It’s so much fun getting to finally play with Hudson. The small little baby times were great...but I’m honestly pretty excited that he’s now at an age where he wants to play. He’s starting to play rough a bit, he likes to wrestle, he loves playing with his wooden car, he’s pretty much everything you’d expect from a little boy. I’m excited to watch him as his personality and interests become more and more clear. I’m also psyched for all of the father and son play times to come!

hope 23 / 2019 are easier than hopping into this window sill was 🥳
Happy New Year friends! I hope the first dozen hours of your new year have been great! Ours basically consisted so far of getting woken up at 6am from a crying child who hates to sleep. Mix that with going to bed at 1am and that set the stage for our New Year’s Day...seeing how much coffee we can consume in 24hrs! If you find yourself in a similar place, or maybe you just want to try some new quality coffee this year, be sure to check out @tradecoffeeco...use
promo “Ellie.bie” for 50% off your first bag of coffee. Link in bio!
Hudson is getting so big! Even though he may not be big enough to fully understand Christmas, it sure has been fun seeing him react to all the lights, colors, and sounds this past month. Plus with his newly discovered obsession with crinkling paper I’m pretty excited to see his excitement on Christmas Day...now we just have to finish wrapping the gifts...and making some gifts...and buying some gifts...we’ll be fine!
Here’s to more everyday adventures with my people. That’s what life’s all about, right. @jadeandsage
First Xcountry ski of this winter ❤️✌🏻

“Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things”...oh and also @gathre
mats and @hazelvillage
dolls...those have also been some of Ellie and my favorite things this Holiday season! Definitely would recommend either one.
I love being able to create. I think that’s one of the things that I love about coffee. It gives me the opportunity to create every morning...and afternoon...and most evenings...(I probably drink too much coffee) anyway! There is something so enjoyable to me about waking up and creating coffee. Maybe you’re not a coffee person. That’s totally fine! Find that thing you’re doing every day. Whether that be cooking an exquisite dinner or making a beautiful spreadsheet. Try to not get caught up in the repetitive routines of daily life. Don’t just check stuff off your to-do list. Try to create beauty in it. [also I’m pretty psyched to finally get my coffee shelves finished. @brewlab.coffee
definitely inspired this project]
A lot of people tend to think that once you’re married and have kids your life is over. If I had a dollar for every time someone said to me two years ago “you’re getting married?! You’re so young!” I would...well, I’d have more dollars. Then I blew all those peoples minds even more when I told them Ellie and I were having a baby. You can imagine what some of those reactions were like. My life definitely looked different and I started to feel like a captive to this little boy that I loved so much. The late nights out on the town with my wife turned into late nights of headaches and us saying “he has to stop crying soon, right?” For the first two or three months of Hudson’s life on earth I definitely let those people I mentioned earlier get in my head. I started thinking “what if we are too young?” Or “what if our life really is gonna be boring now?” But those thoughts were all lies. Just about half a year into this whole dad thing and I’m finally able to start seeing those thoughts for the lies they are. Being given a baby has been one of God’s greatest gifts to Ellie and me. Our lives aren’t over, they’re really just beginning. Our days aren’t boring, they just look different. Quiet evenings of reading and coffee have now turned into evenings of coffee, reading, and some babbling and giggles...and I couldn’t be happier about that.
