find that it was, in fact, that old bullshit that fertilised the growth process, so it’s not all bad – just try not to hold onto it long term. Manure can be great for cultivating new growth, but sooner or later the beauty needs to be allowed to grow up and through it! #yougotthis
~ vulnerability ~
I look back on this photo, and what is the first thing I think about? the absolute pain I was feeling in my mind. A pain that I can’t even describe, it was like a pain that was so severe you become numb to it. I remember vividly thinking didn’t want to live anymore, I felt weak, pathetic and a waste of a life. Something no one should EVER feel.
You cannot see this pain on everyone, mental health in most cases is impossible to see. This is a message to everyone... to encourage the conversation on mental health.
To all the males reading this... please know that your vulnerably is your biggest strength. It takes strength to cry, it takes strength to speak up!
Let’s start the conversation. Open up, and share our stories. ✨

The amount of lives we’re loosing when
Australia was just declared the richest country in the world of 2018...
How the fuck are statistics of an average of 6 men a day killing themselves still accurate???
Enough is enough.
If anyone needs someone to talk to but there’s some smart mouthed dickhead trying to run you and telling you/making you feel like it’s not masculine to feel or you’re less of a man for expressing emotions, FUCK them.
The only people that will drag you down are the ones that are already below you.
Those people don’t deserve your time, attention or energy.
My door is always open for my brothers and anyone that ever just needs a hug, a kind word or even just an emoji sent their way.
Let’s break the cycle,
let’s change the statistics.
International Men’s Day is here to raise awareness of men’s health. I’m very fortunate to have a great role model by my side, but I still ask him often “R U Ok?”. This is your friendly reminder to do the same with your nearest & dearest #itaintweaktospeak #internationalmensday
if anyone ever needs to open up or talk to someone who has been through similar experiences or just to get their mind off things I am all ears 🥀🖤 #itaintweaktospeak #thisisnotconsent
| D A Y 6️⃣ R E A C H I N G O U T | ~ it’s been a rough few days, so I’m playing catch-up ~
A snippet from my first email to my current psychologist.
At our 6 week check up, I asked my GP for a referral to a women’s health psychologist. Unfortunately, she wasn’t the right fit for me, and things started getting worse. I wanted so badly to axe it and try to manage on my own, but I knew in my heart that wasn’t going to work. I had to seek out someone else. I hated the idea of having to share my story in detail again, of having to make myself feel that vulnerable AGAIN, but I knew for my sake, and the sake of my little family, that I had to. I knew I had to reach out or this would eat me alive.
I’ve always found it difficult to reach out and ask for help. With every-day things as well as motherhood and my illness. I know it doesn’t diminish me as a person, I know I’m stronger for it, but it doesn’t make it any easier.
Reaching out doesn’t make you weak.

Accurate depiction of how Monday for me is feeling. Unwell, working from home, a hundred things on my mind and I’m probably thinking about a burger from Mookie right now. Or a cocktail. Or both. Yeah both. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This Monday is a bit shit. But that’s okay. I really hate those unachievable “YOU MUST LOVE MONDAYS OR YOU HATE YOUR LIFE” etc blah blah quotes. Nah, I’m just having a shit day? We all have shit days. That’s actually okay. You’re allowed to feel down and a bit flat about life sometimes. When it becomes all the time, that’s when it’s a worry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re only human – It is impossible to go through life having zero negative thoughts. We all experience the feelings of anger, sadness, joy, jealousy, happiness, frustration. You are not a machine, no one can just switch off negative emotions. #youarehuman
Movember day 19!
Well over the halfway point and stoked to have raised over $1000 so far.
Getting close to my target but still need your help. -
You might be wondering why I'm wearing this sweet hardhat. -
Working in construction as both a tradie and now in the office. The conditions are different but the toll it can take on you mentally is also the same. -
In Australia 75% of suicides are Male with construction having a high number of mental health struggles. -
Physical problems like prostate and testicular cancer can contribute to deteriorating mental problems. -
The Movember foundation contributes their raised money to these amazing causes.
1) Prostate Cancer
2) Testicular Cancer
3) Mental health and suicide prevention. -
A lot of you who work in construction, know the tolls this can take.
I'm asking you all as my friends to please donate to this.
Once again it doesnt have to be much. If 50 people even donate $5 or $10 it makes the world of difference.

I remember when the feeling of chaos used to ruin me! It lead me to lie, take drugs & drink alcohol and make other poor decisions.
I started feeling like my decisions didn’t matter because every other aspect of my life felt 🤬.
The reason most of life felt 🤬 was because I was focusing on things that were out of my control (seems stupid now).
It all changed when I started focusing on what I could control. Then in times of chaos I just focused on what I could control 1 day at a time.
This is still how I live my life and it’s a lot more enjoyable.
Tag a mate who needs to get through the chaos!

What Movember means to me..... This time last year I spent my weekend rallying tennis balls for 24 hours for Movember.... The Rally for Movember was hands down the toughest and mentally challenging thing I have ever had the pleasure of doing...... and I would do it all again knowing that every drop of sweat, every sore muscle and every blister helped raise money for such an incredible cause
Thanks to every single legend that was apart of the day, I couldn’t have done it without you
Make sure you support @movember
anyway you can this year. You never know how big of a difference you can make
Day 18 of Movember!
Please donate, link in my bio.
On average, one in eight men will experience depression and one in five men will experience anxiety at some stage of their lives! That’s about of our brothers, fathers, husbands, boyfriends, friends.
I’m raising money to help shine a light on this and get men the help they deserve and make our community a better place for everyone!
